RE: Chief Inspector

Hello Gaia Octavia Agrippa

I noticed you added the rank slide, to the Chief Inspector article. Thanks for that, its always helpful to have a picture due to words only being so valuable when trying to describe a picture. Many thanks, Police,Mad,Jack (talk · contribs) 17:20, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Response to Adoption Offer

Thank you for your offer to accept me - I would love to take you up on your offer should you still be free enough to do so (I see above that another user has also accepted an offer of adoption). I'm particularly interested in article creation, WP policies and finding my niche here as I've got a handle on the basic editing thing but I'm sure we can work out the details together. Looks like you might be full

Haha, if you are fine with three adoptees I would be happy with being adopted... only thing is i dont see how i accept. Guess my mentoring begins early. If you are now overbooked then, its cool Huck1eberrie (talk) 01:48, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

Re: Adoption

Hi Gaia, thanks for the adoption offer. I've been a WP for about 2 months, editing anonymously. I created a user name because you know of all the benefits. So far I think I know the "basic" stuff like a bit of wiki markup, making articles, e.t.c. I'd like to learn some of the advanced stuff. I see you already have 3 adoptees, so I dunno if you'll be able to cope with four. If its ok with you maybe I'll have a co-adopter. Drop me a message on my talk whether you're adopting me or not. Thanks. Arjun G. Menon (talk · mail) 16:09, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

Move

Please move the Texas Chain Saw page back. What you created is not correct, per the film naming conventions. The split "Chain Saw" is only referring to the 1973 film, NOT the 2003 film. Please revert you edits.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 19:24, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
