Hello Guy Macon, Thank you for your message. I am indeed from Jacques Benveniste's family but the requests I made on the "Benveniste affair" article have nothing to do with conflict of interest. It is factual element that are missing on the page (you can see the INSERM institutionnal website : https://histoire.inserm.fr/les-femmes-et-les-hommes/jacques-benveniste/).
Concerning the title, it should really be changed because the actuel "Benveniste affair" article is an English version of the French "Jacques Benveniste" article. Therefore, when the name of Jacques Benveniste is cited somewhere in wikipedia, for example in the "Platelet-activating factor" page, the preview of the link displays "Benveniste affair" in a frame, and not "Jacques Benveniste" with a few biographic element, even if the page "Platelet-activating factor" has nothing to do with the water memory affair. You can see the screenshot below. I think this is really problematic. In French we have to different article : one for Jacques Benveniste, and one for "La mémoire de l'eau". This page "Benveniste affair" is linked to the Jacques Benveniste page in French so I think this title is a mistake.
I juste made a proper request edit on the "Benveniste affair" talk. I am trying to reorganize the article so that it becomes a "Jacques Benveniste" article.
I think it is just not normal that "Benvenist affair" appaers each time that Jacques Benveniste is cited somewhere in wikipedia, even if the topic has nothing to do with the memory of water. Don't you agree with that ?

I have responded at the article talk page to your two edit requests, before coming here. I see Guy has left you a helpful message above regarding COI editing. I'd just like highlight out one bullet point, viz, "avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;" that you may wish to consider. regards. -Roxy the grumpy dog. wooF 14:59, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Claire Benveniste (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), you have a conflict of interest. Do not edit any article anywhere on Wikipedia that is in any way related to Jacques Benveniste, as you did here[1] after being warned. Continued violation of out policoes may end up with you being blocked from editing Wikipedia. Nobody wants that. We would lose your comments on article talk pages, which are useful.
I strongly suggest that you read and follow Wikipedia:Best practices for editors with close associations. --Guy Macon (talk) 23:36, 27 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hi Clarie. Thanks for reaching out at my talk page regarding Jacques Benveniste. I am sorry you have gotten quite a harsh response to your edits and edit requests. However, my colleagues are right in everything they say. As you might imagine there is a lot of energy spent at these articles keeping out those who would push an agenda regarding homeopathy. I don't see that from you, more just a concerned relative. I have given a reply at the talk page. I believe there is a strong possibility that we could create a biographical article. It would probably be in your best interests not to edit that article directly if it is created (or the affair one for that matter). You are more than welcome to leave suggestions at the talk page as you have been doing. The best thing you could do is provide sources (you could read WP:GNG for advice, but anything reliable (i.e published by someone reputable) and secondary (not authored by Jacques Benveniste) would be the best way to ensure such an article is accepted. The BMJ article is perfect. Aircorn (talk) 00:27, 28 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
