New Rochelle area articles etc.[edit]

Hi Erin cali70. As you are probably aware, New Rochelle area articles have been contentious previously and are subject to a lot of scrutiny and enforcement actions against users correctly or incorrectly labelled as "sockpuppets". I happen to think that some treatment of New Rochelle editors in the past has been unfair, and there have been some unfair blocks put on users, which has led to some user(s) starting up new accounts. I hope you don't mind, I am going to take an interest in your edits now, too, and will seek to protect your work from unfair deletions. However sometimes I may agree with deletion and/or call for further sourcing, etc., as there is room for reasonable people to have disagreements about content. I advise you to please refrain from opening any other accounts and/or using any other accounts. Please feel free to contact me however you like, for assistance. I have email enabled at my Talk page. I'll give comments on your edits sometimes at the Talk page of the given article, and sometimes here. Hopefully you will be able to receive my interest as cooperative. doncram (talk) 21:01, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

FYI, your account was checked by an administrator in a formal process and found not to be linked to the set of blocked accounts associated with a banned other user. So, I think you are free to edit, to develop your user page, and so on, without immediate fear of being blocked. Also, by the way, if you create an article about an NRHP site, please feel free to announce the article at wp:NRHP: just scroll down on that page and find the New Articles box, and edit in a link to your new article. You could do that now for the article Leland Castle which you created and which i added to just now. That will tend to attract helpful interest by experienced editors of wp:NRHP. You are also welcome to join that WikiProject, and, whether you join or not, to post questions at its Talk page, wt:NRHP. doncram (talk) 21:31, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

NRHP infoboxes[edit]

Hi Erin -- I've expanded the NRHP infoboxes in a couple of your new articles. You had started with NRHP infoboxes that appear to be cut-and-pasted in from articles about other NRHP sites, and then edited. Doing it that way is fine, but it is easier and better in some respects to start off with output available from what is called Elkman's NRHP infobox generator, developed and supported by User:Elkman. The generator is available at http://www2.elkman.net/nrhp/infobox.php. It provides cut-and-paste ready output with all available info from the National Register Information System already filled out for your particular NRHP listing. It includes a footnote with date 4/15/2008, which is the date that underlying data was obtained in a huge download from NRIS, and which should be left in showing that date unless you actually do get other data from NRIS directly on a different date. The infobox it provides serves as a good start, in my view, but you should feel free to revise or to add other info to the infobox (usually then you would want to include a reference footnote for each field that you change/add). Hope you may find this helpful. doncram (talk) 14:16, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

block by Nishkid[edit]

I noticed a block on this account and commented at User talk:Nishkid64#Erin cali account. Until this is cleared up, I believe Erin cali should respond only here (I am not sure) and certainly not by opening any new accounts. (And if you cannot post here, please feel free to let me know by email; there is an Email to me box at my User page.) doncram (talk) 20:47, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Connection to Jvolkblum case or not, I would still support Erin cali70 requesting an unban and unblock. The account was used responsibly enough, I believe. And I believe it would be better for the person behind this, and for wikipedia, to allow this person to continue to edit NR area and other articles, to build a reputation, and to have a stake. Hopefully the person got some taste of the advantages to having a regular account from this experience, which include having a watchlist, getting support from other editors in having articles developed rather than deleted, and being able to participate in meaningful discussions. I don't think my supervision of the account can be regarded as too onerous for the person. Without an account, the alternative is to go back to hit-and-run tactics as an IP editor and/or under new accounts, with all edits subject to deletion and so on. Do you want to attract and deal with enforcer types like W and O, exclusively, or would you like to work on NR area and other articles? I strongly advise the person to request an unban here and to participate in a discussion towards being able to edit in a supervised way. But, whatever. doncram (talk) 19:03, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
