@Gråbergs Gråa Sång Ok. I need your help in one problem. Actually, I am busy so, I am not able to find sources related to this problem. Please see this problem, If you have some time. Thank You.

Hello, for some reason your WP:PING didn't work, so I just happened to see this. Never heard of the people involved, Balolay, do you have any words of wisdom on this problem? Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 09:19, 24 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Gråbergs Gråa Sång, No, didn't heard of Balolay. What's problem???

IAmAtHome (talk) 10:53, 24 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I was refering to your text "I need your help in one problem." Balolay is an editor I've "met" before and I'm asking for their opinion. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 12:01, 24 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Huh. You know what, looking back, I actually intended to ping Beshogur. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 14:28, 28 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Gråbergs Gråa Sång, the problem was solved by a user. For what purpose are you pinging him???

IAmAtHome (talk) 15:51, 28 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't check if the problem was unsolved. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 17:07, 28 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Gråbergs Gråa Sång ! Check Suleyman Shah. Someone is adding a copied content in the article. I have reverted that.

January 2022[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Toddy1. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Ali ibn Abi Talib, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. -- Toddy1 (talk) 12:56, 2 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've added with source from İslâm Ansiklopedisi. Check it. Thank You. IAmAtHome (talk) 13:33, 2 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Bibliographies should be sorted alphabeticallly[edit]

Hi IAmAtHome! I see that just re-orderded the bibliographies at Umar and Ahl al-Bayt according to date. However, bibliographies on Wikipedia are normally ordered alphabetically, by the authors' last names, following in this the wide-spread practice in scholarly sources. Please order them by last name next time (this may sometimes require you to fill in the |last= and |first= parameters in the {{cite book}} and other cite templates). Thanks! ☿ Apaugasma (talk ) 14:38, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Apaugasma, Okay. I think it was good to keep them by date order. But if you are saying, at Wikipedia, bibliographies are arranged alphabetically by author's last name order. I will never disturb the order again. I'll keep the alphabetical order in my mind next times. Thank you for your guiding, Happy Editing! IAmAtHome (talk) 14:53, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

March 2022[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Hajrakhala. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Ahmed Raza Khan Barelvi have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Hajrakhala (talk) 12:23, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Henri de Bornier. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Hajrakhala (talk) 12:24, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Baha ad-Din ibn Shaddad, you may be blocked from editing. Hajrakhala (talk) 12:25, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did at Ghalib, you may be blocked from editing. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. Hajrakhala (talk) 12:38, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You are not an administrator here. I see no disruptive editing. TDV Encyclopedia of Islam is a reliable encyclopediac source. @Beshogur:, Am I right? IAmAtHome (talk) 13:12, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes it's a reliable source. What's the issue? Beshogur (talk) 13:17, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
please check wikipedia:spam, you were adding those links continously to different articles as external links and refs. Hajrakhala (talk) 13:22, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't add this source in External links, I added it in content: Bibliography & Sources or References. I think there is no solid reason for reverting my edits on these articles by you. What do you mean? Why I cannot add it? There are some encyclopedias which are added for citation on thousands of articles like Encyclopedia Britannica & Encyclopedia Iranica. İslâm Ansiklopedisi is also a reliable and authentic. Yes this is in Turkish language, but we can use it on English Wikipedia as a source or for citation. IAmAtHome (talk) 13:50, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
because you were spamming it by changing the link sections of various articles like here. There is no need of your linkS there. Thank you Hajrakhala (talk) 14:02, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Cplakidas: Please check if I am wrong. Thank You. IAmAtHome (talk) 14:47, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
And there's nothing spam about external links for further reading. They are useful. Beshogur (talk) 14:51, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Agree with Beshogur. Adding further WP:RS to an article, even if they are not directly cited at the moment, is not spam. We always need more good sources for articles, never fewer... Constantine 17:25, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting to Undo speedily deletion[edit]

@Jimfbleak: This speedily deleted page should be retrieved because...This is not for any advertisement purpose. Its all about an application software which provides religious texts similiarly like Zekr, JQuranTree, Quranic Arabic Corpus, Digital Quran. So like these articles, information about this application should also be included in the encyclopedia with neutral text. Although, the reliable sources are not available except Dawn (newspaper). The newspaper is reliable source for citation, it is frequently used for citations at Wikipedia articles. I can also expand the article with neutral point of view per the official website of the application by mentioning 'According to the website'...as it also happened in the past at JQuranTree and Zekr, you can check. I'll surely add more reliable sources in future when available. Thank You.--IAmAtHome (talk) 10:28, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

More[edit]

If you have a have a conflict of interest, you must declare it. If you work directly or indirectly for an organisation, or otherwise are acting on its behalf, you are very strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. If you are paid directly or indirectly by the organisation you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Also read the following regarding writing an article:

  • you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the organisation or company, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, logs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the company or organisation claims or interviewing its management. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls
  • Your refs were the app's own website, a gushing review, and an interview with the designer. Dawn may sometimes be reliable, but here it's just quoting a COI source, and in any case one proper source isn't enough
  • You said I can also expand the article per the official website of the application by mentioning 'According to the website'. The website is not a relaible source for notability
  • You said I'll surely add more reliable sources in future when available That will be the time to write the article.
  • I can't see how it meets the notability guidelines, it doesn't meet any of the criteria, just another app from what you wrote.
  • You must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews.

Also, for completeness

  • There shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
  • You must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.

The fact that other articles have not been deleted doesn't help you, either they met the criteria or should be deleted as well. See What about article x?. Also note that many articles would have been accepted before the notability guidelines were made stricter.

Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read Your first article. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 11:15, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for January 10[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detectedthat when you recently edited Sajah, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Soothsayer. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 05:53, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to the drive! Well, I think you should take a close look at the instructions and tips to make sure that you are following the drive rules. Feel free to practice your sourcing and citing skills even though it is not a part of the drive (like in Umm Anmar). Anyways, happy editing and I wish you good luck for the drive. You'll need it.

@CactiStaccingCrane: Thank you for your support. Yes, I've read the instructions carefully. I mistakenly added WP:FEB24 as I mentioned in the dummy edit. But couldn't get the point as you mentioned "(like in Umm Anmar)". Hope, you mentioned Umm Anmar because of my addition of sources to the "stub" or were you talking about the nature of sources? The Wikipedia Library[edit]

Hello IAmAtHome! I wondered whether you already knew about Wikipedia:The Wikipedia Library?

Once registered there, you can freely access a wide range of sources, including JSTOR articles, and –as is of great importance to editors of Islam-related topics– a wide range of Brill sources, including the various versions of the Encyclopaedia of Islam, as well as Encyclopaedia Islamica and the Encyclopaedia of the Quran.

This would enable you to read for yourself, for example, the articles I quoted on Talk:Khabbab ibn al-Aratt (note that I was already asking to look at them here; arguably I should have done so myself, but I didn't have much time and the wp:burden was on the other editor who was trying to change the article). Once registered, these Brill sources are directly accessible at https://referenceworks-brillonline-com.wikipedialibrary.idm.oclc.org/subjects.

Hope this helps, ☿ Apaugasma (talk ) 15:14, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
