Hi, in my eyes, the route announcement is quite relevant to the page. The route announcement equally relevant to the page than say, the electrification voltage. I just believe that the route announcement is useful to some parties and that if you don't mind, keeping this small detail up on the page that I worked pretty hard to collect. Thank you for your understanding. Doctorcheese2 (talk) 12:15, 5 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No, they are not comparable. The electrification voltage is encyclopediac information about the line, and is likely to be discussed in the prose as a technical detail. Audio recordings of announcements are tangential to the actual operations of the line, and are unlikely to be discussed in the prose. (That means they're unlikely to be useful to expand readers' understanding of the prose - see MOS:PERTINENCE and WP:IMGCONTENT.)
Furthermore, you have been making additional errors when adding these audio files:
  • Listing them as your own work, which is clearly not true. The announcement audio was created by the SFMTA; you merely recorded them. This distinction is very important: most audio that you can record is copyrighted and not permissible to upload to Commons.
  • Failing to properly categorize the audio files on Commons
  • Using improperly capitalized captions - see MOS:SENTENCECAPS. The words "Inbound Route Announcement" are not part of a proper noun and do not need to be capitalized.
  • Breaking the article formatting - you have placed the files in a way that causes other images to be pushed down the page, away from where they belong.
All of these have required me to clean up after you. It is your responsibility to learn how to edit in a way that does not require others to fix your errors. I understand you are new to Wikipedia, but please understand that these policies are in place to support the mission of making Wikipedia a high-quality encyclopedia. The best way to learn is to look at what experienced editors do. If you want to see how to properly categorize an image, for example, then you can look at how I categorize the images I've uploaded.
