Good job on the talkback template; however, you were supposed to use your own username, not mine. ;-) I dream of horses If you reply here, please leave me a Talkback message on my talk page. @ 03:02, 20 October 2014 (UTC)
Oh, thanks for letting me know! I've been here for a couple months, but I just recently switched to here. -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 02:40, 23 October 2014 (UTC)
I have a few abandoned accounts, too. By the way, talkback templates aren't designed to be in a "section header". I dream of horses If you reply here, please leave me a Talkback message on my talk page. @ 03:26, 23 October 2014 (UTC)
Okay, thanks! I decided to make this for more of a fresh start, and to be a bit more active. -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 03:32, 23 October 2014 (UTC)

Your recent edits

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

 1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
 2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 04:08, 23 October 2014 (UTC)

That's weird - I haven't forgotten to sign a post yet, or at least I don't remember saving without a signature... -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 04:24, 23 October 2014 (UTC)
It does not recognize your signature as a sig, because images are not permitted in signatures per WP:SIGIMAGE. Please update your signature ASAP to remove the image. VQuakr (talk) 03:38, 26 October 2014 (UTC)

Whoa. You may want to read the rest of the signature guideline I linked above, particularly WP:SIGAPP. Signatures with font sizes that interrupt surrounding text could be interpreted as disruptive. VQuakr (talk) 05:43, 26 October 2014 (UTC)
WP:SIGIMAGE is policy, accordingly I have replaced all instances of with Fimatic (talk) per WP:SIGCLEAN. --Redrose64 (talk) 10:38, 26 October 2014 (UTC)
Okay, thanks :) I have a better one now which considers most of the rules. -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 19:58, 27 October 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for October 26

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Density matrix embedding theory, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Numerical. Dead end pages

Hi Fimatic. Thanks for adding links to the dead end pages. Next time you add them though could you please remove the dead end tag from the top of the page. I'm going through the dead end pages category and if you delete the tag from the pages it will remove them from the category and I'll know which ones you have already done. Thanks. Re: A page you started (Francis Glanville) has been reviewed!

Dear Fimatic, Thank you very much indeed for your very kind comments. One usually only hears anything when one's been judged to have done something wrong. Excellent to receive such positive comments from Wikipedia for once. Very much appreciated. All the very best. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vietnamvat (talkcontribs)

No problem! I've been curating pages, and when you mark pages as reviewed, there's a little space which has an option for you to type a message to the page creator. Once you review it, that message gets automatically sent to the creator's talk page - I've been leaving some notes. -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 20:23, 7 November 2014 (UTC)
But it's excellent that you bothered to do that: it really is encouraging. But, unfortunately it's also very, very rare. Thank you very much indeed. (talk)
I usually enjoy giving constructive criticism and good feedback, so I take advantage of that space. -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 20:29, 7 November 2014 (UTC)

I wasn't going to expect to find you here! In fact, my Fimatic pseudonym originated from moving accounts here on Wikipedia, as I wanted to keep Scratch and WP a bit separate. Anyways, hey there :) -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 18:46, 9 November 2014 (UTC)
I read your talk page and looked through your contribs; you seem to have a good understanding of Wikipedia! I've been using wikis for about 3-4 years, do you need any help with anything? -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 18:47, 9 November 2014 (UTC)
No, Not really, and most of my Experience is because I edited with my IP for quite a bit, Oh, and the name "Duonaut" is a wierd story, If you want me to tell you it. xD Duonaut  (talk | contribs) 18:49, 9 November 2014 (UTC)
Nice! Yeah, I've been using wikis for about 4 years now, and the first wiki I ever edited was Wiktionary (a sister project here), I think. -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 18:53, 9 November 2014 (UTC)

Rollback

Hi Fimatic. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

 • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
 • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
 • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
 • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
 • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Beeblebrox (talk) 19:21, 9 November 2014 (UTC)

Okay! I read WP:ROLLBACK before submitting my request, so I already know what it's used for and when you shouldn't use it. This'll make fighting vandalism easier for me; thanks! :) -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 22:28, 9 November 2014 (UTC)
Fimatic, I don't wish to dampen your enthusiasm, but the first reason, at least as a newbie, for wanting to contribute to Wikipedia is to create, expand , or otherwise improve articles. I hope you don't mind me pointing out therefore, that WP:PERM is admin territory. Non-admin comments are rarely helpful, and especially from new and inexperienced users. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 14:14, 13 November 2014 (UTC)
I'm highly aware of all of that, I just needed a more efficient way of revering vandalism because I was finding a lot. Also, although this account is only 3 weeks old, I've been editing for about 5 months with an IP and 3 months on my previous account. -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 16:37, 13 November 2014 (UTC)
I was referring to a comment of yours about an admin decision I made on another user's application. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 16:43, 13 November 2014 (UTC)
When I made that comment, I was just stating my opinion - I never meant for any of it to be taken into consideration. Sorry for any confusion! -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 16:44, 13 November 2014 (UTC)
PERM is not an election process like RfA. You can rest assured that admins do all the necessary research (they also have some special tools) before granting or declining a user right. Only in very exceptional cases are non-admin observations (NAO) required on those pages. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 16:53, 13 November 2014 (UTC)

BART to Oakland International Airport

Hello Firmatic, I understand your concern on the BART article. The reason I did the timely changes since the BART to Oakland International Airport is opening to the public on November 22. Many sections under BART to OAK had to be removed since the project is completed and will be opened to the public in a few hours. Please keep in account, I'm a beginner of editing Wikipedia articles and wasn't too aware of the number of edits that showed on the Wikipedia log.

The section under "BART to Oakland International Airport Automated Guideway Transit" article redirect is incorrect and was changed to "BART to Oakland International Airport" but you reverted back. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Salv007 (talkcontribs)

Okay, sorry! It's just that you removed a substantive amount of content without explaining why, so I reverted it and gave you the Uw-delete1 template. -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 17:39, 22 November 2014 (UTC)
You weren't wrong to do what you did, Fimatic – Salv007 deleted content that was currently under discussion at the BART article's Talk page. Which is why it's always best to check an article's Talk page before making relatively big changes like deleting or moving a section... --IJBall (talk) 18:35, 22 November 2014 (UTC)
Okay; I wasn't exactly sure if I'd made a mistake by doing that or not. -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 18:59, 22 November 2014 (UTC)

Orphan tag on a new article you patrolled ?

Yesterday I created a few articles, one of them Søren Peter Kristensen.

Hours later it was patrolled (by you), and received an orphan tag.

However while it was created as an orphan, another page was linking to it in less than 3 minutes.

(Also, within seconds from its creation, the article had a link to its Danish translation).

Is it not a glitch in the review tool (Wikipedia:Page Curation), that an actual reviewer hours later ends up placing an at that time no longer applicable tag on the created article ?

(An editor can avoid triggering this issue by creating a redlink prior to creating the article, but the issue is still there.)

Thanks.

Lklundin (talk) 12:11, 27 November 2014 (UTC)

Feel free to remove that tag if other articles now link to it. I added it because it was in the common issues section, so I added the tag and reviewed it. -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 17:39, 27 November 2014 (UTC)

A question about becoming a teahouse host

I'm thinking about becoming a teahouse host and I'm wondering, What are you supposed to put in the "Sign here" field? Duonaut (talk | contribs) 22:48, 7 December 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for having interest in the Teahouse program! I'd recommend that you'd get a bit more experience before coming a host, because it seems like you still have a bit more to learn about, and you're rather new. When you think you've gathered enough experience, feel free to become a host - put your username in the sign here field. -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 00:03, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
@Fimatic:I've been editing on my IP since (around) June though (I said that before in User talk:Fimatic#Hello!), So i'm not exactly new. :P Oh, and Thanks! Duonaut (talk | contribs) 00:15, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
No problem! However, there are some things that you may need to help out with that require having an account to do, such as participating in AfDs, voting in RfA, using Twinkle, preferences, etc. I'd recommend that you gain sufficient experience as a registered editor before becoming a host; as there are some things that you probably could help out in which are things that require an account. -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 00:36, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
Well, I participated in AfDs when i edited under my IP (I still edit under my IP occasionally), RfA's are probably similair to AfDs so I think I'm fine :P, I've used twinkle For a while and I know how to use the preferences. Oh, and also you misspelled things xD Duonaut (talk | contribs) 20:47, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
Awesome, those contributions are helpful. :) However, I still think that with only 300 edits, you should probably gain a bit more experience; I'd recommend to become a host in at least a month from now, and when you think that you're ready at that point. (Also, I fixed the typo, thanks for pointing it out!) -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 05:41, 13 December 2014 (UTC)

Deletion sorting

Hi Fimatic: Thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia. Just a note that I reverted your addition of the deletion sort for Football at the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Minnesota–Nebraska football rivalry discussion. The topic is about American football, rather than football. Cheers, NorthAmerica1000 02:55, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

Okay, thanks! Yes, I meant to sort that in an American football deletion discussion, but I couldn't find one after doing a couple of searches, so I just used that instead. -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 05:19, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

People delete sort category

Hi Fimatic: Just a note that per the Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/People page, it states, "Note: In most cases there is another more specific category than this one. Please use on these instead..." (scroll down on page for complete information). I noticed that in performing deletion sorting, you have added both the people delete sort along with other, more specific people-related ones (e.g. Bands and musicians, such as at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Paul Koehler, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Paul Marc Rousseau). Typically, the People delete sort page is used for subjects that don't fit into any of the other categories. Just a heads up, and thanks for your work in performing deletion sorting. NorthAmerica1000 18:06, 13 December 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know. When I delete sort biographies, I usually sort them to that and then a few others defining them (from now on, I won't use this unless there's nothing else to define them), I was adding them to there so it would fit into a category containing biography AfDs. -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 02:11, 14 December 2014 (UTC)

Hey- sorry that I didn't take it earlier, I got busy with a few things after I said that; I'll take it now. -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 00:35, 18 December 2014 (UTC)
I noticed that the survey mainly asks about your experience with the help spaces that you used when you started. I actually didn't use any starting help area, and I mainly got used to Wikipedia by contributing more as time went on; because most of the survey is comprised of help space questions, I don't think I can take the survey. Hi there. You've added a POV tag to Maharashtra Swaraj Party but haven't elaborated about it on the Talk page. Please start a section on the talk page elaborating on the claimed neutrality dispute. Thanks

I just wanted to thank you for writing such positive comments towards me on the controversial article Talk:2014 Sydney hostage crisis ([2]). My comments were querying a change to the name of the article, as every news report I have ever read about it has referred to it as some variation of the "chocolate shop hostage situation". Given that we have as many as 10-15 hostages in Sydney every single year, and there was another one in Sydney the day after this (which also made nationwide news), I thought that the name might be a bit misleading, and might hide the article. Oddly, the anger I have had directed at me in relation to this is exclusively in relation to this edit [3] I made to the related illridewithyou article, which so far 5 people have agreed is not a BLP violation at all, as it is a direct quote from a verifiable source, including by the person themselves. I have had no less than 11 threats in relation to that one edit, and the related questioning as to why I received that threat. It was nice to see someone being a bit sensible and generally nice in what appears to be a very controversial article. KrampusC (talk) 14:23, 28 December 2014 (UTC)

Would you kindly please explain this edit? Firstly, we are in the process of greatly expanding coverage of the South African Army, and for that we need WP:Red links, in full conformance with policy. Secondly, should you wish to try to edit military articles, I would ask you to gain some familiarity with the terminology eg Ordnance. Please (a) conform with policy and do not remove redlinks, and (b) do your homework!! Buckshot06 (talk) 04:03, 30 December 2014 (UTC)

First off, I'm sorry for that edit. As of now, I'm still rather new on Wikipedia, and I haven't read all of the policies (which I will very soon get to becoming familiar with, but I do know many of them). I hadn't been aware of the red-link policy yet, so thank you for familiarizing me with it. About the "spelling correction": I was working on a copyedit of the page, and I had copyedited 2 sections prior to that edit. When I was skimming the page for possible errors, I had noticed that in the lead. To be honest, I'm not too familiar with some military terms, and it's true that I probably should look up some of the related terminology before editing military articles. However, I'm not planning to work on military articles often, I was editing that page as a copyedit, as stated earlier. I wasn't very familiar with the Ordnance term at the time of the edit, so I "corrected" the mistake because I thought that the word was a typo of ordinance. Again, sorry for that edit, and I hope this got it sorted out. -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 02:10, 31 December 2014 (UTC)
Sure Fimatic, understood, that's fine. There is actually a wikipedia rule telling people Wikipedia:Please do not bite the newcomers. I'm sorry, I thought you were an older hand. Cheers and happy holidays!! Buckshot06 (talk) 02:20, 31 December 2014 (UTC)
It's fine, and thanks! -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 02:22, 31 December 2014 (UTC)

Reversion of edit on Talk:Athlete (band)

Hi, I see you reverted my setting an importance tag for WikiProject London at Talk:Athlete (band). Why was this?--DavidCane (talk) 23:25, 31 December 2014 (UTC)

I just noticed that - thank you for telling me. I've undone my edit, I accidentally reverted the edit and didn't notice... -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 23:37, 31 December 2014 (UTC)
I was using a small mobile device at the time of myself reverting that, so I probably meant to click another button but accidentally clicked rollback instead, and didn't notice. I'm sorry about that! -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 23:40, 31 December 2014 (UTC)
