Possible conflict of interest[edit]

Hello Flames2011. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Laura Interval, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about following the reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  1. Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  2. Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  3. Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  4. Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 15:01, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

help me[edit]

I would like to remove this page completely! How can I do this? Thank you!--Flames2011 (talk) 05:57, 10 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you'd like this, your talk page, deleted then you can put {{db-user}} at the top of the page and an admin will be by to delete it. If you have any questions about this, you can post a question either here or on my talk page. Thanks, Dismas|(talk) 06:10, 10 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Now that I look at your contributions a bit more closely, are you referring to your efforts to delete the article on Laura Interval? Dismas|(talk) 06:14, 10 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes! Sorry I wasn't clear. I am trying to delete the Laura Interval Wikipedia page completely. Thank you! --Flames2011 (talk) 10:14, 10 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. As you might have seen, I've done some editing to it. I also moved it to Laura Stepp since that's what her IMDb page lists her as. If a person is known by one name over any others, then that's what the article should be titled. Since she is credited as Stepp, that's what I've moved the article to. I can't find any reliable sources that refer to her as Interval. I've pared it down to what can be sourced.
As it is, Interval/Stepp is barely notable. Since the article has had several edits made to it by a few different editors, it can't be speedily deleted. It could be put up for a deletion discussion though. I can help you through that process though I'm not at all certain why it should be deleted.
By the way, you can dispense with the Help Me template. I'm watching this page and will see when you've updated it and answer whatever questions you have.
Oh, and if you truly are Stepp/Interval, then you should see Wikipedia:AUTO#Problems in an article about you. Dismas|(talk) 10:42, 10 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Help me![edit]

Please help me with...I am trying to add new information to Latham Gaines' page. I substantiated it with news articles as a reference. It was all removed. Can you tell me why and how best to add this info back to his page? Thank you.

Flames2011 (talk) 21:34, 20 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Flames2011, you have made a few mistakes which have resulted in your edits being reverted. First, you did not add references, but external links. See WP:REFB for information about adding references. The second issue is that you were using rather FLOWERY language with your addition; "among the dozens of products [he] invented" is rather promotional. A better way to say it would be "He has developed various products such as". Remember that anything added needs to have specific references, so if you're claiming that he created product XYZ, there should be a reference specifically mentioning him as its creator. If you want more help, stop by the Teahouse, Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Primefac (talk) 22:05, 20 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
