Question from Transportation17 (23:36, 4 April 2024)[edit]

Hi Grapefanatic-- thanks so much for reaching out. I do have some questions about how to go about writing/publishing an article. I am based out of California. I would appreciate some guidance on correctly navigating the process as well as writing the citations. Thank you for any assistance! --Transportation17 (talk) 23:36, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Transportation17 (23:34, 6 April 2024)[edit]

Would you please provide your best guidance for citations/references? Thank you! --Transportation17 (talk) 23:34, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have personally never reached a situation in my editing time where I've added anything that needed a citation so the best I have is WP:CITE. Sorry. -- Grapefanatic (Talk) 12:10, 8 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

How do I create a citation that is accepted by Wikipedia's terms? Thank you! --Transportation17 (talk) 00:08, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Look, I've given you all I could. I wish I could help more, but I can't. I'm truly sorry. But if you ask the same question at WP:TEA you will probably get better help. Sorry. -- Grapefanatic (Talk) 12:08, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Gardendcs (20:37, 12 April 2024)[edit]

Hi! I submitted an article for view. I am a member and have volunteered at Gibbs Gardens, not sure if that is a conflict of interest to disclose. the concept of 'conflict of interest' is confusing. there is so much more I could say but worked hard to keep things neutral and fact based and have lots of sources/citations. Any feedback is welcome. Thank you --Gardendcs (talk) 20:37, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Taken from WP:COI, Conflict of interest (COI) editing involves contributing to Wikipedia about yourself, family, friends, clients, employers, or your financial and other relationships. Any external relationship can trigger a conflict of interest. Someone having a conflict of interest is a description of a situation, not a judgment about that person's opinions, integrity, or good faith. There are two "types" of COI; the first type is general (which is what was just described), and the second type is paid COI. Paid COI when you are being paid to edit an article. -- Grapefanatic (Talk) 13:45, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
General COI is disclosed by using this template --> {{UserboxCOI|1=Wikipedia article name}} . Paid COI is disclosed using this template --> {{Connected contributor (paid)|User1=Username of the paid editor|U1-employer=Name of person/organization that is paying for the edits|U1-client= Name of client|U1-otherlinks=Insert diff to disclosure on your User page.}} . -- Grapefanatic (Talk) 13:51, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Yostgreen39 (00:18, 24 April 2024)[edit]

Wondering how to point out and correct inaccuracies in an article that are not based on published facts when the correct facts are published and can be verified? --Yostgreen39 (talk) 00:18, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

hmm {{cn}}> should point out that there are citations needed. That unfortunately is all I can provide you at this moment in time. In the meanwhile, you can go ask WP:Teahouse. -- Grapefanatic (Talk) 12:14, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
