Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Power Mac G4 Quicksilver requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Power Macintosh G3 Beige, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Power Macintosh G3. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. CorenSearchBot (talk) 04:51, 24 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

August 2014[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a message letting you know that one or more of your recent edits to Power Macintosh G3 has been undone by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG.

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Power Macintosh G3 a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen. Thank you. Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Power Macintosh G3 with this edit, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. This was my own accident, I accidentally resent a form when I was going back. Jacobfeliciano1 (talk) 05:18, 24 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Caution advised[edit]

As a new editor, you have already run afoul of some Wikipedia rules and guidelines. Although you clearly intend to be constructive, some of your edits have caused disruption to important Wikipedia articles. Please exercise caution with major changes like article creation and renaming. You should spend time reading the relevant Wikipedia documentation before attempting more wide-ranging changes. Cheers! Your contributed article, IBook g4[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, IBook g4. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – IBook. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at IBook – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Jackmcbarn (talk) 03:13, 25 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of IPod Touch (4th generation)[edit]

Hello Jacobfeliciano1,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged IPod Touch (4th generation) for deletion, because it appears to duplicate an existing Wikipedia article, [[{{{article}}}]].

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Anastasia [Missionedit] (talk) 01:51, 27 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on MacBook Pro Retina Display requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.faq.usually.eu/1573-how-to-boot-linux-on-macbook-pro.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Don't be discouraged[edit]

As you have discovered by now, most or all of your attempts to write new articles have been or will be deleted, since there are already full-fledged articles on those subjects. Don't despair; there are many opportunities to contribute to Wikipedia, but you should always first do a search to locate existing articles before trying to create a possible duplicate one. Also, before editing an article for the first time, be sure to read it completely, and to also read its associated Talk page (click the "Talk" tab at the upper left corner of the page). If you are looking for ideas on an article to start, look at Wikipedia:Requested articles, which lists hundreds of article suggestions in a number of categories. Your initial efforts were "Wikipedia:Good Faith Edits", and I hope your future contributions will be more successful. Cheers! Reify-tech (talk) 15:04, 29 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your request for adminship[edit]

I saw your request for adminship, and think that you should read Wikipedia:Adminship is not for new users and Wikipedia:Advice for RfA candidates before withdrawing your request, as you stand no chance of becoming an admin for the moment - you simply don't have the level of experience required, and are certain to be disappointed. AndyTheGrump (talk) 00:56, 21 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

(edit conflict) I have closed your RFA under WP:NOTNOW. I suggest you read WP:RFA and WP:RFAADVICE before you apply. I also noticed several technical problems with your attempt to transclude the application and use the templates. Becoming a sysop requires a moderate to advanced understanding of using Wikipedia templates and functions. Mkdwtalk 00:57, 21 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
