Welcome[edit]

Hi, Ejwii. This is NOT some automated message...it's from a real person. You can talk to me right now. Welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed you've just joined, and wanted to give you a few tips to get you started. If you have any questions, please talk to us. The tips below should help you to get started. Best of luck!  Chzz  ►  00:48, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

ようこそ
  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup#2009.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

File copyright problem with File:Tracy Stafford.gif[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Tracy Stafford.gif. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. FASTILY (TALK) 01:13, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures need an appropriate free license to remain on Wikipedia. Please look at Wikipedia:Uploading images. Can you give a proper link to the source so the copyright status can be checked? Thank you. Hekerui (talk) 23:03, 22 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Tracy Stafford[edit]

Re Tracy Stafford's page, I was provided with the two legislative district maps by the Florida Office of Economic & Demographic Research and given full permission to use them on Wikipedia. I hope that I have identified that copyright permission correctly on the maps; if not, if you wouldn't mind, please correct the style for me. However, there is no need for deletion. Thanks! Ejwii (talk) 17:22, 27 June 2009 (UTC)Ejwii[reply]

We disallow the inclusion of media on a "by permission" basis; our articles are copied and republished by many sources, so "full permission to use [media] on Wikipedia" is insufficient. Unless a valid fair-use rationale exists (possible only when there is no free alternative and no reasonable expectation that one could be created), an image must be in the public domain or available under a free license.
However, because these images are works of the Florida government, they are in the public domain (so anyone can use them without permission). Therefore, they qualify as free media and are suitable for use within Wikipedia.
In the future, please tag such images with {{PD-FLGov}} to identify their nature. (I've done so with these images.) Thank you! —David Levy 19:01, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (File:House District 92 92.jpg)[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:House District 92 92.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. FileBot (talk) 21:58, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

List of Phi Kappa Psi chapters[edit]

Hello, I'm not sure if you are also a Phi Psi, but I saw that you were editing List of Phi Kappa Psi chapters after I uploaded a major revision to the page. I'm trying to edit this list so that it can get featured list status. This won't be easy, but it is certainly not impossible. In order to get there, the page needs to be fully compliant with Wikipedia's standards. This means that all information has to be verifiable. To achieve verifiability, information like the number of initiates and charter dates were mostly removed. Discussion about editing this page is at Talk:List of Phi Kappa Psi chapters, and your participation is welcome. NYCRuss 22:03, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for July 20[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of Phi Kappa Psi Grand Arch Councils, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Hilton (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

File permission problem with File:Glenn Kirschner photo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Glenn Kirschner photo.jpg, which you've attributed to Glenn Kirschner. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to [email protected], stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to [email protected].

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 21:28, 8 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Glenn Kirschner[edit]

Hello, Ejwii,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Glenn Kirschner should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Glenn Kirschner .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,
