Your account[edit]

I'll be honest with you - I find it extremely suspicious that one of the first things you do with your account is go to a template talk page and start re-hashing the same argument that many blocked editors have used in the past. I've been an admin for coming up on a decade, and I know how to recognize actual new editors behavior. That's not a natural beginning. Nor is doing advanced reference cleanup within your opening 5 edits. Most newbies don't even know what a ref is, let alone how to do fixes like that. You've made it pretty apparent that this isn't your first account. Sergecross73 msg me 13:48, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Probably because I'm not a new editor. I've been editing Wikipedia for a while before making an account, and have experience with fan wikis as well.
What argument did I rehash? Nobody had previously brought up that article I linked to, as you admitted. I literally just parroted what the article stated -- that they specifically designed Sonic 3D Blast to be different from Sega's core games, wanting to set it apart because it was outsourced to a new dev team. I don't see how anyone could have made the argument that the devs or staff claimed those things without a source. Endianer (talk) 15:56, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You provided a new source, but everything else about the argument mirrors argument of a bunch of "editors" blocked for abusing multiple accounts. Sergecross73 msg me 18:42, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You still haven't told me what argument I'm rehashing, and I'm still as lost as before. I can only assume there is miscommunication here.
And yeah, after going through the archives of that talk page, I can confirm that I didn't use any of the previous arguments. I'm not saying that it's a spin-off because it's different, because it's isometric, because it was made by TT, or anything like that. My argument hinges entirely on the fact that the official source I linked outright states that they decided to make it different and set it apart from Sega's core games because it wasn't made by Sega. You tried to dismiss that as "they probably just didn't want to make it redundant to prior entries", but that's not what the article claims. It states that they did it because it was outsourced to TT, not because they were trying to avoid stagnation.
You really don't see how "Sega choose to set it apart from their core games because it was outsourced" implies they didn't view it as part of their core series? Endianer (talk) 06:35, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The comment you're latching onto is too vague. Like I keep saying, "set it apart" can mean any number of things. 3D graphics set Super Mario 64 apart from all other Super Mario games at that point. That didn't make it a spin-off. Sergecross73 msg me 13:48, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
