References[edit]

Moving this to new username. Please note that you can't use Wikipedia articles as references, citations and sources for other articles. To get you started, please read reliable sources and hopefully this template will help you learn how to formulate proper references. Wildhartlivie (talk) 11:20, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Referencing may look daunting, but it's easy enough to do. Here's a guide to getting started. References are important to validate your writing and inform the reader. Any editor can remove unreferenced material, and unsubstantiated articles may end up getting deleted, so when you add something to an article, it's advisable to also include a reference to say from where it came. If you need any assistance, let me know.

{{helpme}},please help with editing this article. Thank you.

Helpme is not intended for asking someone to read your article. Having said that, You have no references listed, so there is nothing to show why the foundation is notable. See WP:N--Terrillja talk 20:11, 10 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the input and information about "helpme." I will take note and reformat the article. Again, thank you. Dembravesfans 06:38, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

The Mary Pearl Willis Foundation was established in 2007 by Lela Howard. It provides assistance to low income families with burial needs, strategies that enforce cemetery codes and ethics, and supports gender equality through its link with non-profits, family and women organizations.

Howard’s aunt Mary Pearl Willis died in the Jonestown, Guyana murder/suicide on November 18, 1978. She successfully championed Senate and Congress to recognize the victims as American citizens, restoring their humanity and individuality to erase the stigma and shame associated with this crime, resulting in a Congressional reading into record a memorial to and in memory of the victims. City and State Legislature was obtained, declaring November 18th a "Day of Remembrance" for the victims, throughout the United States. Memorials listing the names of all identified 918 victims, which include Congressman Leo Ryan, Robert Brown (NBC camera man), Don Harris (NBC reporter) and Greg Robinson (San Francisco Examiner photographer).

In conjunction with social awareness, the foundation works with LIMRA to increase life insurance and pre-need arrangements in urban areas.
