Teahouse Message[edit]

Like... you think I am Ali Hewson? Miss Bono [zootalk] 17:26, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't know who that was or her name but yes that's what I thought...:-( I'm kind of dense sometimes.

Don't worry. I wish I was her lol. Although I can't picture how would be if she had an account on Wikipedia. Another question... if you didn't know who she is, how's that you asked? Curiousity. :) Miss Bono [zootalk] 19:48, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

By the way. I read your paragraph on your userpage. And I might not be an expert but I can help you in whatever you need (if I know the answer) :) Miss Bono [zootalk] 19:51, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again. I was just surprised that miss bono would have an account on wiki and it would be in her own name..hehe..Just made me think so I had to say something..And I have diarrhea mouth also. Thanks for the offer to help it means alot...I think we are interested in very diff topics but there are some things that I defin need help with. I forgot how to use the system since the last time I was on 1.5 years ago and things seemed to have changed quite a bit since then. Until later Miss Bono..And I'd like to be Jessica Alba's husband, but it's not going to happen :-)Dounai99 (talk) 21:12, 23 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Miss Bono..hehe (you've got quite the crush by looking at your webpage. Why do women do that but men usually don't; interesting sociological question)..I was trying to get people to translate an article that is very important. From english to chinese and I left messages for 8 top people about 3 days ago but one declined and I've had no other responses. The article is called "barefoot lawyer" and it refers to grassroots and self trained lawyers who help defend the rights of mainlander chinese people who are having their rights trampled. It needs to be in chinese because most of them don't speak or read good english and it's an important article for them to see. Is there any other methods to draw up support to get people to help translating it? I think many people are hesitant because there could be backlash to people who still have families in the mainland. Is there anyway you could help? This issue is very important to me. I would owe you a big favor..You name it, I'll stalk bono for you and have him say hi to you on my iphone video..hehe..But really I would help on whatever you needed help with. Please let me know. Thanks Miss Bono.

I'd like to know what did you mean to say with you've got quite the crush by looking at your webpage
Hehhehe... I wish you could record a greeting from Bono. I am going to find someone who can help you, since I know nothing about Chinesse. I am friend with a Wikipedian who lives in China, maybe she can help. I'll see what I do.

PS: Sorry for being late but I am always off suring Weekends. Miss Bono [zootalk] 13:02, 26 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again, I found this: Category:User_zh-3. That would give you a full list of users who have a level 3 in Chinese language. Maybe you can ping some of them, I will try as well. Miss Bono [zootalk] 13:22, 26 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Here's another one Category:User_zh-N. These are users with a native knowledge of Chinese. Miss Bono [zootalk] 14:25, 26 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi miss bono don't worry bout my comment just being silly. Seems like ur a big fan of him. He's good. I already left 8 diff requests for native level people to translate the article to Chinese but no one has responded except one decline. I think they are scared or maybe just didn't like the way I requested it. Thanks for the help I really appreciate it.

Welcome (back) to Wikipedia[edit]

Hi, saw your post in the Teahouse. I'm pretty new to Wikipedia myself but will offer any help I can give. I agree that the site is becoming more of a community, and I would like it to keep heading in that direction (of course while maintaining the educational/informative purpose). Any useful knowledge you can share will be helpful...and look out for vandals, since as hard as we try we can't always find their posts quickly, and they stay there for a long time (especially when they're in the reference spaces). You can ask any questions you may have on my talk page. Ensignricky (talk) 23:57, 25 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello ensignricky...Thanks for the show of support..Last time was just horrible....I feel it's getting better though, really..I have a really good memory and am over sensitive so I pay attention to treatment...It's much better now than 1.5 years ago, trust me.Dounai99 (talk) 00:58, 26 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dounai. Welcome back! I think you'll find a very welcoming community centered around the Teahouse. We need editors like you so stick around :)

For The Wikipedia Library, for now you can just add details to the Role=, Story=, and Skills= section of your profile to talk about how you want to help most, what your background is, and what your strenghts are. Especially if you have a background in China, I could use guidance in how to gather resources related to the region, possible partnerships with Chinese universities or libraries, and general outreach to Chinese editors or Chinese Wikipedians. Send me a message any time on my talk page or email me at wikiocaasi@yahoo.com. Best, Ocaasi t | c 16:20, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the quick response. I have to type on a tablet now due to virus. I hope to contact my old professors and convince them that writing on wiki is a valuable thing. I had this idea 1.5 years ago but it was shot down.

For your work on China - Africa relations: [1]

I was worried that these smaller African countries, not particularly adept at forming a regional bloc to advance their interests multilaterally, would simply be bullied and get suckered into disadvantageous deals. But it's good to see that they still have some leverage with China, and that some countries at least are able to consider their long-term interests in the relationship. Hope all's well.
