Hi Geraldo Im Alfredo and I wrote Kevin Smith is a fat ass on the magnolia article. Thanks for deleting it and Im sorry for writing. And by the way you found it 2 minutes after I wrote it.You are good.

Challange[edit]

Hi Geraldo I think what you do is great and I challange you to delete the things Im about to do to some articles. Every article that I vandalise would have your name Geraldo. It's just for fun. So let's start NOW. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Alfredosolis (talkcontribs) .

Block Alfredo![edit]

Interesting that Alfredo would show up on your user page. Of the very few articles I watch, he keeps vandalizing four of them--he repeatedly adds and re-adds images with no copyright information. On the Chas Tenenbaum and Royal Tenenbaum pages, for instance, he has now re-added the same images three times after they've been removed by OrphanBot. --Miss Dark 03:51, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mistaken vandalism[edit]

I am not the original owner of this IP address, my ISP just assigns them randomly. I have checked the vandalism warning from False Prophet, which applies to the former owner of this IP address. According to Wikipedia's definition of vandalism: "Vandalism is any addition, deletion, or change to content, made in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of the encyclopedia.", the modifications by the former owner of the IP address were actually not vandalism since they did not compromise the integrity of the encyclopedia. I do not believe the changes to be much of importance, but I do believe it was not vandalism. I do not know if it is possible to do so, but since I'm the new owner of the IP, I therefore request the removal of that warning. Why not asking False Prophet? The reason is simple: he is in vacation and you have posted on my user talk.

Hi Gdo01, just reminding you of an AWB rule:

  • Avoid making insignificant minor edits such as only adding or removing some white space, moving a stub tag, converting some HTML to Unicode, removing underscores from links (unless they are bad links), or something equally trivial. This is because it wastes resources and clogs up watch lists.

See you around! —Mets501 (talk) 15:01, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Yorzan.JPG)[edit]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Yorzan.JPG. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fritz S. (Talk) 16:29, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

8th mistake.[edit]

The edit I made to the Hungarian Bridge page was not vandalism, nor uneeded. It is factual information, which most likely was the cause for the entire revision of the vote. --Real tymer 21:32, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Borderline Personality Disorder[edit]

It does look like vandalism, but if you look at the talk page for BPD (the section about Famous Borderline Personalities), you'll see why the user removed the section--which was only added yesterday and was immediately debated. Northern M0 Danube bridge[edit]

Not used to having my images reverted before I even finish uploading them. Special thanks to you for your efforts in fighting the recent outbreak of vandalism on the Barack Obama article. There is a newly posted proposal at the bottom of the article's talk page to put the article under semi-protect status. Given that the article appears to be closely watched, I hope that this will not be necessary, as at least some "drive-by" edits are helping to improve the article. But as you have been doing most of the heavy lifting, I think your opinion carries important weight and I encourage you to express it on the talk page. Thanks again. --HailFire 09:16, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Human rights and Social justice[edit]

Pro-choice being considered human rights or social justice is a matter of opinion, it does not belong on wikipedia. Please remove those categories from the article. 75.3.50.41 02:40, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why should I answer that? I do not think genocide should be put in, I think Social justice and Human rights should removed, because that is opinion and it is bias to include them but not include the views of others. Wikipedia articles are not the place for you to express your personal beliefs. 75.3.50.41 02:46, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I would suggest that human rights be kept, social justice removed. That the pro-choice movement aims to grant people additional freedom, hence additional rights, can be asserted regardless of one's personal POV. The social justice category, however, makes a value judgment about the subject. --tjstrf 03:03, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

John Edwards article[edit]

You made an edit to my work on the John Edwards page, that is factually incorrect. I have reverted your mistake there is no need to thank me. You can review your obvious mistake here: [4]. Unfortunately, you might be confused about President Bush's position on stem cell research because most newspaper and TV reporters either do not know what they are talking about OR they are biased and they know the truth, but refuse to report it properly. We all know that Bush opposes embryonic stem cell research. But what most people don't know is that Bush supports adult stem cell research and cord blood stem cell research. Bush is the first President of the U.S. that signed a bill funding embryonic stem cell research. As a matter of fact, President Clinton is the President that signed the law to ban the federal funding of embryonic stem cell research. Yes, I know that if you read the popular press you would get a different point of view. But it just is not so. Please review the Stem Cell page for more information. Have a good day.--Getaway 02:27, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that the mentions should be consistent, but I think that having them is important. just an idea[edit]

I was looking through the history of one of the Lost pages and noticed one of your recent reversions - it wasn't to mine, but I wanted to make a suggestion. When I see something that needs a cite, I just put in [citation needed], and it puts a marker saying "Citation needed" - this seems to me to be more constructive than just a blanket RV. I don't know what the official rule is, but putting a marker for a citation alerts the community that something needs to either be cited or removed, and then remove it in a couple weeks if nobody has come forth with a cite. I just think that if new users are making efforts that aren't quite right, it would be better to be polite and note what can be made better than just erasing it, so they don't get discouraged or offended. Star Trek depictions[edit]

Your artistic renditions of Kira and Sisko are appreciated but how do they help the article? According to WP:Images, an image should be "relevant to the article they appear in and be of sufficient notability (relative to the article's topic)." The images you placed were just fan art done by yourself. I know you are an admin but I still do not see any rationale for fan art done by the user themselves should be on an encyclopedic page. Gdo01 00:58, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Revert rule[edit]

Hey, I'm not sure this is the place where to reach you.

I got a cuple of messages from you telling me to stop editing pages. What's the deal with that?

What happened is the following: I edited one page to make a link and then the link page. Then the page got deleted twice, and all I did is replace the stuff I wrote on it. Is that against the rules? What-s the logic behind that? Anyway, why are YOU telling me what to do?

Again, I'm not sure how this goes so please explain me what's going on. thanks. User:barbabarba

Please see WP:3RR. Basically you can only revert to your version of an article three times. The purpose of this is to restrict edit wars like the one that is occurring on your page and Borat. Gdo01 07:29, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

Ok thanks, but I still don't understand the following: 1-what would you recomment then? I made a page with NEW info that others might find useful (which is the purpose of the whole site) and this guys keep deleting it and redirecting it to the page I stemmed it from, for no good reason (he just deletes the info I edited, he doesn't include them where he claims they should be instead).

Ok, thanks for the explaination, I appreciate the work and effort. I guess I won't be editing that info again since it seems it'a nich nich.

V for Vendetta as an anti-modernist film[edit]

I have put the following message on the V for Vendetta discussion section, concerning your question regarding the suppose anti-modernism in V for Vendetta:

Someone asked me why V for Vendetta is a anti-modernist film, since I put that term as a category. Here is my opinion.

I believe that even though the plot of this movie is set in a futuristic society, its argument is a clear protest on how society is developing. It is not only just a warning; it is also a critique on the ways things are being conducted in the present time. I mean, it is clear the connections concerning America and its suppose propaganda machine. Even if you don't accept that connection as clear, you have to understand, as it is part of the own plot, that there is a reference to the media as being use to fool people. Nancy Pelosi Vandalism[edit]

I have recently reverted yet another act of vandalism directed at the Nancy Pelosi article. Based upon the article's edit history, I noticed that you have reverted vandalism in the article more than once in the last day. Considering the recent spike in vandalism, would a request for page protection be in order? I would make the request myself, but unfortunately, I am unfamiliar with the procedure for making a request. --TommyBoy 18:59, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for following up on my request so quickly. --TommyBoy 19:21, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry[edit]

WP:AIV: I tried to revert myself, but you did first. The history kept staying the same no matter how many times I used popups, I tried refreshing my browser cache, but it still didn't change, so I decided to do it manually. It then turned out the popups did work, so I had already reverted it, but I did an extra revert, which took place slightly after you reported a user, thusly, I accidentally reverted you. That will most likely be the most confusing thing you will ever hear. —The Great Llama talk 20:17, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Posting a link to places to live on a city-page shouldn't be considered bad. That's on topic-- the people going to that page want to know about Gainesville. So what's up with that? Also, I think that No Idea Records should be allowed-- that's one of Gainesville's only indie record labels (though I didn't add that one). It's no more commercial than the links to the radio stations.
