Notability

I have tagged Chris & Matt Kidd, Taking The Fifth (EP) and Drifting Through Static (EP) with notability tag, because they don't appear to meet WP:NMG. Please find reliable secondary sources and add them to the articles. If reliable sources cannot be found, these articles may be deleted. Hi, I noticed your recent revert exchange at Invader Zim, particularly this edit. I also understand that you're new to editing at Wikipedia so I thought I'd lend a helping hand. If you add references when you are adding content, it will reduce the likelihood that your contribution will be reverted. If you are not familiar with how to add references, you might want to take a moment to check out the video at Referencing for Beginners. Gouryella

Hi Hakken, I appreciate that John Ewbank was involved with Gouryella but he was only a ‘co-producer’ or simply a ‘composer’ and not a member of Gouryella therefore I don’t think it is appropriate to make him appear as a member of Gouryella as the article appears to read and suggest. There are many productions of main artists be that Tiesto or Armin Van Buuren or even Ferry Corsten where they have had a co-producer or some involvement from another producer but usually it is never referred to as this track was produced with producer ‘X’ and that track was produced with producer ‘Y’ etc. John Ewbank only composed the melody and Ferry Corsten simply borrowed that melody and produced the whole track himself, for example as Tiesto borrowed Adagio For Strings. I think it is fine to suggest that John Ewbank composed the melody or something similar but to suggest that John Ewbank was an equal member of Gouryella is factually incorrect. Since Tiesto left Gouryella, Gouryella has soley been Ferry Corsten’s alias and project. Can we please work on this? Box office edits at Blade Runner 2049

The edits for the box office were changed because they are inconsistent with the infobox. For some reason, several otherwise reliable sources have reported the film being in the red based on domestic receipts alone, and excluding amounts taken at the gate in foreign markets. When the foreign gate is added, then the film is in profits as stated in the infobox for the article. Since Wikipedia does not censor foreign markets in its computation of total box office receipts, therefore the reliable sources which use both domestic receipts together with foreign receipts need to be used. The edit you are reverting back into the article looks at only domestic receipts. That is why the change was made. ManKnowsInfinity (talk) 18:58, 20 November 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for getting back. Since you have all the background, it will be easier for me to support you if the old edits return and need to be corrected. The important thing seems to be to keep new information consistent with the Infobox. The statements about "box office bomb" in the article should likely be removed as inconsistent with the Infobox. @ManKnowsInfinity: While i am all for correction, i think we should start a new section in the article's talk page so as to reach consensus on the question of whether the film is a flop or not, provided that the discussion is based on reliable sources. Keep in mind that there are more than two editors working on the page so if we revert those claims now, there is a strong possibility of things ending in an edit war, which i wouldn't want to be part of. It seems that the IP-editors are giving you a hard time again. If it continues you might list the article for short term page protection. At present, either the Lede needs to be consistent with the Infobox, or the Infobox needs to be consistent with the Lede. For now I will transfer the 4 reliable sources from the Infobox to the Lede section in order to make them consistent, and only for the purpose of making them consistent. Repository link - GitHub is not repository

Hakken you just reverted my change on Unreal Engine for GitHub repository. Well, GitHub is not repository therefore linking repository to GitHub wiki page is just wrong. See for example GNOME wiki page where repository link properly to GNOME repository. It is like if on GNOME wiki page repository would link to CGit wiki page. @Qeef: The issue with the link you provided is that it requires the user to have an account to access the code, thus going against the WP:ELNO guideline, which explicitly states that "sites that require payment or registration to view the relevant content" should be avoided.   • @Flo84300: The content you provided was improperly sourced, as it linked to a website, imdb,that is considered unreliable by Wikipedia given its user-generated nature. The other reference, NatGeo, fails to mention that some of the game's renders were featured in an documentary about the Titanic. @Eddmax: Sources are not required as the game's article is meant to contain the sources supporting the claim that it's powered by UE4. But looking at the page, we can see that it lacks any reference to the use of Epic's tech. I'm fixing it now. Hakken (talk) 16:02, 26 February 2018 (UTC)

There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). But instead of explaining the real reason behind my edit, which would likely result in an edit war, i opted for a more authoritative solution, in this case citing one of the most prominent guidelines. hi Hakken. Thank you for "fixing" the non-free use rationale for the use in Unreal Engine. I was going to do it myself this morning based upon the discussion at User talk:Masem#Unreal Engine 3 screenshot, but you got to it first. You might also want to beef up the rationale for that particular use per Masem's suggestion. Proposed deletion of File:Destiny Soundtrack cover.jpg

The file File:Destiny Soundtrack cover.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in Destiny (video game)#Soundtrack. Non-free album cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about albums, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, so there's no real real justification for the file's non-free use.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Hi Hakken. I've removed the {{refimprove}} tag on The Doors as {{Citation needed}} inline tags are already in place. As per the guidance on Template:More citations needed ("Please consider marking individual unreferenced statements with {{Citation needed}} instead of placing this template") we prefer specific inline or section tags as these are more helpful to editors looking to improve the article and to readers who can then see exactly which areas of the article are possibly unreliable. If there any sections or sentences in that article which need sourcing and do not have appropriate tags, please place tags as appropriate in those sections or lines. The best times to place the more generic {{refimprove}} tag are when you come upon a reasonably lengthy article that has several areas/sentences that require sourcing, and it would take a disproportionate amount of you time to tag each line.
