Why does Wikipedia shy away from controversial issues?[edit]

Wide spread doping by the Stasi is well established fact but Wikipedia won't publish this...why the censorship?

Then it should not be very hard for you to find a source and properly cite this controversial issue. —Ute in DC (talk) 10:34, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons: "All quotations and any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source using an inline citation. Contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced—whether the material is negative, positive, neutral, or just questionable—should be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion." Information icon Hello, I'm Shellwood. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —the one you made with this edit to Rat— because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Pig. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism can result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Hayman30 (talk) 07:22, 20 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Book citations[edit]

I noticed that you referred to The Justice Game in the Helen Smith (nurse) article, but did provide a proper citation. Please consider using the {{cite book}} template & footnotes.

Using the {{cite book}} template like so:

  • {{Cite book|title=The Justice Game|last=Robertson|first=Geoffrey|publisher=Chatto & Windus|year=1988|isbn=9781446444504|location=London|pages=|language=English|oclc=742560407}}

produces:

  • Robertson, Geoffrey (1988). The Justice Game. London: Chatto & Windus. ISBN 9781446444504. OCLC 742560407.

The citation still needs (a) page number(s), so if you have the text at hand, would you please look it up & add it like so |page=## or |pages=##-##.

Please see Help:Referencing for beginners for more info.
