Welcome to Novels WikiProject[edit]

Hi thanks for joining the Novels project, I trust you enjoy reading as much as some of us, HAve a look round particularly at the worklists and the article patterns to get an idea how we work. If you see anything you can contribute to set stuck in. If not but no of other articles that you think needed start writing to the "pattern". Any questions just ask. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page) 20:21, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That is a good place to start, any work on Novel related articles counts. We just like to work together rather thatn just as individuals. If you need help with any articles post them on the various lists or use the relevant talk page notices. Also try putting article on the /WorkList for others to have a go at. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page) 07:12, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Princess Martha pic[edit]

Did you mean Image:Märtha_Louise_2006_in_MN.JPG? I've deleted the old revision.

I enjoyed reading your user page, by the way -- it looks like we have a lot in common. I've got young kids too, and do a lot of teaching at home. I haven't been quite bold enough to take them out of public school altogether, but I may have to consider it in the future, as I'm told the gifted programs here are fairly mediocre, and yesterday my kindergartener was doing times tables and adding fractions in his "funbooks". I'm also a longtime Internet user, starting with Usenet on an amber terminal in about 1991, using a 1200 baud modem, then briefly on AOL, then the WWW! I think I launched my first website in 1996. I love reading, am learning to knit, and devour crossword puzzles. And I just don't get the Sudoku craze either.....  :) — Catherine\talk 18:20, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nora Roberts[edit]

Sorry for the late response, real life suddenly reared its head into my wikipedia time. Anyway it's no problem helping you watch out for it as I am a big Nora fan. I've thought about rewriting it myself but all the edits I've made end up sounding POV-ish or that I worship at the shrine of Nora. Anyway I definitely don't mind if you drop me a note when you have something posted, I'll be more than happy to look it over and give feedback. :) Thanks! --ImmortalGoddezz 15:46, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It was very nice to meet you, too, and hearing about your experiences with Wikipedia. Incidentally, the Stratemeyer Syndicate article does not appear to be locked; click the "edit this page" tab at the very top and revise mercilessly. Let me know if I can help. WikiProject Disambiguation Talk Request[edit]

This is a form message being sent to all WikiProject Disambiguation participants. I may have found your page based on your contributions or your link repair user box on your user page. If you are not a member, please consider including your name on the project page. I recently left a proposed banner idea on the WikiProject Disambiguation talk page and I would appreciate any input you could provide. Before it can be approved or denied, I would prefer a lot of feedback from multiple participants in the project. So if you have the time please join in the discussion to help improve the WikiProject. Keep up the good work in link repair and thanks for your time. Nehrams2020 22:56, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Redirects[edit]

You could create redirects. For example, you would start a new page for Mastersingers of Nurnberg and the text of that would be simply #REDIRECT [[Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg]] (the # before REDIRECT is necessary). We should create redirects for all of the names a reader might reasonably use, so I would also do one for Master Singers of Nurnberg and anything else that might help a reader. "Redirects are cheap" is a Wikipedia rule of thumb.

Another possibility is to move the article if it is not at the most commonly used or expected name for an English-speaking reader. Let me know if you need help with that. Jonathunder 23:35, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Camelot[edit]

Happy to help. I'm glad you left a message on the musicals discussion page, where I could find it. Have fun doing the show. By the time you're in rehearsals, you'll know lots more about the show than me (I've never even seen it--just the movie), so come back and improve the article! Erythema Multiforme Pic[edit]

I just added a picture of my daughter with this syndrome, fortunately we caught it right as she entered the 'major' form of it. I found it an interesting coincidence that your daughter had this the same month as mine and we are both military wives. Leaves me wondering if the military over prescribes antibiotics. Anyway, I'm new to wikipedia and just wanted to add the picture because I thought it might help other parents. I had definitely never heard of this illness and I suspect that it's quite rare. I hope that your little one is all better. Kaleysmom71 19:48, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My daughter is doing much better thanks, she is having mood swings, I think due to the steroids, but so far so good. Don't quote me on this, but I think that the doctor should have advised you to avoid penicillin in the future for your daughter. That's what they told us anyway, they advised that she might where a bracelet indicating the allergy also, because the Erythema Multiforme can abruptly progress to the major form, Steven Johnson's Syndrome. I'm already getting a lot out of wikipedia, my mind needed the exercise. Kaleysmom71 23:26, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Picture description[edit]

Hi your picture Image:Scarlet_fever_1.JPG is described as "The "slapped cheeks" and "white mustache" (circumoral pallor) of scarlet fever. This photograph was taken of my two-and-a-half year old daughter, Alba, the day she was diagnosed with scarlet fever"

Scarlet fever (reaction from bacterial sore throat) tends to have a body rash that "is fine, red, and rough-textured" although I would agree may have flushed face. However "slapped cheeks" is an appearance suggestive of blotchy rash (marks of individual fingers) as seen in a quite different viral disorder of fifth disease (aka "slapped cheek syndrome"). Could you clarify your wording please :-) David Ruben Talk 17:53, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think I'll leave my wording, but thanks for the discussion! At The Skin Disease Archive, when talking about Fifth Disease, they reference both rashes as being quite similar: "It is called slapped cheek syndrome because the children suffering from this disease show rosy slapped-like cheeks....It is the fifth of five common child diseases that cause similar skin rashes (measles, rubella, scarlet fever, Filatov-Dukes disease and slapped cheek syndrome)." I believe this supports the wording that both diseases have a slapped-cheek look as a possible symptom. In my daughters case, it was *the* symptom (along with the white mustache) that allowed a positive diagnosis. Estreya (talk) 21:32, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Magic Island[edit]

The cast members of Magic Island are a genuine research problem. I'm dubious that such information is available. Nevertheless, I turned your red links into blue links. Unless you can supply some facts about Sally Creighton and the others, they will eventually be deleted. Pepso2 (talk) 22:25, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Estreya, success! I found a 68-year-old clipping about Magic Island. Take a look! Pepso2 (talk) 13:54, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move for Rosa Barcelo[edit]

Hello Estreya. I de-listed your request at WP:RM because no move is required for what you want to accomplish. You just have to go to Rosa Barcelona and edit it so it no longer redirects to the Cinnamon Bear article. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Regards, Parsecboy (talk) 14:59, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also, for your other two requests, the one for Will H. Reynolds would be done exactly the same as above, and for Tommy Carr, you just have to create a new page, something like Tommy Carr (radio personality) or something similar. You don't necessarily need a disambiguation page for two people, so you could just modify the hatnote on top of the Tommy Carr page to read "For the radio personality, see Tommy Carr (radio personality)". I hope that helps. Regards, Parsecboy (talk) 15:35, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Estreya, do you have information about these radio actors? I suggest that you not add links if you cannot add the information. I did several hours of research and couldn't find anything. What have you found? If you have nothing to add, such pages will eventually be deleted as not notable and unsourced. Pepso2 (talk) 15:56, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've added Rosa Barcelo to The Cinnamon Bear cast. Pepso2 (talk) 16:05, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I created a Rosa Barcelo page. What other facts about her can we add? What sources do you have? I've listed one. Pepso2 (talk) 16:27, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Pepso2! I'm working on finding anything I can about a lot of the stars associated with Cinnamon Bear, Magic Island, Jerry of the Circus and Jerry at Fair Oaks. There seems to be so little out there that it is rough going. I came to Wikipedia to find out and when it wasn't here, I decide to start collecting anything I could here! I am hopeful that someone will be able to add to what we've started. I sure appreciate your help!Estreya (talk) 04:11, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cornflower Phyllody[edit]

I love your picture of phyllody on cornflower, which I put on the phytoplasma article as well. How did you know which phytoplasma disease it had? Million_Moments (talk) 14:33, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, alot of phytoplasmas cause the same symptoms so really there is no harm if it's not aster yellows! I just wondered if you'd sent it off to a lab somewhere to get tested (a girl in my lab does that as her PhD!). Thanks for your reply! Million_Moments (talk) 16:19, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Years have passed and I would like to ask: could I please use this same image in my thesis? I would credit you, if you tell me how you would like to be credited! Million_Moments (talk) 14:16, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Reviewer[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged revisions, underwent a two-month trial which ended on 15 August 2010. Its continued use is still being discussed by the community, you are free to participate in such discussions. Many articles still have pending changes protection applied, however, and the ability to review pending changes continues to be of use.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under level 1 pending changes and edits made by non-reviewers to level 2 pending changes protected articles (usually high traffic articles). Pending changes was applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't grant you status nor change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

Twig the Fairy images[edit]

Thanks for uploading the better image of File:Twig-Book-first-edition-2010.jpg; that's perfect! I noticed that you also uploaded File:Twig-Coin-2010.jpg to Commons and marked it as your own work. This is only appropriate if you actually designed the coin. Otherwise, whoever designed the coin would own the copyright on it, and as with the book cover, it could only be stored on Wikipedia but not on Commons. If this doesn't make sense, if you have questions, or if you need any help with this, just let me know! cmadler (talk) 23:38, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Crud! I waffled back and forth on whether photographing the coin at low-res would work. I found another photo that was a more artistic photo of coins that was called "my own work" so I went that way. Can you help me delete the file at Commons and I will then upload here using the fair-use/low-res argument again? I sure do appreiate your taking me under your wing like this! 74.5.65.211 (talk) 00:24, 3 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Here's the deletion request -- opening a deletion request on Commons is now as simple as signing in, clicking the "Nominate for deletion" link, and giving the reason. I'm happy to help if you have any other questions! cmadler (talk) 13:13, 3 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks again! I've got the new photo uploaded here on Wikipedia and in place in the article. I confirmed with Twig's marketing staff that the coin can be considered an item from the promotional kit that accompanied the release of her book so I know I've got the correct license on the image this time! I appreciate your help! Estreya (talk) 17:50, 3 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link fixing one-day contest[edit]

I have decided to put on a mini-contest within the November 2013 monthly disambiguation contest, on Saturday, November 23 (UTC). I will personally give a $20 Amazon.com gift card to the disambiguator who fixes the most links on that server-day (see the project page for details on scoring points). Since we are not geared up to do an automated count for that day, at 00:00, 23 November 2013 (UTC) (which is 7:00 PM on November 22, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the project page leaderboard. I will presume that anyone who is not already listed on the leaderboard has precisely nine edits. At 01:00, 24 November 2013 (UTC) (8:00 PM on November 23, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the leaderboard at that time (the extra hour is to give the board time to update), and I will determine from that who our winner is. I will credit links fixed by turning a WP:DABCONCEPT page into an article, but you'll have to let me know me that you did so. Here's to a fun contest. Note that according to the Daily Disambig, we currently have under 256,000 disambiguation links to be fixed. If everyone in the disambiguation link fixers category were to fix 500 links, we would have them all done - so aim high! Cheers! bd2412 T 02:22, 18 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
