Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Atefah Sahaaleh do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Dan D. Ric (talk) 01:38, 1 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia, because it appears to be mainly intended or used for promotional purposes of a company or group. See Wikipedia:FAQ/Organization and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest.

In addition, accounts are for individuals only, not for companies or groups or other collective editing, and your username should reflect this.

Wikipedia is not a promotion website; this kind of activity is considered spam on Wikipedia, and forbidden by policies, and usernames that appear to be promotional also violate our username policy. Editing on Wikipedia is not intended to be used to promote anyone, or anything, and its use for that purpose will result in blocking of the account involved.

If you feel that there has been a mistake, please appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} on your user talk page or contacting the administrator who has blocked you. Your reason should include a clear response to this issue and a new username you wish to adopt that does not violate our username policy. Please check that your new username has not already been taken here. –Juliancolton | Talk 03:51, 1 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I only wanted to add an image that I own the rights to of Atefeh's execution. please change my user name to GregCollins

Decline reason:

I am declining your request for unblock because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    • understand what you have been blocked for,
    • will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    • will make useful contributions instead.

Please read our guide to appealing blocks for more information.  Sandstein  20:53, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

{{unblock|I understand what I was blocked for and will not do it again. The block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia. If an admin chooses to keep me blocked, it would be helpful to offer a brief explanation. Please change my user name to GregorioGarbanzo or just remove my entire account}}

So far, all of your edits have related to your own web site. Under the conflict of interest guidelines, we all agree not to write about ourselves or our own web sites, and under the spam guidelines, we agree not to link to our own web sites. Your request doesn't make it clear whether you are interested in making edits about any subject- if unblocked, what would you be writing about? -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 19:09, 12 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Response:I don't have any immediate plans to edit or write anything. As far as the previous edits, as I explained, I simply wanted to add in image to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atefeh_Sahaaleh in the execution paragraph, because there was no picture of her, and I own the rights to the pic I submitted since I took the picture myself of my own painting. That painting was done using a reference picture of her on the day she was executed with a rope around her neck and it seemed highly relevant to her story. There was an earlier dispute about images of her and the rights to use them and it was my intention to solve that.

Ok, I've unblocked you. Since your name matches the name of your website it could make your future here smoother if you did change; both of your suggestions for names are fine. (Fundamentally, you're using your real name, which cannot be taken as promotional or misrepresentational.) As for the image -- Wikipedia only includes images that are uploaded to its own servers. The painting you linked to does seem relevant and helpful for the article. If you want to submit it, click on "upload file" on the left side of your screen and follow the instructions. However, you should be aware that images uploaded to Wikipedia come with a release of rights that makes the image essentially free to use for any purpose including commercial purposes and free to modify, so long as attribution is maintained. Let me know if you have any trouble after uploading the file, and I can help. But do try to avoid posting links to your private website in the future, it's considered a conflict of interest.
