Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Lakhisarai, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Pala dynasty. Ok, your tendentious editing and WP:IDHT behaviour at Talk:Bhumihar has gone on for long enough. I mentioned WP:GS/Caste there but now you can read up on it here, too. Please take note of the information below. - Sitush (talk) 18:03, 8 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The Wikipedia community has permitted administrators to impose discretionary sanctions on any editor who is active on any page about social groups, explicitly including caste associations and political parties, related to India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. Discretionary sanctions can be used against an editor who repeatedly or seriously fails to adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, any expected standards of behavior, or any normal editorial process. If you engage in further inappropriate behavior in this area, you may be placed under sanctions, which can include blocks, a revert limitation, or an article ban. The discussion leading to the imposition of these sanctions can be read here.

Please familiarise yourself with the information page at Wikipedia:General sanctions/South Asian social groups.

I've closed the discussion. You lack of understanding English and your unwillingness to discuss in good faith makes this impossible.

If you want to continue on the English Wikipedia, I highly suggest:

  1. Follow instructions that you have been given.
  2. Egads, sign your posts. You've been told multiple times.
  3. Use English. For example, done use "........". Spell words. There are no spaces before punctuation.
  4. Don't bash other editors.
  5. Don't bash sources that you happen not to like.

Two things that made me laugh out loud.

  1. "They have not said anything about the research on which their claims were based. They have neither given any proof nor any data."
There are references given for every claim in the book. From outward appearances, the book followed standard scientific approach.
  2. "5.Plz try to adopt a systematic approach . It would be welcome by all ."
It's clear you do not understand what "systematic approach" is. You never did a systematic approach, but the very opposite.

Bgwhite (talk) 19:20, 8 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

On the one hand you claim to have closed the discussion and on the other you could not resist from continuing it here (it means the argument is open ended). It doesn't bother us a bit whether somebody is laughing himself out loud or crying himself out loud, for one knows best about himself. The article Bhumihar is in a pathetic shape because of some inordinate obduracy.

I very much intend to have a prolonged stay here on wikipedia.

Thanks rahila 03:48, 9 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Questions, please reply below[edit]

Hi, Chrishitch. Have you used any earlier accounts for editing Wikipedia? I ask because only a couple of days after creating the account Chrishitch I see you using snatches of Wikipedia jargon such as "Plz refrain from making personal attacks on me" and "Comment on content, not on the contributor" (though without showing much understanding of what they mean). Where did you come across these phrases, and why do you say such things to Sitush? He certainly hasn't made any personal attacks on you, or commented on "the contributor". Please reply below. Bishonen | talk 22:23, 9 August 2015 (UTC).[reply]

Sitush made a very direct insinuation that I supposedly was from the Bhumihar caste and suffered from their prejudices given the fact that I raised the issue on the use of the word hybridity for a ' 'human being ' as the Bhumihars were known to dislike the hybridity narrative. If this doesn't qualify to be called a comment on the contributor then may you decide better.

Here is the text - I suspect the problem here is actually found in the words preceding that one, ie The Bhumihars themselves dislike these narratives ... You may dislike it but Wikipedia is not censored and sources do speak of these relationships. The term itself is harmless and, indeed, in the context of inter-marriage etc it is a normal scientific/biological word. - Sitush (talk) 14:18, 4 August 2015 (UTC)

& then

The source is reliable, the source mentions it, and utcursch has provided links for several others that do also. You need to read WP:IDHT, WP:TLDR and WP:TE because if this continues you are likely to be sanctioned in accordance with WP:GS/Caste. I realise that you do not like it - many Bhumihars do not also - but that is not a reason to remove something. - Sitush (talk) 10:43, 8 August 2015 (UTC)

Calling upon not to do so , Sitush again made the same insinustion in course of the discussion. There was no reminder to him despite I complaining of it to another editor Anastasia.

I don't claim to know all the rules and regulations here on wikipedia esp as Sitush and others have been pointing at my supposed incompetence. I may be incompetent but Wiki doesn't allow only the super competent to contribute.

No, I am fairly new to Wiki as the warnings on signature and other technicalities on my page testify .

What do you mean by where did i come across those phrases ? Any user who creates an account and wishes to contriute on wiki within the bounds of norms and propriety would go through the basic rules of behaviour to be observed by a user . If Sitush can make references to my supposed caste affiliations and casts based prejudices and go uncensored, then I too have a right to ask him not to attack me personally. Neither mine nor Sitush's caste or for that matter your caste perceived creed community or family should be made insinuations at or be made direct references to. I am a new user but these are general mannerisms and etiquettes not unique to me or him .

I think you must go through the discussion at Bhumihar talk to understand the situation better. The rest is upto you people.

Thanks

Bhumihar again[edit]

Please read the article and the source in full before making edits such as this. The article already notes Gait's opinion, and the source makes it clear that his was not an official classification. - Sitush (talk) 09:38, 16 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Fine .

rahila 09:48, 16 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ashwani Kumar says The term Bhumihar Brahmin was adopted by the community in the late-19th century to emphasise their claim of belonging to the priestly Brahmin class.

However here is something interesting , as at pg no 27 in the book 'Women and Social Reform in Modern India: A Reader'

By Sumit Sarkar, Tanika Sarkar , 2008 , Indiana University Press, we find the mention of the words 'Bhumihar Brahmins' for Bhumihar sepoys ,as they were called then.

Apparently Ashwani Kumar is being contradicted here . The reference dates back to 1826 AD.

Sanctions[edit]

You have already had a formal notification of WP:GS/Caste yet you have just now again unnecessarily removed sourced material from the Bhumihar article when a simple word change would have sufficed. This is disruptive and needs to stop. - Sitush (talk) 15:19, 25 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No, not a simple word substitution should suffice , would it ? I have pointed out the vagueness of the information sourced before too. What were the exact censuses being referred to or what were the dates , if any ?

I mean to say , we can't pick flaws in the sources whimsically , or can we ? The source has to be precise about the information especially in regard to well documented , official census information it purportedly reports.

I tried bringing it to the notice of all editors on the talk page , but none replied.

Bhumihar topic ban[edit]

For continued disruption at the article, and especially the WP:IDHT behavior at the talkpage, despite the feedback and numerous warnings listed above and at the ANI recently, I have decided, in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator under the terms of this community's discussion, to impose the following sanction on you:

You are indefinitely banned from making any edit related to Bhumihars anywhere on wikipedia.

This sanction has been logged at Wikipedia:General sanctions/South Asian social groups. If the sanction includes a ban, please read the banning policy to ensure you understand what this means. If you do not comply with this sanction, you may be blocked for an extended period, by way of enforcement of this sanction—and you may also be made subject to further sanctions.

You may appeal this sanction to the community at the administrators' noticeboard and to the Arbitration Committee. You may also appeal directly to me on my talk page, before or instead of appealing to the noticeboard. Even if you appeal this sanction, you remain bound by it until you are notified by an uninvolved administrator that the appeal has been successful. You are also free to contact me on my talk page if anything of the above is unclear to you. Abecedare (talk) 16:34, 25 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You really need to follow instructions and what other people have advised you. Your continuing refusal is very frustrating.

  1. Follow the instructions above on how to file an appeal. You do not add information to a closed discussion as you have done here and here.
  2. Sign you talk messages with ~~~~ and stop using different names and formats. If you want to personalize your signature, follow the instructions at WP:SIG.

Bgwhite (talk) 18:02, 25 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Chris, I have reverted your edit to the ANI archive (which Bgwhite also referred to above). Again, the correct venue for the topic-ban appeal is the administrator's noticeboard. Abecedare (talk) 18:27, 25 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Problem with your custom signature[edit]

You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. A change to Wikipedia's software has made your current custom signature incompatible with the software.

The problem: Your preferences are set to interpret your custom signature as wikitext. However, your current custom signature does not contain any wikitext.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, or you can fix your signature.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box. (It might already be empty.)
  4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page.

More information about custom signatures is available at Wikipedia:Signatures#Customizing how everyone sees your signature. If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures. 19:04, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
