Hello, Farhajking. Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions! I'm S.M.Samee, one of the other editors here, and I hope you decide to stay and help contribute to this amazing repository of knowledge.
Some pages of helpful information to get you started:
  Introduction to Wikipedia
  The five pillars of Wikipedia
  Editing tutorial
  How to edit a page
  Simplified Manual of Style
  The basics of Wikicode
  How to develop an article
  How to create an article
  Help pages
  What Wikipedia is not
Some common sense Do's and Don'ts:
  Do be bold
  Do assume good faith
  Do be civil
  Do keep cool!
Do maintain a neutral point of view
  Don't spam
  Don't infringe copyright
Don't edit where you have a conflict of interest
  Don't vandalize
  Don't get blocked
If you need further help, you can:
  Ask a question
or even:
Ask an experienced editor to "adopt" you

Alternatively, leave me a message at my talk page or type {{helpme}} here on your talk page, and someone will try to help.

There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:
  Fight vandalism
Be a WikiFairy or a WikiGnome
  Help contribute to articles

  Perform maintenance tasks
Become a member of a project that interests you
  Help design new templates

Remember to always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to this (your talk) page, and a timestamp.

The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!
To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own private sandbox for use any time. Perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.

Sincerely, User:S.M.Samee (talk) 19:02, 8 December 2012 (UTC)   (Leave me a message)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Hk uni.gif)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Hk uni.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Your recent edits[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 09:36, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption[edit]

Hi Farhajking. Welcome to the adoption program! Adoption is designed to give new users a helping hand in the form of a more experienced editor who can guide them through the process of editing Wikipedia. How it works varies depending on the needs of the adoptee; to begin with, I'll start with a fairly general approach which we can refine as time goes on.

To help you learn how Wikipedia works, I'd like to put you through Adoption school. Visit that page, and follow the instructions under "Your first task". After that, you can tackle the tasks and quizzes there at your leisure. You don't have to avoid your regular editing; do feel free to carry on working on Wikipedia as well. I'll cast an eye over your edits and talkpage every now and then, and leave you messages here if there's anything that I feel needs to be addressed.

If you run into any problems with other users, or have questions about how Wikipedia works, please do ask me on my talkpage; I'm here to help but have a number of other areas in which I work and so won't be monitoring you all the time. In the even that I'm not around, there are many other users willing to help; I recommend the Teahouse as a place to get a fast and friendly response.

I hope you enjoy the experience of being a Wikipedian, and look forward to working with you. All the best, Yunshui  10:03, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Teahouse talkback: you've got messages![edit]

Hello, Farhajking. Your question has been answered at the Teahouse Q&A board. Feel free to reply there!

Teahouse hosting[edit]

Hi Farhajking. I've removed you from the Teahouse's list of hosts - whilst your willingness to assist other editors is admirable, it's generally expected that Teahouse hosts be fairly experienced editors, with in-depth knowledge of some of Wikipedia's more obscure areas. I have no doubt that you'll make an excellent host there one day, but for now, concentrate on improving your own understanding of Wikipedia by helping to build the encyclopedia. I see that you are posting your questions both at the Help desk and the Teahouse. I don't see a reason for that. Please ask your questions at one place, which I recommend is the Teahouse. Thanks. --Ushau97 talk contribs 11:04, 10 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Repeating the same questions[edit]

Why do you keep asking the same questions again and again at different places such as the Help Desk, the Teahouse and also at individual editors' Talk pages? If you do not understand the answers you are given or you believe the answers are not properly addressing your questions please explain in detail exactly what the problem is. If you have difficulty expressing yourself in English you are welcome to request help in another language. Roger (talk) 11:11, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Commons delinker and article "reputation"[edit]

Hi Farhajking. Just so that you know, it's considered rather bad form here to ask the same question over and over in multiple venues - you've asked the same question about the effect of delinker edits in an article's history at the Helpdesk, the Teahouse, Amadscientist's talkpage, the Media Copyright board and possibly a few other places too. In the hopes of answering your query once and for all: no, the presence of any given edit in an article's history has no bearing whatsoever on the reputation or quality of the article itself or the article's subject. Many of Wikipedia's best articles have histories filled with vandalism, edit wars, inappropriate image removals, spelling errors and other such "bad" edits; it makes no difference whatsoever to the perception of these pages.

I hope that helps to clear the matter up. Please don't continue asking the same question over and over on multiple boards; all that will happen is that people will start to get progressively more annoyed, and you're liable to get some terse responses... Yunshui  11:15, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please pay attention to what Yunshui has said - Forum shopping is not acceptable behavior. The only reputation that is being harmed is yours! Roger (talk) 11:48, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption[edit]

Hi Farhajking. Since you've been inactive on Wikipedia for over three months now, I've closed our formal adoption arrangement - no reflection on you, it's simply that adoption is designed for fairly active users, and so I don't think it's necessarily of much use to you. You're still more than welcome to come to me with any questions you have about Wikipedia, or ask me for help whenever you need it. Happy editing! Yunshui  07:14, 19 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
