Before you create an article, make sure that you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.
Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one, please tell your instructor about creating one. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know that the article is a subject of an educational assignment as well as aid your communication with them.

While editing:
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Be bold, but do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- No edit warring or abuse of multiple accounts.
- Provide reliable sources to the content you add. If you are adding biomedical information, please follow this guideline.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.

Major Comments:
History section is good! I wonder if there's any more notable facts about the history—like, since it went from originally 260 anglers to now ~4000, was that a steady increase in popularity over the years, or was there a particular moment in time when the fishing rodeo became super popular? If there's anything like that to be found.
I'm curious to hear more about some of the specific results, i.e. last year, how many participants were there, what were the results of the winners in each category, etc. Just to get a better sense of the magnitude of this event. I would say you could add a table showing the history, but that would need so many rows. So maybe just referencing the most recent year's results.
The plan to add conservation and fisheries/sociology sections sounds good! Just be sure you have multiple sources for those so nothing seems biased (i.e. in favor or against the fishing rodeo). I think it would also be good in those sections to touch a bit on the public's reception of this event.
Maybe just a quick paragraph or section somewhere summarizing the rules? Who can participate, is it individual-based, what tools are prohibited, how are the winners determined (i.e. by size or count?), etc.
Minor Comments:
"Mobile businessmen"—What does mobile mean here?
Maybe similarly, who is Mobile Jaycees? Is that an organization just for this, or some sort of sponsor?
"Entertainment includes live shows and concerts and games and educational opportunities for kids."—Make sure you add some commas here.
"The nation's oldest fishing tournament"—Instead of "the nation," I might write US instead, like "the oldest fishing tournament in the US." Since many readers are outside the US. FliFish (talk) 18:52, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
