I was looking at your edits and I thought I'd point out that while most URLs begin with www, not all of them do. Going through and putting "www" in front of every URL in wikipedia will certainly break a lot of links. --Kainaw(talk) 14:03, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

I have reverted your edit on the Richard Clayderman talk page as per WP:BIOG. This states that: Editors should remove any contentious material about living persons that is unsourced, relies upon sources that do not meet standards specified in Wikipedia:Verifiability, or is a conjectural interpretation of a source (see Wikipedia:No original research)... These principles apply to biographical material about living persons found anywhere in Wikipedia, including user and talk pages. (My emphasis). I consider phrases like "...a banalization faggot...", "his musical reductions of classics suck real bad" and "his whole carreer is based on misleading ignorant people" to be defamatory.

Thanks for your response. I take your points but I would say two things. First, it is very difficult to "refactor" a talk page. These are signed (usually) personal statements, and rewriting them is not appropriate. Deletion is the only option if they contain defamatory material. The problem is that the comments I have higlighted (along with a few others) are more than just forcefully expressed opinions about the content or the structure of the page. They are forcefully expressed opinions about the subject, which certainly under British law could be considered libel. For example, is it true that Clayderman is a "faggot", banalising or otherwise? Please consider also warning vandals
Thank you for reverting vandalism on Wikipedia. Could you also please consider using our vandal warning system [1]? First offenses get a "test1," then a "test2," followed by a "test3" and "test4." At the end of this, if the vandal persists, he or she merits blocking for a period of time. If you do this, it will greatly help us in decreasing vandalism on Wikipedia. No need to warn vandals. Just didn't know if you knew about the process. As an administrator, it is a lot easier to shut down vandalism once editors have been properly warned, thus the request. No offense intended, of course. On the second question you asked, honestly, I am not sure why I made that specific edit. Hi Graham, and thanks for correcting the file names on the.ogg file at the Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 page. (I don't even remember placing it there!) I do recall doing a major re-write, but allowing the "cartoon" material to remain.) If time permits, I would enjoy doing more work on the page, particularly relating the composition to events in the composer's life.

TDK Australian Audio Book Awards

Unfortunately these awards only went for about 10 years. I came across them when I was researching Patsy Adam-Smith. I am becoming a bit familiar with the audiobook world as my mother-in-law is legally blind now and I order her audiobooks from the library. It's a cahllenge finding good ones for an old lady who can't manage all technologies. I guess you are into e-books and a whole range of ways of communicating. Do you like John Marsden? Hi graham - seems like a while since I last wrote to you/spoke with you - satu suro here - I suspect you are a windows user - as I am on a pair of intel imacs (ok greedy) - one of my widgets says it is at - http://book-bot.com/bookbot/public/ - might be worth knowing about if you didnt know about it - widgets for the imac grow like mushrooms - in every sense - and it is a fairly good range - some duplication - but more than any one person could want or need - thats for sure. My father was going blind a year or two before he died - but had little patience or interest in listening to anything at that stage. Do you have itunes or get any podcasts at all? I would recommend some if you were interested - its a nightmare of a place (itunes pod area) to navigate - if you were interested I could point you if you were into any abc stuff at all. Midland and Bellevue
The midland article reads badly - there is a lot of pov in there with no cites - and the bellevue one is so so - so my apologies - i didnt meant to step on your toes in my changing things. Interesting south spur railway appears to have its depot on the land that lies just south of the very large grain silo that sits parallel to the eastern railway between the roe highway bridge and Lloyd street crossing - where the new harvey norman and midland central shops that have been built on the midland workshops area that got flattened by so called redevelopment of the site. Bellevue used to have a primary school but it got closed and they have to go to koongamias renamed school up the hill towards greenmount. There was an interesting thing on life matters on radio national this am about the reducing investment government school system in australia- and also yesterday driving along guildford road in maylands and the large building that i think used to be part of the blind institute has been knocked down - so I think - with typos - this morning the issue is change. cheers SatuSuro 03:31, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
It still does- the smell that is - when I used to live in Bassendean - on a night with a strong easterly the smell would drift our way. The bad smell seems to be confined to when you pass through by car on the great eastern highway by pass that goes from south guildford through hazelmere and joins up with the roe highway south of bellevue. I am unlikely to do any battye library or state records work for about another two or three months - I am sure there must be heaps of refs. It used to be a quiet area - but now with the abernethy road extension and the massive industrial sites stretching around the north east boundary of the perth airport property - it is changed forever. bushmead is what i was thinking - used to be a stopping place on the kalamunda railway line - and also a rifle range and i think during the second world war an army location - and is now one of the few locations with unspoilt vegetation due to the massive residential things in helena valley and high wycombe. Its hard to do a suburb specific thing on all these bits and pieces as it lies literally at the junction of up to 4 localities more less. will try to get back to you on this - have to do things with my kids - last day of school hols. and as a last teaser - my father was one of the group of people who helped the founders of the guide dogs for the blind here in perth - maybe i have already told you i dont know - got to go - cheers SatuSuro 03:48, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Sorry about disappearing for two days...I got really busy and did not get the chance to even log on. I'm ready to create a nomination page and here is the description I have in mind:

I so rarely deal with pages that are likely to be deleted (except taking care of PRODs I don't care about) that I forgot the dangers of editing while angry. I am the person who added the 'sources' links to the clarinet, piano and ABRSM pages recently. The links that was deleted.
Please tell me why these links were deleted, or more specifically, why these pages were not 'deemed' relevant to the articles. One of the links on the clarinet page is broken, but still it remains. Still others also link to commercial sites whithin themselves. I do not think wikipedia is a depository of links, but do you not think that a site that sources all the sheet music for students of the Royal Schools of Music is more relevant to the instrument page than a site that shows what buttons to cover on the clarinet to produce certain notes? Sure, the links I added were to blogs, but what difference does this make, since it is obviously not to a personal blog? And yes, I am aware of the nofollow tags as well.
That actually makes sense. I understand what you are saying. Let me know what you think about adding it to the ABRSM website.

Editlinks for sections and the headings
Hello Graham. A german user creates a JavaScript-Hack for my Monobook-JS, which put the Editlink behind the heading, so that Jaws-users (and other SR) now simply can navigate with "h" or "Shift+h" from heading to heading and always hear the section-title first. This gives me a very fast navigation and I don't need the content-menue no more. surueña
described this problem with section-editlinks and headings here. You can also use this JS, wehen you go here, type in Graham87 instead of "your username" and push the "implement-button". Here you will find the code for that very nice function. Some german admins want to implement this functionality into the MediaWiki-software, so that after this all SR-users simply can jump from heading to heading and hear the section-title first before the editlink, without needing this special JavaScript-hack. I am too worn down to try dispute resolution. Listening to one of your volunteers make those kind of comments reflects a lot of things. The wikipedia speaks of vandalism, that sort of behavior and judgement to keep topics out, could also be labelled as vandalism.

Vandalism does not have to be willful or on purpose, it also includes ignorance (looked up the word), ignorance means:
'lacking in knowledge or training; unlearned'
That is exactly the issue here, people who have no knowledge of a subject making a judgement to keep topics or articles out of wikipedia for the reason, 'the subject is insignificant'. When 'called to the carpet' on such a judgement, the response is, 'troll', 'go away', 'I am only following orders'.
Others will have to fight the battle, attitudes like that volunteer are not helpful.65.87.185.73 13:47, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
I read the section on dispute resolution and mediation, etc. Most suggestions can not be followed since the article is removed almost right away by one of your volunteers. This in reference to your comment at Wikipedia Articles. The article in question was called 'soldiers of the cross - colorado' which has nothing to do with the 'soldiers of the cross' article, they are two different organizations. Tasmania page edit
While I recognise your point on conflict of interest and you have removed the information on the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, I have contributed this specfic SYHR and title of my book as sources of information about these points because the article itself is lacking in imoprtant details or information about these.
The Sydney-Hobart information is not good enough, I have written an entire book about this event (anf the Cruising Yacht Club of australia actually check their facts/stats with me) and can therefore add better quality information than is present on this site.
My book listed in the references details some of the most important and fundamental events in Tasmania's history including settlement, federation, the development of some of Tasmania's biggest industries, the 1967 bushfires, the Tasman Bridge collpase and the POrt Arthur massacre. My "conflict of interest" in this instance actually allows me to be knowledgable enough to understand where the deficiencies are in this page and provide further information for users. As a 19 year old Perth man, I am wndering how much of this you could understand?? . . . when I was layed up in the hospital, the only thing to do was watch TV and in the morning, Hi-5 was on, a kid's show. The show is ok, nothing fantastic, not the most popular, but each cast member has a biography on wikipedia, such as Karla Cheatham Mosley. Why would reviewers allow that but delete articles of much more importance? Because it is on TV and has a nice external website to link to? Autism edits
Hey, Graham. I'm at a loss for what to do next with AnnieTigerChucky (talk·contribs). Considering this user's edit history, I suspect s/he might be very young. S/he has given no indication of having read his/her talk page or received the messages several editors have left about the problematic edits. I don't know what to do next if we can't reach this person and get him/her to discuss edits, and I've not yet encountered an edit by him/her that didn't need to be reverted. What do we do with possibly good faith children making a lot of bad edits and not knowing how to discuss them on talk pages? SandyGeorgia (Talk) 05:59, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for those samples, Graham. The difference in those cases is that there actually was some communication with those editors. In the case of AnnieTigerChucky, we have no indication if the editor is even reading edit summaries or knows how to use talk pages. If not very young, there could be some kind of communication impairment, so I really don't know what we can do next. Perhaps watch, wait and see is best for a bit? Graham, I put up the topic change on Deconstructionism. Yes, it is a different topic to deconstruction and does not deserve a redirect excluding it from a reference source. I went looking for any topics on Deconstructionism in wikipedia and did not find any.
So, I ended up writing my own.
Having written the topic, I will be expanding on it to provide a thorough coverage.
I am disappointed that Wik references deconstructionist as a referential point but does not even attempt to explain it.

Thank you for your input. I do apologise if at the moment I come across as either a vandal or just making up a category for the purpose of having one. I am a 'newbie' to Wik and therefore, be gentle. However, my reason for writing about deconstructionism is the fact that NO ARTICLE was supplied on the topic. I was cross, so i'm trying to write my own. BTW social collapse is not explicitly or exclusively deemed to be the end result of deconstructionism. Sometimes the society picks up on deconstructionism as being a false exit and mends itself.
The topic currently reads like a dictionary article because at this stage i'm just sticking in a filler, a stub to build on. Like most good stubs that actually expand into a proper encyclopedic topic .. it starts small and grows. I would expect that by the end of it, I end up with more than just my contribution to the article.
Just bear with me on two parts. First, google the topic and realise it has a lot of information that can be used and associated with it. HOWEVER, it remains a seperate topic from both any reference to social collapse, socialism, deconstruction or postmodernism. Now, some people associate it with religion, which is a poor ending for what is a wider than a single area phenomenon. It is a mistake to associate it with one specific social construct (religion or political).
And .. THATS why its an important topic to write about.
Now .. an aside .. can i plz register myself? I dont know how to !

Hope everything is fine with you. I just had a quick look at your user page. I was very impressed and moved when I read that even with your vision problem, you are helping wikipedia do a great job and being recognized and awarded for your efforts. Congratulations.
Incidentally, I visited only Perth many years ago while I was in Australia for less than a week. It's a nice, pleasant and peaceful place.
Being new to trying to contribute information to wikipedia, there are obviously many things to learn. I can only try to help put in information in the topics that I'm a little familiar with. If I'm not doing it correctly, your guidance is appreciated.

Greetings to you again. We are actually only about five hours apart, a pretty small world. Five hours meaning, if I flew from where I am to Perth, the flight would take about 5 hours.

Thanks for making spelling corrections in Wikipedia. However, there are several problems with the approach that you are taking. One is that you should not correct spelling in signed comments on talk pages - it is a user's comment and it is considered rude to make spelling corrections to it. The second is that your edits sometimes make it difficult to revert vandalism. For example your edit to [[Emperor Penguin] masked some vandalism that had occurred before (see the previous diffs) so it was much harder to remove the vandalism. Frankly, if you were reading the text, the vandalism at the end of the paragraph you were editing - "sean is cool" - should have been obvious. Automated spell-checking is a very bad idea if you don't check the results before you hit save; not just for that reason but because you might have changed the spelling of a quote or some foreign name. For example, "Moreso" is a legitimate name used in the article Pompeu Fabra University. Graham87 11:47, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
