Proposed deletion of UCLA Center for the Study of Women[edit]

The article UCLA Center for the Study of Women has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

non-notable center of womens studies based exclusively on primary sources, with no significant coverage in secondary sources. Article reads like an Advertisement

Question about the deletion of UCLA Center for the Study of Women[edit]

Thinking about the article, I can understand some of the editors concerns. Most importantly, I know realize the importance of secondary sources as opposed to primary sources in proving the note-worthyness of the topic. Because this was my first article I feel that I may have been focusing on learning the formatting instead of finding better sources. However, I still feel as if an article about an organized research unit at a large research institution is an appropriate topic. There are articles about other ORUs on various college campuses. examples of these are Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute, Center for Language and Speech Processing, [[1]], Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies, to name only a few.

I am planning on rethinking the article and finding more varied (secondary and primary) sources in order to rewrite it and use less language inspired by their website (which is why the article may have read like an advertisement).

I am open to critique and guidance. Thank you very much.
