Oblivion

Hey, I noticed your comments on the latest Oblivion FAC discussion (which is now nearly a year-old). I'm trying to get the article ready for another FAC, and I think I've addressed most of the unresolved issues in the previous discussion. If you have time, can you do some source spot checks on the article? It seems that source issues were the main reason why the FAC didn't pass last time.--Futuretrillionaire (talk) 16:01, 21 January 2013 (UTC)

Frog Fractions GAN

Hi Gary, I'm reviewing the Frog Fractions article at GAN. There are only a few small issues to be taken care of, as noted on the review page. Address them and I can pass the article. WesleyDodds (talk) 09:39, 26 January 2013 (UTC)

Main page appearance: The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth II

This is a note to let the main editors of The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth II know that the article will be appearing as today's featured article on March 2, 2013. You can view the TFA blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/March 2, 2013. If you prefer that the article appear as TFA on a different date, or not at all, please ask featured article director Raul654 (talk · contribs) or his delegates Dabomb87 (talk · contribs), Gimmetoo (talk · contribs), and Bencherlite (talk · contribs), or start a discussion at Wikipedia talk:Today's featured article/requests. If the previous blurb needs tweaking, you can change it—following the instructions at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests/instructions. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. The blurb as it stands now is below:

The "One Ring" in The Lord of the Rings

The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth II (BFMEII) is a real-time strategy video game by Electronic Arts. It is based on the fantasy novels The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien and the Lord of the Rings live-action film trilogy. The game is the sequel to Electronic Arts' 2004 title The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth. The Windows version of the game was released on March 2, 2006, and the Xbox 360 version was released on July 5, 2006. In the game, the Good Campaign focuses on Glorfindel, an Elf who, with help from the Dwarves and other Good forces, attempts to eliminate Sauron and his army to restore peace in Middle-earth. In the Evil Campaign, Sauron sends the Mouth of Sauron and the Nazgûl to muster wild Goblins as part of his plan to destroy the remaining Good forces with his army. BFMEII received generally favorable reviews from video game critics. Reviews praised the game's integration of the Lord of the Rings universe into a real-time strategy title, while criticism targeted the game's unbalanced multiplayer mode. BFMEII received numerous awards, including the Editors' Choice Award from IGN. (Full article...)

Starcraft Topic

Hi there. I'm letting you know that since StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm has been released, it grace period has started and if it doesn't reach at least GA status before June 12th, the StarCraft titles topic will be put up for FTRC. GamerPro64 20:32, 17 March 2013 (UTC)

Okay I'll try and finish that article if and when I am able to play and finish the game. Otherwise, it'll have to be delisted. Gary King (talk · scripts) 21:50, 17 March 2013 (UTC)

Local time comments on different skins

I left a question about using comments in local time on the modern skin, if you have any clues that'd be appreciated. ~ Amory (utc) 23:17, 17 March 2013 (UTC)

Nominations viewer

Hi Gary - Your nominations viewer script (which I love, BTW!) hasn't been working for me for the past few days. I'm Is this the case for everyone, or just me? I don't think I've changed anything on my end recently that would effect the script, so I'm hoping you might be able to help me get it back up and running. It makes it so much easier to scroll through the FAC/FAR/FLC pages! Thanks in advance, Dana boomer (talk) 12:19, 11 May 2013 (UTC)

The problem was caused by edit links moving from right to left. Should be fixed now. Tell me if it isn't. Gary King (talk · scripts) 02:09, 12 May 2013 (UTC)
Looks good, thanks so much! Dana boomer (talk) 13:24, 12 May 2013 (UTC)

Topics

Think you should worry about this, and draft some people to assist with StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm (and maybe StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void, as fixing one gap but not another wouldn't help). igordebraga 18:19, 15 June 2013 (UTC)

Feel free to do so. I don't have the time though. I can help out here and there with some copyediting though. Gary King (talk · scripts) 19:07, 15 June 2013 (UTC)

Request to take part in a survey

Hi there. I would very much appreciate it if you could spend ~2 minutes and take a short survey - a project trying to understand why the most active Wikipedia contributors (such as yourself) may reduce their activity, or retire. I sent you an email with details, if you did not get it please send me a wikiemail, so that I can send you an email with the survey questions. I would very much appreciate your cooperation, as you are among the most active Wikipedia editors who show a pattern of reduced activity, and thus your response would be extremely valuable. Thanks! --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 11:22, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

Main Page appearance

Hello! This is a note to let the main editors of the article List of mergers and acquisitions by Google know that it will be appearing as the main page featured list on August 12, 2013. You can view the TFL blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured list/August 12, 2013. If you think it is necessary to change the main date, you can request it with the featured list directors The Rambling Man (talk · contribs), Dabomb87 (talk · contribs) or Giants2008 (talk · contribs), or at Wikipedia talk:Today's featured list. If the previous blurb needs tweaking, you might change it—following the instructions of the suggested formatting. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. Thanks! Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 21:02, 6 August 2013 (UTC)

WP:FOUR RFC

There are two WP:RFCs at WP:FOUR. The first is to conflate issues so as to keep people from expressing meaningful opinions. The second, by me, is claimed to be less than neutral by proponents of the first. Please look at the second one, which I think is much better.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 06:33, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

The Simpsons: Hit & Run - TFA appearance

Hello, this is just a brief note to let you know (as if you needed to be told, having nominated it yourself at WP:TFAR!) that The Simpsons: Hit & Run will be appearing as Wikipedia:Today's featured article/September 16, 2013. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. If the blurb needs tweaking, or if it needs rewording to match improvements to the article between now and its main page appearance, please edit it, following the instructions at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests/instructions. I hope that the TFA appearance goes smoothly. Regards, BencherliteTalk 19:56, 4 September 2013 (UTC)

Open to the RfA?

Coming back to you after quite a long time. Would this be an appropriate time to encourage you to go for an RfA? Regards. Wifione Message 19:20, 17 September 2013 (UTC)

Nope sorry. Once you see me active on Wikipedia, then that's when I'll most likely be interested in an RfA. For now though, I'm happy just doing minor edits every few days. Gary King (talk · scripts) 01:30, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the response. Regards. Wifione Message 06:18, 18 September 2013 (UTC)

Facebook for GA again (and maybe FA!)

Hi Gary King, I saw you are one of the most recent editors to make significant contributions to the Facebook article, and got it to GA status some years back. It seems to me that the reasons for it being delisted have been addressed, so it could very likely be an easy GA pass. Given it's one of the most popular articles on Wikipedia, I'm hoping to persuade you to nominate it. I'd be happy to review it there, but it wouldn't be right for me to nominate it given I haven't edited it at all. What do you think? Maybe we can even get it up to FA this time around and have it featured on the main page. Best, Lemurbaby (talk) 02:08, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

Sorry but I don't have time to work on the article at the moment. Maybe in the future! Gary King (talk · scripts) 02:42, 14 October 2013 (UTC)
