Recent edit reversion[edit]

In this edit here, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy.

I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.

I do occasionally make mistakes. We get hundreds of reports of potential copyright violations every week, and sometimes there are false positives, for a variety of reasons. (Perhaps the material was moved from another Wikipedia article, or the material was properly licensed but the license information was not obvious, or the material is in the public domain but I didn't realize it was public domain, and there can be other situations generating a report to our Copy Patrol tool that turn out not to be actual copyright violations.) Moving articles without discussion[edit]

Do not change the names of articles without prior discussion, as you did at Mamluk Sultanate and Ottoman Egypt. If you believe there is a better name for those articles, open a discussion on the talk page and base your proposal on reliable sources, in accordance with Wikipedia's core content policies and its naming criteria, which you should review for yourself. Crimsonalfred2022, this is the second time you've moved Ottoman Egypt against consensus, despite my earlier warning above. On top of that, you've moved it to a clearly useless title, "State of Egypt". Moving an article multiple times after you know there's a disagreement is edit-warring and it's disruptive. Please follow the instructions I've given you above in the future; if you continue this behaviour again, the next course of action may be to report you to administrators. Hi Crimsonalfred2022! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Hello Crimsonalfred2022. Sorry to have to do this; I can see you've put a lot of work into his page. But Wikipedia cannot accept copyright content copied from elsewhere online. Everything you add to Wikipedia (including plot descriptions) needs to be written in your own words. So I have removed almost all of your additions to the page, going back to December 20. I also noticed that a lot of files you've uploaded to the Commons are incorrectly tagged as public domain, so I've asked the admins on that site to check your work and make sure we only keep the images that are actually in the public domain or compatibly licensed.
