Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Tamayori-hime (mother of Jimmu), you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Kiki and Sumiyoshi Shrine. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Kiki (Shinto) moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Kiki (Shinto), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I can find no source saying he is bisexual, therefore, I have reverted the categories you just added.

Where did you read/see that he is bisexual. Le Marteau (talk) 00:26, 23 January 2022 (UTC)

I read it from a 2014 interview, that I turned out to have misunderstood. He actually said he wanted to be bisexual and had sex with men in the past Immanuelle (talk) 01:16, 23 January 2022 (UTC)

From what I've gathered, he went around to various gay bars with a film crew and found one guy he masturbated in a bathroom. That is not "men". Le Marteau (talk) 02:24, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
I say this only because it is important that we be careful about discussing living people. Misstatements about them, particularly about sensitive issues such as sexuality, must be either removed or corrected anywhere it appears on the encyclopedia, even on talk pages. Peace out. Chinese Cult category

Please make sure the article supports adding this category. At least 2 articles are about South Korean cults with no mention of China.Slywriter (talk) 19:07, 25 January 2022 (UTC) @Slywriter: Will do. This is a formal list by the Chinese government so there will be proper citations for this, at least on the Chinese Wikipedia articles from I categorized the groups from (with the exceptions of Heterodox teachings (Chinese law) and Murder of Wu Shuoyan which are not groups themselves but strongly linked to it) Immanuelle (talk) 19:10, 25 January 2022 (UTC)

The two articles I reverted make no mention of any members or activities in China, so unless sections are added about their activities in China and are sourced to WP:SECONDARY reliable sources, it is unlikely the Chinese government list justifies the category. Also, remember Chinese Wikipedia and English Wikipedia are different projects with different guidelines. Slywriter (talk) 19:16, 25 January 2022 (UTC)
and no issue with the other two mentioned, they discuss China.Slywriter (talk) 19:16, 25 January 2022 (UTC)

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Akihito into Emperor Taishō. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. Draft status for multiple articles

@Immanuelle:

I noticed that you re-moved various articles back to the mainspace, after I'd moved them to draftspace just a few days ago. I also notice that, while you appear to be editing these pages, you haven't yet corrected the biggest issues with them -- chunks of text still in Japanese, badly machine-translated text that isn't grammatical, lack of sourcing, various things listed as "references" when they appear to be more "annotations".

Considering the substantial issues with these pages, I recommend that they be moved back to draftspace until the text can be rendered in grammatical and meaningful English, and appropriate sources can be added (even if that's a matter of translating the bibliographic info for Japanese sources and translating the relevant source text sections).

Also pinging @Liz: since she appears to be much more knowledgeable about drafts and moves than I am.

The articles in question:

It looks like you've made the most progress with the Makimuku ruins page. However, this still has numerous issues.

  • "Makimukyamata" is not a Japanese term. The text links through to ja:Makimukyamata River, but the Japanese Wikipedia does not have any article by that title, nor by any homophonic title in Japanese script.
  • There are still strange machine-translation artifacts littered through the page. Examples include:

The name of the Archaeological site comes from the village of Makimuku in the former Isogi-gun, and the village name "Makimuku" was taken from the "Makimuku Tamaki Palace" of Suinin and the "Makimuku Hijiro Palace" of Emperor Keikō's "Tamaki Palace" and Emperor Hishiro Palace of Keikō,

The above is the entirety of the first paragraph in the #Location and site outline section.

Note that excavation, who was in charge of the Ishino Hironobu, assigned the calendar years 180 to 210 for "Garment 1".

This is the last sentence of the third paragraph in that same #Location and site outline section. Note that the links go through to the Japanese Wikipedia: one to the non-existent article at ja:excavation, and two to irrelevant articles at ja:180 and ja:210, which discuss the numbers themselves.

The three tumuli are surrounded by the Garoshi Katsuyama tumulus (top), the Yatsuka tumulus (bottom left) and the Ishizuka tumulus (bottom right), and the Garoshi Elementary School is located between them.

This is a caption for one of the pictures. The problem here is that the tumuli are not surrounded by anything in the picture, and instead they surround the elementary school.
  • Sourcing is inadequate.
  • Strange formatting that renders the meaning unclear.

On the map of the site, the area of the site is centered on JR Makimuki Station and stretches about 2km from east to west and about 1.5km from north to south, forming an oval shape with an area of 3km2 (3 million m2).

Emphasis mine. Clearer phrasing might be "three square kilometers", for instance.
  • Chunks of text still in Japanese.
In addition to the References at the bottom, there's also the 「搬入土器の出身地割合」 table in the #Main excavated artifacts section.

Immanuelle, I look forward to your thoughts. ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 01:48, 1 February 2022 (UTC)

@Eirikr: Thank you for this input. I feel with it I managed to make substantial improvements on these articles, and their sourcing. The Exception being History of Shinto because it is quite long and has a complex set of references Immanuelle (talk) 06:55, 1 February 2022 (UTC)
@Immanuelle: Thanks for the reply. That makes sense, and I am reassured that someone is actively working on these. I hope the above provides useful feedback on further improvements. Kind regards, ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 23:00, 1 February 2022 (UTC)
Coming late to this productive discussion. I am usually moving inadequately sourced or incomplete articles to Draft space than rather than improving content. I am not a content creator but it's nice to see Immanuelle work on improving articles. All I can really add is that editors often move pages into Draft space when there is a possibility that they could be tagged for speedy deletion. New page patrollers are very efficient in evaluating new pages and tagging for deletion those that meet speedy deletion criteria. Although pages in Draft space can still be tagged for speedy deletion (most often advertising or promotional content), it's considered a "safe space" for articles to be improved upon so that is often the reason why articles that could be deleted are moved to this name space. It's rarely a comment on the substance or subject (or its notability) of an article but after an evaluation of the present condition of the page. Liz Read! Talk! 22:05, 9 February 2022 (UTC)

Problems with new article "Reflexive control"

Hello, Immanuelle, thanks for creating the article Reflexive control. There are a few problems with it that need fixing. First, the lead sentence reads poorly; I notice that you used the m:ContenTranslation tool, which is fine, but I have to ask if you know Russian well enough to translate the Russian article into English, or perhaps you are relying on machine translation to do it for you? Or, perhaps your Russian is fluent, but your English writing needs help? In any case, the first sentence, and portions of the rest of the article needs attention from someone who speaks sufficient Russian and English to do a capable translation.

In addition, several of the references are not properly formatted, and cause error messages on the page; see the red messages in the "References" section.

Finally, for the "title" of one of the sources, you added in footnote 7 that the article title in Russian is "Архивированная копия", but if you understand Russian, you know that this is not the title of any book in Russian, and simply means "Archival copy". If this is your level of Russian, you probably should not be translating articles from Russian without assistance. You can ask for help at WP:WikiProject Russia, or look for a Russian-translating Wikipedian.

Can you acknowledge receiving this message, and let me know that you are working on fixing these problems? Otherwise, the article might need to be moved to Draft space for the time being. Mathglot (talk) 21:33, 9 March 2022 (UTC)

Foreign language competence

I notice you are using the ContentTranslation tool to create translations of articles from Chinese (1), Japanese (2, 3), Russian (4, 5), and German (6). May I ask you to rate your fluency in these languages? You may do so by replying below, or simply use the convenient {{Babel}} template on your user page. Notice

The article Revolutionary Kanbun theory has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Citation only refers to the accession of Emperor Jinmu section and there are no citations for "Revolutionary Kanbun theory".

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Please stop submitting drafts without editing them

You've recently drive-by submitted a few drafts that were draftified, as they were not ready for namespace, to AFC without editing them. Please don't do this, since they were already determined to be unfit for mainspace and submitting without trying to improve the article is just wasting AfC reviewers' time. See how you've already received 21 declined draft notices. eviolite (talk) 11:40, 29 March 2022 (UTC)

Also, please don't move articles like First Polish War, which are clearly not suitable for mainspace (that one has only one source and no inline citations), out of draftspace. eviolite (talk) 11:56, 29 March 2022 (UTC)

Working on submitting drafts

Seeing as how a prolific draftifier has recently stopped and left a lot of articles in deletion limbo I plan on taking it upon myself to submit many of the drafts and try to get good content preserved which may be lost due to the 6 month deletion rule. I hope this doesn't clog up AFC too much, but I think with this script being used less there will likely be way less articles in it long term. Immanuelle (talk) 01:10, 29 March 2022 (UTC)

I just noticed that some of the articles that you have submitted haven't been changed since they were moved to draft space as they were not ready for mainspace and would suggest that they should be left in draft space until they are ready. Gusfriend (talk) 06:18, 29 March 2022 (UTC)
What Gusfriend said. I have had to decline over a dozen of them just in the last two hours when patrolling CAT:AFC0. If you want to avoid WP:G13 deletion, just make any edit at all rather than submitting. And please don't unilaterally move them back without resolving the issues. (See the section below, User talk:Immanuelle#Please stop submitting drafts without editing them, which I created without seeing this one.) eviolite (talk) 13:47, 29 March 2022 (UTC)

Your translations

I greatly appreciate your work to expand Wikipedia with translations from other languages, however, you need to do it properly. Whilst your translations seem quite good and accurate, often the original content has issues, which are retained when you translate it. Sometimes it is things like not adhering to WP:NPOV, other times there are insufficient references, or a serious lack of inline citations. You need to fix the articles up before they can be accepted, and just because they were an article on another language Wikipedia, doesn't mean that they were particularly good. If you take more time to choose the articles you translate (the Ryuku dynasty thing is probably a case of biting off more than you can chew), and fix all issues with them before submitting them to AfC, you will find that they get rejected a lot less often. Mako001 (C)  (T)  🇺🇦 11:34, 3 April 2022 (UTC)

I appreciate this advice. I've noticed it seems to play a role I haven't necessarily paid close attention to. Silken Painting of Emperor Go-Daigo for example is something I thought of as being one of my worst translations, yet it is classified as a B class article because it came from a high quality Japanese original article. On the topic of Kyushu dyansty theory I've decided to just try to translate the article on Takehiko Furuta as it seems better sourced and more critical of his theories. Might redirect Kyushu Dynasty theory there Immanuelle (talk) 15:32, 3 April 2022 (UTC)

I was just looking at the Yenisei Inscriptions page and I was thinking that merging the contents of Elegest inscription and Uyuk-Tarlak inscription into the page would make it a more rounded page. This would allow the page to develop until there is sufficient information for a split. I have also added the Turkic Inscriptions nav template to the Yenisei page.Gusfriend (talk) 07:48, 4 April 2022 (UTC)

Mass moves from draft to main space

Hi Immanuelle. I'm concerned about the mass moves you're performing from draft to main space. Many of these come after a draftification by a new page reviewer, and without any explanation or any significant improvement to the articles. What's your rationale for these? Thank you. Best, MarioGom (talk) 14:25, 7 April 2022 (UTC)

Mengli II from draftspace

Thank you for moving Meñli II Giray from draftspace. You saved me a bit of trouble. You might want to look at Draft:Devlet III Giray and Draft: Saadet IV Giray and see what you think. In my POV the people who moved these to draftspace did not understand that most inner Asian history is poorly documented.Benjamin Trovato (talk) 20:23, 5 April 2022 (UTC)

If I remember correctly the person who moved it took only 15 seconds in reviewing it based on the logs, and had repetitively done this with about 500 articles a month before having their privileges removed. As they draftified about 20 of my articles like this I decided to look through and try to rescue the other articles they did this with. Immanuelle (talk) 20:28, 5 April 2022 (UTC)

Careful. What you're doing seems to be a form of retaliation and to prove a WP:POINT. As a NPP reviewer, I think your mass reversal of draftifications is disruptive. MarioGom (talk) 14:29, 7 April 2022 (UTC)

Ways to improve Muslim privilege

Hello, Immanuelle,

Thank you for creating Muslim privilege.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

References to Lapidus are missing. Only two references directly address Muslim privilege; Muslim conspiracy (mentioned in a number of references) cannot be related directly nor indirectly to Muslim privilege. What is needed are references from significant coverage about the topic of the article, and independent of it, in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS; that is your guide. You may also read WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources. A more comprehensive guide is WP:SOURCES ... Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact referred to, that meet these tough criteria is likely to allow this article to remain. Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the topic is not suitable for inclusion. Kindly do the needful. Thank you.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Timofey Sergeytsev requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Ari T. Timofey Sergeytsev moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Timofey Sergeytsev, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Liz Read!
