Hello[edit]

Hello, at the Wikipedia Video Games Project WP:VG we're always happy to have developers show an interest and help us out with stuff. But you need to have a read of WP:COI first. If you've got any queries drop a message on the project's talk page and people will be happy to help. - X201 (talk) 16:08, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Gravity Crash, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. TeapotgeorgeTalk 20:02, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a few moments to create a new account with a username that represents only you. If your username doesn't represent a group, organization or website, you may ask for a review of this username block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}. Thank you. Citations[edit]

Hello, the reason things have to be cited is actually there to protect your company and its products. Lets say that you know an amazing fact about your game - Ringo Starr played drums on the soundtrack, it has the best compression algorithm on PSN, it runs in 3D 1080p @ 60Hz, anything - , so you add that fact. Every other user of Wikipedia after your edit has no way of knowing if its true, unless it has a citation that links to a reliable source.

You must have seen the obvious vandalism to articles here, people adding swear words etc there's also another type of vandalism. Some vandals go around changing dates by just one day, or adding almost believable fallacies to articles. That's another reason why citations are needed to help weed out vandalism like this. A citation helps protect the amazing fact that you added, it gives your addition a value above any old info added by any users who happened to be passing the Gravity Crash article.

WP:V is the official explanation about citations.

I really do urge you to go to the talk page of The Wikipedia Video Games Project WP:VG and explain who you are and what you're trying to do. But please, turn CAPS LOCK off before you do, it makes your messages appear very aggressive. If you need any help just leave me a message. - X201 (talk) 08:44, 15 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
