Welcome and introduction

Hi, Flightx52. This is NOT some automated message...it's from a real person. You can talk to me right now. Welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed you've just joined, and wanted to give you a few tips to get you started. If you have any questions, please talk to us. The tips below should help you to get started. Best of luck! Shearonink (talk) 23:05, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

ようこそ
  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup#2009.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

September 2010

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit that you made to the page Talk:Omar Abdullah has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Please use the sandbox for testing any edits; if you believe the edit was constructive, please ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing for further information. Thank you. Access Denied 02:35, 14 September 2010 (UTC)Sorry, I was trying to revert the same edit you were, but huggle reverted yours instead... Access Denied 02:37, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

No problem. I guess its a competition to see who can revert edits faster! Good luck! Although those "pesky" bots sure do have an advantage! :) Flightx52 (talk) 02:39, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

Your recent edits

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you must sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 21:04, 26 September 2010 (UTC)

This message is appearing because your signature doesn't link to your user page or user talk page. This is considered wrong. Please modify the sig back to the way it used to be so that others don't have to manually type in your talkpage URL. Soap 10:21, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
Okay well, there has to be a way to change my sig and have it link to my user page rather than just have it blue. I know theres a way, I see it all the time all over Wikipedia. If you could simply direct me to a WP guideline on how to do that, or tell me how, that would be great. Thanks! User:Flightx52 21:54, 27 September 2010 (UTC)

October 2010

In a recent edit to the page User:HJ Mitchell, you changed one or more words from one international variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. Access Denied [FATAL ERROR] 02:57, 1 October 2010 (UTC)

Non-free files in your user space

Hey there Flightx52, thank you for your contributions. I am a bot, alerting you that non-free files are not allowed in user or talk space. I removed some files I found on User:Flightx52/NGEN Radio. In the future, please refrain from adding fair-use files to your user-space drafts or your talk page.

  • See a log of files removed today here.

Thank you, -- DASHBot (talk) 05:01, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

Reviewer permission

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged revisions, underwent a two-month trial which ended on 15 August 2010. Its continued use is still being discussed by the community, you are free to participate in such discussions. Many articles still have pending changes protection applied, however, and the ability to review pending changes continues to be of use.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under level 1 pending changes and edits made by non-reviewers to level 2 pending changes protected articles (usually high traffic articles). Pending changes was applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't grant you status nor change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 15:17, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

Unconstructive?

Just a short note that this edit was in fact not unconstructive. I just watched the short to confirm, and the weighting machine in question is indeed talking. No big deal, I know it's difficult to distinguish useful contributions from unconstructive ones. (Also, and please don't take this the wrong way, but I find it slightly amusing that the template you used when alerting the user suggests using a constructive edit summary, which I note that you didn't do when reverting.) --Mepolypse (talk) 00:31, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

AHH! Sorry. I'm a new Huggle user. But a talking weighing machine just didn't seem right:P But anyway, sorry again. And not taking it the wrong way, but how was my edit summary not constructive? Its the standard Huggle one for vandalism... O: Hmmm... I'm Flightx52 and I approve this message 04:16, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
I don't know what Huggle is, but when reverting you should preferably always explain why you're reverting, per WP:FIES. Even if it's just with a word like "vandalism", at least then other editors know that's what you consider the edit to be. --Mepolypse (talk) 10:05, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
Huggle is an application for dealing with vandalism. See WP:Huggle. I just simply used the standard huggle vandalism edit summary. But eh, I don't know. I'l just take your advice. Thanks. I'm Flightx52 and I approve this message 13:27, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
