Fair use rationale for Image:Alvlogo.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Alvlogo.gif. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 00:50, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Just crazy! uk.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Just crazy! uk.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:23, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Mars hoax[edit]

I have nominated Mars hoax, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mars hoax. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Madcoverboy (talk) 16:59, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Davido321: I saw you had commented and argued to keep the article Mars hoax in the Articles for Deletion discussion (AfD) that was created for it. There's just one catch: the AfD discussion was already closed when you made the comments. It had been closed several hours earlier. I have removed your keep comment from Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mars hoax as a result of this. As it turns out, this article was a case where deletion was so clearly unwarranted the discussion was closed early by an administrator. Such a closure is called a speedy keep. Even though the result was a speedy keep, though, it's not considered appropriate to comment in a closed AfD. It's not a big deal, I assume you overlooked the fact it was a closed discussion or were unaware of that part of our policy. I just wanted to ask that when you see the text "The following discussion is an archived debate of the proposed deletion of the article below. Please do not modify it." at the top of the page, and or see the background is a colored box (a convention for an archived discussion around here), to please be very careful about modifying the archived discussions. Thanks. ⇔ ÆS dt @ 17:45, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Award Barnstar[edit]

Hey David,

Just noticed your completing the List of All Saints episodes, it looks great. I know how repetitive and tedious this job can be (hence why it's wasn't done sooner) and thus feel compelled to award you this barnstar:

The Working Man's Barnstar
For his tireless work on the tedious expansion and completion of the List of All Saints episodes, well done Daniel99091 | talk 01:53, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well done, keep up the hard work and hope to see you around Wikipedia sometime!

Daniel99091 | talk 01:53, 13 July 2008 (UTC).[reply]

Well, you sure deserved that... making entire episode pages is extremely boring and tedious work. About splitting the articles, I had the same problem on the Blue Heelers pages and had to split them up into individual season articles (e.g. Blue Heelers (season 13). As well as the episode list, here we had plot info, reception, production, DVD etc. If you need help, I'd be more than happy. And about the expansion of episodes and character stubs, you're right, it does need to be done. I've tried to expand List of All Saints characters but, because I haven't seen the whole series, it is a little hard. However, I'll try to source some character summaries off the net and put them in my own words for Wiki.

All Saints season pages[edit]

Hi David,

I've had a look at the season articles and they look really good for brand new articles! You're correct in saying that they don't have much as yet but, if we can complete the episode tables, add a DVD release table (for seasons released on DVD) and add a cast list (this is really easy and will make the page look like it has a lot more substance), then the pages should look pretty good.

And once we finish the season pages, we can move all the cast images there to free up the main article.

I agree that the All Saints navbox does require reformatting but, how can we do it? I think we could safely delete all the characters as they are all redirects (or at least until pages are created), but I don't know what else to do. As it is, it looks a little messy, doesn't it?

Daniel99091 | talk 06:46, 14 July 2008 (UTC).[reply]

Hey,
Well, I've had a look at the new templates in your sandbox, and they're looking good. I'd say the second one (with the website replaced by the seasons) definately looks better. I think the "subgroups" of the current/past character makes the single Seasons group look messy. I had a quick glance at the essay, WP:NAVBOX, and agree that the cast should be omitted (will anybody really want to go to the page of a cast member?). And, about the characters, I don't really think they should be in the navbox if they serve no real purpose. But, if you think they should be in, I'm perfectly happy to agree. After all, you're right in saying they're important to the navbox.

Hey David,
Great edit to the infobox, it looks heaps better now!
And about the episode lists in the season articles - we need to wikilink the full dates (in the "Day Month Year" (1 January 2000) format).
I also saw the edits you made to the episode list to include the ratings, great idea! I just don't think we will be able to source ratings for many of the earlier seasons, unless you have another source? I thought perhaps we could create another All Saints episode list template (one with a column for ratings for seasons where the ratings are available and another without a column for ratings for seasons where ratings are not available).
I was also just thinking about what you thought of the idea of putting a tab in the season infobox for average weekly audience.
Happy editing!
Daniel99091 | talk 09:19, 16 July 2008 (UTC).[reply]
Hey David,
I saw your new character page article in your sandbox, it's looking good. I liked your list of links down the bottom. My favourite would have to be the list of articles at the All Saints page of The Australian Television Information Archive. You've probably seen it but it offers an extensive list of articles as old as 1998. Really good for real information.
Speaking of real information, we need plenty of this if we are going to be creating individual character articles. They can't just be fictional or in-universe facts, after all, this was why the original pages were redirected.
And about the template, I see that only selected things are transcluded into the main season article (Using the Template:Ifeq), but in some pages, such as All Saints (season 4) for example, there is a column for ratings and I doubt we will be able to source ratings for every episode. Therefore, maybe on these pages, we should use a separate template without ratings. I'm definitely no syntax wizard either and I don't know how this should be handled.
About generating interest, I don't think an entire All Saints WikiProject would have many members. Maybe a note on the Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Television page would help???
Thanks, Daniel99091 | talk 06:55, 17 July 2008 (UTC).[reply]

Speedy deletion of Sonim Technologies[edit]

A tag has been placed on Sonim Technologies, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. gnfnrf (talk) 11:34, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Jamesdibble.jpg listed for deletion[edit]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Jamesdibble.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Wipeout (Australian game show), by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Wipeout (Australian game show) is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Wipeout (Australian game show), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Image copyright problem with Image:Perfectgame2000.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Perfectgame2000.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

QF72[edit]

Hi David - I've moved your recently created article to Qantas flight 72 as I believe you created it with the wrong flight number. I've left the article for deletion tag on it (why do they always get put on to every recently created article ?) but obviously the article will be retained. All the best... Proposed deletion of Grim Reaper (advertisement)[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Grim Reaper (advertisement), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Schuym1 (talk) 04:23, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I did a search and it is notable. I wil remove the prod. Please add reliable sources from this search: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=grim+reaper+%28advertisement%29 so that this doesn't happen again. Schuym1 (talk) 04:24, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
