Images and origins[edit]

Hi, Gillian. I'm leaving this message on your talk page on Commons as well as on here, just to increase the odds that you see it.

All those images you've taken from Chronicling America and uploaded so as to illustrate articles about old newspapers - it's fine that you're doing it; however, you've made a major error several times.

If you have an old scanned-in image of a newspaper front page from 1895, and then you download it from Chronicling America in 2014 and upload it to Commons in 2014... the "date created" is 1895, not 2014. The source is the exact URL at Chronicling America, not "own work". And the author of that image is the editor of that newspaper in 1895 (which may well be "unknown"), not "Gillian Gillian".

I'm going through all your uploads and correcting them; this is just so that you know better next time. DS (talk) 15:50, 28 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Gillian.gillian. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Prairie Farmer".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|User:Gillian.gillian/Prairie Farmer}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Hello, Gillian.gillian. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "The Express".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 10:01, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
