Wikipedia and copyright

Hello Civilwarbuff1863, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to 5th Maine Volunteer Infantry Regiment and multiple other articles have been removed, as they appear to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues here.

Copying public domain material requires proper attribution

In the future, please add attribution when copying from public domain sources: simply add the template {{PD-notice}} after your citation. I have done so for several articles.
