Copyright problems

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. It seems that you may have run into some challenges with your article on Four Theories of the Press. Chief among them is that the text seems to be duplicated from this geocities site. Wikipedia cannot used previously published text from any website or publication unless it can be verified to be public domain or licensed compatibly with GFDL. There's no indication that the site in question is. For that reason, I have had to delete your userpage, as it also copied text from that site. Wikipedia needs to remain compliant with US copyright law. You can see our copyright policy for more information, including Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted material for the process of verifying licensing if you are the original copyright owner.

As far as creating an article on the book, I'm not familiar with it, but if it meets our inclusion guidelines for books (Wikipedia:Notability (books)), you might find some useful information on creating an article for it at Wikipedia:WikiProject Books. For example, you would usually begin by announcing what it is: "Four Theories of the Press is a 1956 book by Frederick S. Siebert, Theodore Peterson and Wilbur Schramm published under the University of Illinois Press." (1956, at least, is the date given here: [1]) Then you'd briefly explain what it is and why it's important--that is, how it meets the notability guidelines. Given the results I get for a "Google book" search (here), I imagine it easily does. You would want to add references from some of those reliable sources to verify your information. (See WP:V, our verifiability policy, for more.)

What you wouldn't want to do is quote the critique by Terje Steinulfsson Skjerdal at that Geocities site. Wikipedia uses "reliable sources"—that is, material that has been published by reputable professional publications. Sometimes, we do refer to blogs and individual websites, but when we do, we need to verify that they are produced by acknowledged experts in their field.
