BTM-3 moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, BTM-3, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 11:39, 24 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to Eastern Europe or the Balkans, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Also as you are not extended confirmed, you cannot make edits on articles with content about Russia-Ukraine war per WP:GS/RUSUKR. Thanks. Mellk (talk) 13:06, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Uhm @Mellk:, you do know I literally first created the page on Child abductions in the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, for which I was rewarded a barnstar by @Red-tailed hawk:, among other crucial articles on this war? (It has been significantly expanded since then by a great team of editors). But whatever, if I knew there was a load of bureaucratic technicalities I guess I should have not bothered, and left it to the holy caste of extended confirmed users... All of this seems very odd. Anyways, if this is what Wiki wants, I'll stop contributing on this important topic...--Euor (talk) 14:40, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The general sanctions were placed in October 2022. You only need 500 edits to reach extended-confirmed. Mellk (talk) 14:45, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I seem rather stuck then, as my main drive to restart my editing was this war (I abandoned my previous user on Wiki years ago). We’ll see if I find something to edit in the meanwhile, then… I do have other edits. Thanks. Euor (talk) 14:52, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
From where you currently are, you need to make something like 17 copyedits before you can continue editing on topics involving the Russia-Ukraine war. Unforturnately, them's the rules, even though you've been very productive in this area before. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 15:01, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, thanks guys. I might have seemed a little cranky, but you are right, rules are rules! Thanks for giving me the heads up Mellk, and thanks for the details and pep-talk Red-railed hawk. Euor (talk) 15:05, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I should have elaborated more on the rules in the beginning to be fair, I did not realize you were close anyway, I can see why it would have put you off, so my fault there. Mellk (talk) 15:09, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
