December 2023[edit]

Hello. I wanted to let you know that your recent edit(s) to the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn plot summary have been removed because they added a significant amount of unnecessary detail. Please avoid excessive detail and high word counts when editing plot summaries/synopses. You may read the plot summary edit guides to learn more about contributing constructively to plot summaries/synopses. There are also specific guidelines for films, musicals, television episodes, anime/manga, novels and non-fiction books. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. DonIago (talk) 14:12, 7 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I think that the information that were added are useful for the understanding of the story. Espcially the delirium tremens part which is a key passage of the book Chaozn (talk) 15:46, 7 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome to find ways of incorporating the information that you feel is beneficial while not exceeding the word-count guidelines at WP:NOVELPLOT. If you don't believe there's a viable way to do so, I recommend starting a discussion at the Talk page for the article so that other editors can weigh in. An update that brings the plot summary up to ~850 words is highly inappropriate when WP:NOVELPLOT recommends a maximum of 700. My above comment was not intended to suggest that you should do the best you can while still having the summary exceed the recommend word count by such a significant margin. If you can't figure out a way to bring the summary within the guideline recommendations, ask for help at the Talk page as I mentioned in my above comment. It depends of the plot and of the book. I already asked for help on the discussion page and I think that some elements are worth being add.
Especially the part of the plot where Huck decided to go down the river with Jim to save him from the men who want to capture Jim Chaozn (talk) 09:15, 9 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
