Pioneers Park, Lincoln[edit]
The edit summary to your most recent edit to Parks in Lincoln, Nebraska gives the impression that you're considering developing articles on some of these parks, including Pioneers Park.
Not sure if you know, but PP is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. You can find a link to the NRHS nominating form at the Nebraska State Historical Society's National Register sites in Lancaster County page. You might also want to use some of the materials available at WP:WikiProject National Register of Historic Places (for example, they've got a fairly good infobox template).
I've taken several pictures at PP, which are available at Wikimedia Commons: see Commons:Category:Pioneers Park (Lincoln, Nebraska). I do lots of photography for WP in Nebraska; if you've got some specific photos you'd like for an article, feel free to drop a note at my talk page, and I'll try to oblige when I'm next in the Lincoln area. - Thanks for letting me know -- I actually had no idea on its Historic listing. I'm keeping Pioneers Park on the back burner for now, but it does need (and will get, one way or another) an article soon. There is already an article for the Nature Center, and I'm not sure whether that needs a merge discussion... that way, could have info about the park, Pinewood Bowl, and the Nature Center in a single article which would probably be a bit longer. You have some very representative pictures -- I'll probably add a few with the article launch, and might put in a couple of my own as well. Meanwhile, if you'd rather start the PP article, go ahead... otherwise I will eventually get to it. I'm going to concentrate on some of the other parks first because PP has a few more moving parts to deal with. --CrunchySkies (talk) 17:20, 4 August 2012 (UTC)
- I think merging the Nature Center article with a new PP article would be the right approach; or rename the Nature Center article and expand it to cover the whole park. The latter would preserve the article history; I don't know enough about the merging process to know whether the history could be kept. No plans to write the PP article myself; just wanted to bring the NRHP information and photos to your attention, in case you were considering it. Saw you are trying to organize an event in Lincoln in late Sept. I can't make any promises until I know a firm date, but I'm interested.

Books & Bytes New Years Double Issue[edit]
Happy New Year, and welcome to a special double issue of Books & Bytes. We've included a retrospective on the changes and progress TWL has seen over the last year, the results of the survey TWL participants completed in December, some of our plans for the future, a second interview with a Wiki Love Libraries coordinator, and more. Here's to 2014 being a year of expansion and innovation for TWL!
The Wikipedia Library completed the first 6 months of its Individual Engagement grant last week. Here's where we are and what we've done:
- Increased access to sources: 1500 editors signed up for 3700 free accounts, individually worth over $500,000, with usage increases of 400-600%
- Deep networking: Built relationships with Credo, HighBeam, Questia, JSTOR, Cochrane, LexisNexis, EBSCO, New York Times, and OCLC
- New pilot projects: Started the Wikipedia Visiting Scholar project to empower university-affiliated Wikipedia researchers
- Developed community: Created portal connecting 250 newsletter recipients, 30 library members, 3 volunteer coordinators, and 2 part-time contractors
- Tech scoped: Spec'd out a reference tool for linking to full-text sources and established a basis for OAuth integration
- Broad outreach: Wrote a feature article for Library Journal's The Digital Shift; presenting at the American Library Association annual meeting
