Reply to Annoying Blue Message

I'm not the only person that has it. Check User:Dreamafter. After all, that's where I got it from. --Goodshoped35110s 00:38, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Hello, I am Dreamafter, and, if the only reason you don't like it is because it is annoying, and there is no policy against it, too bad. Take a look at Fir0002. On the left. Your Grace Lord Sir Dreamy of Buckland tm 12:20, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
Yes, you're right, there's no policy against it. I was wrong to say that Goodshoped could get in trouble; however, those boxes are definitely pretty disruptive and make reading your page kind of tough. Yours isn't quite as audacious as his was, though. So, you're right, I guess nothing will really come from it, but maybe you could take yours down anyway as a courtesy to those who view your page. Also, could you perhaps be a bit more civil on my talk page from now on? GlassCobra 13:07, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

IP vandal category

Hey man, looks like someone's replied to our discussion at Wikipedia talk:Vandalism#Category:IP addresses used for vandalism. Want to take a look? GlassCobra 12:07, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

I responded there. Incidentally, their concerns seem to be only about the specific criteria for inclusion. So hopefully a consensus may form about what the criteria for inclusion should be. - jc37 18:28, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

Thank you.

Thank you for removing the vandalism on my userpage back on the first of October. I can't believe I didn't even notice until today! ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 00:21, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

No problem, I'll keep an eye on your page for anything else that comes up. Stay well. GlassCobra 07:56, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

Why isn't all my posting appearing?

Hi, thanks for responding to my call for help and sorry for the delay in replying. I've submitted an entry on the Canadian Model of Occupational Performance which is a couple of hundred letters long. However, only the first sentence is publishing although the rest is evident in the editing section. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks very much, Daniellehitch —Preceding unsigned comment added by Daniellehitch (talkcontribs) 04:02, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

Hey again! Looks like you hadn't closed your reference tags. I went ahead and did all of them for you; the article should be fine now. Closing tags need a slash in front of them, like </ref>. If there's anything else I can help you with, let me know! GlassCobra 08:04, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks very much for helping a novice Wikipedian. Your assistance is greatly appreciated!! Daniellehitch —Preceding unsigned comment added by Daniellehitch (talkcontribs) 05:42, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
Sure thing. :) By the way, when you post on talk pages, make sure to put four tildes (~~~~) afterwards; this will sign them with your name and the date. Keep up the good work! GlassCobra 06:07, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism question

Hello GlassCobra: (cool name)

I'm encouraged to leave my question here by your recent reply to Diego about vandalism.

The pages for reporting vandalism and related problems are confusing, as they seem to lead around in circles. (I can explain in more detail, but you may already know what I'm talking about.)

For example, I can't figure out where to report this issue:

I noticed that 216.56.42.62 has vandalized a few articles recently, but has no warnings on talk. I didn't post a warning because I did not revert the vandalism. Should I? I don't think following a trail of vandalism and posting delayed warnings is something I should do.

Have you any advice about a) where best to report this sort of thing in future, and b) what if anything to do about 216.56.42.62  ?

Thanks, Wanderer57 17:57, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

Hey Wanderer, thanks for the compliment on my name! You're right about 216.56.42.62 vandalizing articles; however, it looks like he or she has only vandalized one talk page recently, and he or she also reverted that edit. So you can see it, I've put {{uw-selfrevert}} on their talk page, under the October 2007 heading. You can report obvious and persistent vandals at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Before posting there, a final warning in an escalating series should have been posted to the user's talk page (for example {{Uw-vandal4}}, {{Uw-spam4}} or {{Uw-speedy4}}), and the user must have vandalized within the last few hours, including after the final warning was given him or her. Various warning templates can be found at Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace. Your block request is unlikely to be acted upon unless you follow these steps. Cases that are not simple vandalism can be reported at WP:AN/I. Of course, in conjunction with warning against and reporting vandalism, you have the ability, mandate and are encouraged to revert all instances of vandalism you find yourself. So, in the future, if you see IPs or users vandalizing consistently, make sure that they've gotten a final warning, and if they keep vandalizing, you can go ahead and report them. If you have any more questions, feel free to contact me! GlassCobra 20:23, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

About my redirects

Hi, GlassCobra. I remember you putting, let's see, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 8 of my redirects up for discussion. It's surprising that Totani-chan, the first one to be put up for discussion, is the only redirect to have survived being put up for discussion. Don't you think? Please respond on my talk page.Kitty53 18:16, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

Hey Kitty, I'm sorry if I offended you by putting your redirects up for discussion; however, I felt that many of them didn't really serve any purpose and were merely taking up space. To be honest, I can't say that I'm really surprised that most of them did end up being deleted. Again, I didn't do any of this as a personal attack on you. Hope we can still be friends. GlassCobra 20:28, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
Of course, we're still friends! The putting things up for discussion will never interfere with out friendship! Please respond on my talk page.Kitty53 01:10, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
Okay, good to know. By the way, I think I've mentioned this to you before, but you don't have to create a new section every time you write on someone's talk page. If it's about the same topic, you can go ahead and respond in the same section. Just indent your comments by putting a colon in front of them. :) GlassCobra 01:16, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

WP:RAD

Hey man, I just realized that I never left you a note that I put your redirect up for discussion, I'm really sorry. You probably thought I was a total jerk! Well, again, I'm sorry, and I didn't mean any offense toward you. GlassCobra 22:18, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

I'm not dirty on you. I kind of expected it'd happen sometime, but did think I'd have a notice given, and that's why I put pressure on the admin who deleted it to reinstate it until a bot converted all of the occurrences to my page. I was kind of unhappy at the time, but now I'm somewhat bla se. --lincalinca 01:08, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
Well, I'm glad you're not...er, dirty on me. Hope everything works out okay. GlassCobra 01:14, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

"Sleep"

Bah, you're not sleeping at all! I just saw you on AIV. :P Anyway, I'll idle in the room, I tend to leave my computer on, even when I'm not there. Talk to you soon! GlassCobra 06:31, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

Well, by "sleep" I actually meant "vandal-fighting"...um...y'see, I received a sleep root command from Unimatrix Zero....and you know..resistance is futile.. DreadstarBorg 06:45, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

Hey, was looking at today's AFD page and noticed that this one had been closed as delete, but the link was blue. Seems like it's a recreation. Thought you might want to take a look. Thanks! GlassCobra 01:49, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

Jbeach56 beat me there. Thanks for letting me know! J Milburn 08:48, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

Ken Korda

Hey, you left an odd note about the Ken Korda article at the A W Neill Middle School AFD. Were you trying to nominate the Korda article for deletion? If there's some significance to the middle school article that I missed, my apologies. GlassCobra 21:51, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

Ah, I see what happened. I fixed the problem; whenever you nominate an article for deletion, make sure you follow all the instructions at Template:AfD footer, okay? Thanks! GlassCobra 21:58, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for fixing things, it all seems to have gone to pot and I'm very glad you sorted it! Tompagenet 10:47, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
No problem! GlassCobra 13:45, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

Re : Four Dragons Casino

Hey man, would you mind if I recreated this as a redirect to Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas? Or would you mind doing it? Seems to me that the term itself is worth having, just to save searchers a little time. Thanks! GlassCobra 05:51, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

No problem, redirects to relevant wider topics are always welcome unless it is explicitly disallowed in the AfD or deleted via RfD. - Cheers, Mailer Diablo 17:59, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
Looks great. Thanks! GlassCobra 18:04, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

This is quite mean. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Infoguardian (talkcontribs) 06:51, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

I apologize; I don't mean to cause any offense. I'm acting in the project's best interests; since your article seems likely to be deleted, it doesn't really serve any purpose to have references in other articles. GlassCobra 07:04, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Although i do appreciate some of your points. I just hoped that a place can still be found for the articles. I know that i am still in the early stages of my career. However, the Ola Kamel article is a different story, she was genuinely and heavily involved in political matters and achieved some fame locally. --Info Of Interest 06:58, 24 October 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Infoguardian (talkcontribs)

Yeah, the Ola Kamel one actually has some potential, I believe. Notice that I haven't removed any of the references that you've added about her in other articles. GlassCobra 07:04, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

I am an academic and i value rigour and accuracy, so i admit that i am finding it difficult to defend my article. The Ola Kamel one however I hope should stay, and I will try to add more documentation in time. --Info Of Interest 07:11, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

I've fixed up Ola Kamel, hopefully it will pass now. What do you think of my changes? GlassCobra

However, I do hope for the Ola-abaza article to remain atleast as a stub. Boys who want to do important things (and who have the potential capacity to achieve) are or should be notable, it is only a matter of time until you and other wiki editors accept that. Perhaps when third party references are available.--Info Of Interest 07:27, 24 October 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Infoguardian (talkcontribs)

People are not notable without verifiable references to prove it. One does not gain notability by wanting it, or having potential. GlassCobra 07:43, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
I understand and agree. Other people must define the person as notable. I am saying that in the future you will find my name archived for sure (well this is atleast the plan). I will fight for that. For my work and my name. --Info Of Interest 07:47, 24 October 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Infoguardian (talkcontribs)
I'm afraid that's not going to happen. From the looks of the AfD, your article will be deleted. I'm sorry, but Wikipedia just does not accept articles for subjects that aren't notable. Have you read our notability policy? GlassCobra 07:56, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Help with Canadian Model of Occupational 'Therapy' page

Thanks once again for your help with this, but I've just got one more question. While the heading of the article is Canadian Model of Occupational Performance, the main heading of the page is Canadian Model of Occupational Therapy (which is incorrect). How do I go about changing that main heading to the Canadian Model of Occupational Performance?

Thanks very much,

Danielle Hitch+ —Preceding unsigned comment added by Daniellehitch (talkcontribs) 21:41, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Hello again! Changing an article title is actually very easy, just hit the "move" tab up at the top of the page, and it'll ask you where you would like to move the page to. Just put in the proper title, and hit "Move page"! Let me know if there's anything else I can help with, okay? Good luck! GlassCobra 21:52, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
Hey there, it's been a couple days and I noticed that you hadn't moved the page, so I went ahead and did it for you in the interest of the article's correctness. Hope that's okay! GlassCobra 17:22, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

T-Rock

You found some Lil Weavah sources and references. T-Rock is about as known as Lil Weavah; you think you can dig some sources and shit up for me so I can make the page again? --L-Burna (talk) 18:52, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, sure, I'll give it a shot. You want me to actually make the article, or what? GlassCobra 23:02, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Naw, I got the article and shit saved on Notepad, I just can't find any sources. I'd really appreciate it if you got some sources for me. L-Burna 19:26, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Okay. Here's the deleted article, when you want to try re-creating it. Because it's a fairly common name, it was somewhat tough to find sources, but here's what I found:
This is a pretty cursory sweep, I didn't do a ton of digging. If you go looking for more stuff, make sure that it's not DJ T-Rock, who has some results as well. Good luck. GlassCobra 01:42, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks again, man. I have the article posted under Antonio Washington, so you can delete that User page. I'm gonna try to talk to an administrator and see if that will do, so thanks a lot. -- L-Burna 16:40, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Regarding the RfA

Hello there, thought you might like to know that I responded to your point about my comment at this RfA. However, in the interests of not derailing the page, I suggest that we take the conversation to our talk pages if you had anything further you wanted to say. Thank you! GlassCobra 06:42, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

It's sad--and yes, a bit disappointing--that RfAs have become such a big deal that if someone self-noms, or if dare to re-nominate themselves without the proper time of penitence or whatever, that they are rejected by the community. Especially when the user has clearly demonstrated he wouldn't be abusive with the tools, but would use them to better the project. That's the root of my disappointment, as I had thought from your answers that you understood how desperately the community needs solid admins. K. Scott Bailey 11:18, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
But it's not about penitence, it's about taking a step back and using the feedback from the RfA to better yourself as an editor and a community member. I understand his eagerness, I really do, but like I said, nominating yourself four times over just a few months suggests intentions that might not be best for Wikipedia. Like I said, people were actually opposing the RfA for the same reason that I was neutral, so I hope I haven't disappointed you too much. I was really grateful for the glowing comments that you wrote at my RfA, and I would hate to have your impression of me varnished. GlassCobra 13:27, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
No, my comments at your RfA stand. I think you will do a great job as an admin. It's just comments like these that leave me frustrated, not so much with you, but with the process that allows people to oppose (as you pointed out), or remain neutral (as you have done) based on this reasoning: "...nominating yourself four times over just a few months suggests intentions that might not be best for Wikipedia." How so? I don't get it. He wants to use the tools, and has shown no indication that he wishes them for ill means. I have not seen one person point to an instance where he has shown any inclination towards abusing the tools. K. Scott Bailey 13:36, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

Looks like we both got somewhat dissatisfying opposes... GlassCobra 19:41, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

<sigh> There's always a fly in the ointment, isn't there? But I have found this stuff in both our RfAs interesting, to tell the truth. Just when I thought I had the idea of what it was that people wanted to see before they gave me the mop, along comes someone with a different idea. I suppose what it means is, you can't please all of the people all of the time. Oh well. Chin up (or in my case, chins up). Accounting4Taste 22:00, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

EV-Nova.net

Hello, DA! It's Guest from the EV-Nova.net forums. I had no idea that you were even a member of Wikipedia until I saw your name on EVula's user page. I'm sure you were swamped with questions about what happened to our forums, but has there been any new information since it's been a few months? Drop me a line back whenever you get a chance. :) GlassCobra 06:23, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

I’ve told the boards everything I know about EV-Nova.net. Whatever happened, happened on its own without any intervention on my part, and it locked out administrative access just as it did the public site. Unfortunately, no one who still has any power over the site (whoever that might be) has shown any interest in changing it or explaining what happened.
With the forums having been closed this long, I don’t think much would be accomplished by re-opening them at this point (though I do have full backups), and most of the site’s content is now available elsewhere. I should get back to converting the Fact of the Day. :) David Arthur 14:37, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Alright, I'm definitely not blaming you for anything. We certainly had a good time. :) It's nice to see a familiar name on our wide interweb. Hope all is well with you, and feel free to drop me a line anytime! GlassCobra 14:42, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

Given that there's no Wikipedia article, why...

In the Norwottuck Rail Trail Bridge article, why did you replace the external link to Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc. with a link to a non-existant Wiki article? Are you about to create that article? - Denimadept 12:54, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

An inline external link to a corporation's own website is a form of low-level linkspamming. If the firm is not notable enough to have its own Wikipedia article, then there shouldn't be a link at all. --Orange Mike 13:09, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
Okay, I'm missing something here. An encyclopedia article is supposed to contain relevant information regarding a topic. Given the medium, a link to a company site seems appropriate in circumstances where an article on the company is not going to happen. Creating articles for every company obviously isn't going to happen, so I feel less-than-clueful. Enlighten me, please. - Denimadept 15:40, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
As Orange Mike said, external links aren't really appropriate in the inline text of an article, but I've added the company into the External links section. I may create the article at some point, considering my roommate just got an internship with them and could probably contribute significantly. GlassCobra 21:35, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

General of the Army (Russia)

Why did you revert that edit on the article for General of the Army (Russia)? - Shaheenjim 16:54, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

It was an edit from an IP that had previous vandalism history, and it looked like it was removing part of a perfectly valid sentence. If it's incorrect, you can go ahead and remove it. GlassCobra 16:57, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

Haha, sorry buddy. How does that whole nomming and co-nomming thing work, anyway? Like do you just write a co-nom statement when the RfA starts? Could you go and write a co-nom now if you still wanted? Can you even co-nom a self-nom? I really have no idea. Hit me back, will ya? :) GlassCobra 12:01, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
RAWR! I don't think co-nomming now would make a difference - generally the purpose of my noms is to try and win votes (eg. Dfrg.msc's). So yeah, go solo, ungrateful so and so :P — H2O —  07:30, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your good wishes, and you know you have mine right back atcha for 48 hours from now (try not to get into a flame war with any bureaucrats between now and then, okay?). I'll be sending out a set of notes thanking everyone who participated, as I understand is de rigueur, so I hope you'll accept this as my first one. And just think, in 48 hours you can make the front page say "Accounting4Taste is a big fat poo head" -- to quote my very first long-ago new page patrol deletion. Oh, the power!! Respectfully, about Hdt's RfA

This one is going to be close. You have stated the reasons for your "neutral" vote, and I respect that. However, I am respectfully asking you to reconsider in the light of how much only one vote means in such a close RfA. Hdt is not a problem user, and there's no reason to think he would abuse the tools. Please reconsider staying neutral on this one. Oh, and so you know, I'm not a Wikifriend of this user or anything. I had never met him before this RfA. I simply hate seeing solid editors get voted down by those who oppose (not you, the opposes) based upon some arbitrary standard. Thanks in advance for any time you spend reconsidering your neutral. Regardsm K. Scott Bailey 20:25, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Ah yes, I'm aware of that one, but I'd left it off on purpose. *shrug* It was originally to not have my real name right out there, but considering I link to my IMDB listing (and I've been addressed by my real name by vandals before), it's a moot point. Thanks for adding it. :) EVula // talk // // 07:49, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
Ahh, my bad, I should have figured you left it out on purpose, my fault. By the by, seeing as you do know me from various other intarnetz places (EV-Nova.net, Ambrosia, your old forums), do I qualify for inclusion in the "folks that I know from elsewhere" section? :) GlassCobra 07:52, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
I... but... wait, what's the username that I would know you best by? I just did a search for "GlassCobra" on the ASW boards but got nothing... at any rate, if you're a former Lair dweller (gee, I really should update the site sometime...), by all means, add yourself. :) EVula // talk // // 07:59, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I don't go by this name anywhere but here. On all those other places, I just went by Guest. Not really sure why, but I'm sure it drove everyone crazy. Heh. :) GlassCobra 08:07, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
Ah, now that name I do recognize. Yes yes, you definitely deserve to add yourself (just make sure you add the comment that you're Guest; I'm likely to forget, and go "why the hell is GlassCobra listed?" :) EVula // talk // // 08:08, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
Right, all done! Thanks very kindly for the vote on my RfA, and also congrats on hitting 22k! Personally, I can't even comprehend having that many... GlassCobra 08:13, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
If someone had told me that, after correcting a typo on my (then) girlfriend's high school's Wikipedia article would have led to twenty-two thousand en.wp edits, adminship on three wikis (coming up on the 1-year mark here on en.wp), and accounts on more than 160 different WMF wikis (not to mention editing in roughly 90 different languages), I would have told them that they were crazy. Instead, I just tell people that I'm crazy. EVula // talk // // 08:19, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
Well, to be honest, sometimes I still have a tough time wrapping my brain around even my 5,000, but...anyhow, I'm glad we've got really dedicated (if a tad crazy) people like you around! I've got to get a little shuteye, as I've got work tomorrow, but nice catching up with you, and feel free to drop me a line anytime! GlassCobra 08:37, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Thank you!

I give you this award for your fantastic userpage; probably the most impressive I've ever seen. Are you a graphic designer? GlassCobra 04:16, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Many thanks for the award, I'll have to add it to my awards page when I finally get it up ;) Right now most links are redirects because I haven't created the subpages, but I'm glad you liked the design.
I don't consider myself a professional graphic designer, no, but I have created numerous illustrations and photos for the Commons and I have fiddled around with web design a bit. All as hobbies, however, and I can't say I'm particularly skilled at any of the fields; just got an idea for that particular userpage one day and ran with it :D -- Editor at Largetalk 09:16, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
Well, like I said, I'm really impressed. Well done indeed! GlassCobra 09:53, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Your comparison is highly offensive

Your comparision of LaraLove to a racist for saying a 12-year-old may not be mature enough to be an admin is highly offensive (see [1]). Ageism as it applies to young people is a highly controversial definition, not in the least when compared with something like racism which has killed and maimed so many people in our world's history. I hope you will apologize for this comment.--Alabamaboy 12:14, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Hey Alabamaboy, I apologize profusely if I offended you at all. I understand your oppose at my RfA; I've replied to your note and hope you will reconsider. Thanks. GlassCobra 15:07, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia has a new administrator!

Admin IRC channel

Thank you very much! Are you the guy to talk to about access to the IRC admin channel, or is that Deskana? Thanks again! GlassCobra 23:42, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

I didn't even know there was an admin IRC channel. Try Deskana. Cheers, Cecropia 00:48, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Good show, and good luck

From the admins I know (I'm not one, and I don't really want to be), adminship is a pretty thankless job. I'm sure you'll do a really great job with the tools. As for Hdt, it's unfortunate that it looks as if his RfA is going to be unsuccessful. From all I can see, he would have been a solid admin, very helpful to the project. Perhaps in a few months, people will be more open-minded about him. I do appreciate your willingness to look at it again, though, as this shows you're not rigid in your thinking. As I said initially, though, whatever you chose to do wouldn't have changed my opinion of your track record, and your potential to be a really great admin. Regards, K. Scott Bailey 01:00, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

RFA

Hey GC, congrats. I'm not the kind of guy that would oppose over the IRC thing. You sincerely apologized and I accepted and that was the end of it. RlevseTalk 01:25, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Whoops!

Apparently I forgot to participate in your RfA. It's too late now but still:

  1. Support Great work, so great I'm almost certain that this RfA will pass! Húsönd 01:40, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

I took your advice and created an account. I'm sort of a n00b at this, so let me know if I do something wrong. 01:30, 5 November 2007 (UTC) RC-0722 8:29 P.M. ET

Hey, GlassCobra: I took the liberty of welcoming User:RC-0722 for you since you were kind enough to unblock him for what appears to have been a misunderstanding. Cheers, Pigmanwhat?/trail 02:46, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
Uh-oh. I think I got confused between an IP editor and this one. Oh well, welcome messages all around! And congrats and good luck on using the mop and bucket! Pigmanwhat?/trail 05:28, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Hey there, good to see ya! I'm glad you decided to create an account. :) If you've got any questions about using our site, check out those links from Pigman up above, or you can ask at the help desk, or you can just drop me a line on my talk page! Happy editing! GlassCobra 03:16, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

About your RfA

Congratulations on your successful request for adminship. I'm glad you passed, and you're welcome for the support. Don't forget to view the school for new admins as well. Good luck! :) Acalamari 22:12, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Educationtiontastic. Enjoy the tools, and we'll have to sort out the MSN some time (I'm also on IRC now). — H2O —  08:14, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Congrats

Good to see you got the mop. I think that the actions on your RfA highlight that the community will get behind good contribtors like yourself. Good luck & best wishes. Twenty Years 03:46, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Notability of schools

Whilst I respect your opinions concerning the inherent notability of educational facilities, the place to debate this issue is not the AfD page. Please stick to actual, accepted wikipedia policy when opposing the deletion of articles and post any proposed alterations to school related policies at Wikipedia_talk:Schools/Defunct or Wikipedia_talk:Schools/Old proposal. Talk page cleanup

Thanks. :) How's the adminship going? I don't imagine you're as nervous about it as I was when I first started. :D --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:33, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Not too bad, I think. I've blocked a few IPs, made my way through part of the CSD backlogs, and even got to indef block a sockpuppet. Not first for the first day, eh? Haha. I do always imagine that I'm going to get something really wrong and get in a lot of trouble, though. I guess that sort of comes with the territory... GlassCobra 14:46, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
I suspect that nervousness does. :) I was sweating buckets the first time I blocked somebody, and I'm still not as comfortable with that aspect as I am the deletion process. My first (and thus far only) deletion review stung a bit, too, even though it was for new evidence & not procedural incorrectness. Anyway, I have no doubt you're doing a great job. :D --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:50, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Your RfA

Hey Alabamaboy! I wanted to thank you for participating in my request for adminship, which ended with 61 supports, 3 opposes, and 1 neutral. I wanted to apologize again if I offended you at all, and hope we can put this past us. Please feel free to call on me if you ever need any help or opinions! GlassCobra 02:57, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Not a problem. I wish you the best as an admin and if I can likewise every be of assistance, don't hesitate to let me know. Best, --Alabamaboy 18:35, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
