Linking to material hosted in violation of copyright[edit]

When adding links to material on external sites, please ensure that the external site is not violating the creator's copyright. Linking to websites that display copyrighted works is acceptable as long as the website's operator has created or licensed the work. Knowingly directing others to a site that violates copyright may be considered contributory infringement. This is particularly relevant when linking to sites such as YouTube, where due care should be taken to avoid linking to material that violates its creator's copyright. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Yworo (talk) 02:30, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I will remove the link to the site. Give this newbie a break.Expectgood (talk) 02:36, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. You should be aware that the warnings are "canned". They can seem a bit overbearing, but they also provide links to the resources where you can educate yourself. Many editors use them for that reason. Try not to take them personally. Feel free to ask me for help or advice on my talk page. Yworo (talk) 02:38, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

How/when does the flag by the other user on the bio get removed? That is not fair for the subject. Please help or give advice who I should contact. Thanks. Expectgood (talk) 02:55, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I just reviewed it and cleaned it up. The article is, in my opinion, neutral and well written. I broke it into paragraphs and rearranged the photos.I corrected a couple of minor guideline issues you wouldn't have known about... we mention nationality in the lead section, but usually not ethnicity. That was covered fine in the bio section. The only possible COI issue I found was the credits on the photos. We don't put credits on photos in articles, only on the photo file pages themselves. I haven't checked if there are credits on the file pages, but if there aren't, feel free to add them there. That is where they belong. Hope this helps. Thanks. This is how feedback and corrections to learn should be done. Expectgood (talk) 03:50, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. Hope you stick around and contribute some more articles. Yworo (talk) 03:59, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for fixing my fat-fingered typos. :-) Yworo (talk) 05:10, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for all your help. I appreciate it. By the way, can the "neutrality review" message on the "Talk" page be deleted since the discussion has been resolved?Expectgood (talk) 05:17, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No, discussions on article talk pages are never deleted. They may eventually be archived, but they are kept for the "record", for whatever reason. Yworo (talk) 07:04, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. You can remove whatever you like from your talk page. Or archive it. Or set up automatic archiving. See WP:BLANKING. Yworo (talk) 07:08, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I'll get it right soon.Expectgood (talk) 07:16, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
