GenScript Biotech remove the {COI}tag request[edit]

Hi Go4thProsper, I see in Oct 2020, you add the {COI}tag on the Wiki item "GenScript Biotech", it shows that " This article needs additional citations for verification". Since I have already provided the supporting citation on where marked the "citation needed", can I remove the {COI}tag and {citation needed} tag? GenYouth (talk) 07:39, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I looked at the article in question and it appears the maintenance banner I added three years ago has been removed, but has been replaced by a more thorough and detailed banner. The issues raised in that banner do not appear to have been resolved. I would not support removing that banner. Go4thProsper (talk) 23:56, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am not sure if the "banner" you mentioned is the items listed on the top of the website, which called "This article has multiple issues".
Actually I agree with the comments that wikipedia item_GenScript Biotech have few unsolved issues now. BUT what I mean is that I have already add the support citation link for those "citation needed" part. Can I JUST remove one issue(This article needs additional citations for verification. (October 2020)) list in the banner? GenYouth (talk) 03:24, 29 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't need to remove the total banner, I only think if I can remove one item in it. GenYouth (talk) 03:28, 29 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It would be inappropriate for you as a WP:COI editor to remove any part of the message. You are doing the right thing by alerting the independent editors community about your concerns and point of view, but you’ll have to first achieve community consensus that the message should be modified, then find an editor willing to make the change recommended by the group. You are welcome to import appropriate public domain content to articles, but in order to meet the Wikipedia guideline on plagiarism, such content must be fully attributed. This requires not only acknowledging the source, but acknowledging that the source is copied. There are several methods to do this described at Wikipedia:Plagiarism#Public-domain sources, including the usage of an attribution template. Please make sure that any public domain content you have already imported is fully attributed. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 13:35, 9 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Removing red links[edit]

Red links aren't "dead"; they're red to let editors know an article is missing and could be created. I can't tell if you're aware of this and are actually removing only links to non-notable topics, but if so please use a better edit summary than "removed brackets to dead link". Otherwise, please consider the following template message:

Hello, I'm Paul 012. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that you unlinked one or more redlinks. Redlinks are useful and can often be helpful, so we don't remove them just because they are red. They help improve Wikipedia by attracting editors to create needed articles.

In addition, clicking on the "What links here" link (in the tools listed at the left in desktop view) on a missing article shows how many—and which—articles depend on that article being created. This can help prioritize article creation. Please only remove a redlink if you are pretty sure that it is to a non-notable topic and not likely ever to be created. Thanks! --Paul_012 (talk) 05:56, 10 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

National Memorial Park moved to draftspace[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to National Memorial Park. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:00, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation[edit]

Hello Go4thProsper, we need experienced volunteers.
  • New Page Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles. We could use a few extra hands on deck if you think you can help.
  • Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time but it requires a good understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines; Wikipedia needs experienced users to perform this task and there are precious few with the appropriate skills. Even a couple reviews a day can make a huge difference.
  • Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision (if it looks daunting, don't worry, it basically boils down to checking CSD, notability, and title). If this looks like something that you can do, please consider joining us.
  • If you would like to join the project and help out, please see the granting conditions. You can apply for the user-right HERE.
  • If you have questions, please feel free to drop a message at the reviewer's discussion board.
  • Cheers, and hope to see you around.

Merging Baldwin and Baldwin in France pages[edit]

Hello, Go4thProsper, Glad to see that you’re a Hoosier. I am a former Buckeye from right on the Indiana border. I have a question for you about the proposed merger of ‘Baldwin’ and ‘Baldwin in France’. Don’t you think the Baldwin in France article (which has more than 1800 words) would overload the ‘Baldwin’ article, which is massive at over 11,000 words? Thus, the combined article would be around 12,500 words. This puts it nearly in the zone where WP guidance on Article Length ( see WP:LENGTH) states that such an article ‘almost certainly should be divided or trimmed’. The current ‘Baldwin’ article is already in the zone, described in WP:LENGTH, as ‘probably should be divided or trimmed’. That is the reason I wrote a separate article to begin with. Would you be so kind as to retract your suggestion? Dr Dobeaucoup (talk) 08:51, 23 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Big win for us in women’s bball last night! To your question, yes that is a very real concern; however “merge” in my mind does not mean every word must remain. I actually think the Baldwin bio article is much too long already and should itself be trimmed. But that’s no reason not to merge. Baldwin is an important figure for sure, but not so much that his 62 years merit multiple articles, each of which are arguably much too long. Other editors are encouraged to weigh in and disagree, but in my opinion the articles should be merged and the overall product cut back in word count.
