Thanks for your support[edit]

As you set out for Ithaka, hope the voyage is long
Knowledge is your destiny, but don't ever hurry the journey
May there be many summer mornings when
With what pleasure and joy, you come into harbors seen for the first time

Don't expect Ithaka to make you rich. Ithaka gave you the marvelous journey
And, if I, one of your fellow-travellers, can offer something
To make this journey of yours even more fascinating and enjoyable
This is my assistance with anything I can help.

Thanks[edit]

For both the barnstar and especially for citing me there on your user page. That's a really classy gesture and much appreciated. Let me know if you ever have any other projects I might help out on. Best, Dan—DCGeist 07:02, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alternative rock articles rankings[edit]

Hey, we've implemented a ranking system for the Alternative music Wikiproject (Top, high, mid, and low importance). You might want to drop by Wikipedia:WikiProject Alternative music to discuss the application of rankings to articles on the talk page. Is Nine Inch Nails more important than the Stone Roses? FIGHT!! WesleyDodds 22:45, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have a friend who's favorite band is The Fall, so I know better than to stand in the way of Mark E. Smith turning down some fool's bass amp. WesleyDodds 22:57, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Nick Drake[edit]

Before submitting the article to FAC, I'd contact a few FAC regulars who are stringent about prose, and ask them to give it a looking over. If there's any prose wrinkles it's best to iron them out before FAC. LuciferMorgan 03:09, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Liking Nick drake a lot, I compliment you on your work. andreasegde 13:02, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
All I did was copy the whole thing over to Winword and look for the RED lines. Good luck. P.S. I was listening to the sample "River Man" (repeated) all the time I did it. Ahhh... how wonderful. andreasegde 20:22, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Led Zeppelin Fair use rationale[edit]

I hope you do not mind that I used your Fair use rationale to add a few more audio samples to Led_Zeppelin#Discography and complete it so that each album is represented. IrisKawling 06:50, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

FAR thanks[edit]

Ceoil, thanks so much for all the help at FAR - with Tony1 (talk · contribs) away, I'm starting to feel swamped - I've noticed and appreciate you pitching in, since you've "been there, done that"! SandyGeorgia (Talk) 02:35, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Glad you can pitch in later, since I'll be traveling a lot during Feb/March, and we'll be short-handed. Best, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 23:38, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Shostakovich[edit]

Ceoil, why did you remove my youtube link (young Shostakovich playing the end of his op.35)? What's the rationale? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Anatoly larkin (talkcontribs) 02:26, 11 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

SP FAC[edit]

Hi, thanks for dropping by my page. I have been asking those editors quite a few times which images they would like removed and why, DCGeist and I are more than willing to comply with the issues involving the images and audio samples, but we've been given no specifics and would rather have some argument put against certain media rather than just cutting things out of the article at random. - Phorque 16:52, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reign in Blood[edit]

I'll have to take you up on that offer sometime :). Just trying to add more info - can you think of any thing thats missing? I'm sure the Reception section can be expanded also but not sure how. Anyway thanks for the offer and i left some comments on the Ellis Paul FAC. M3tal H3ad 08:11, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the ce :) M3tal H3ad 08:59, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Coil (band ) FA nomination[edit]

Thank you for your input on the article, I have taken your advice. If you have the time to look over the article again and possibly re-comment on the recent changes please do so. --AlexOvShaolin 19:06, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ellis Paul[edit]

Ceoil, I re-wrote the lead paragraph for Ellis Paul, rearranging things a bit and adding a bit of content about his early life. A few weeks ago, after achieving the GA rating, I added content to support statements in the lead - specifically adding information about the DVD, the Notes from the road book and the Woody Guthrie connection. The "Boston School of Songwriting" theme mentioned in the lead is also well-supported so overall I think the lead is a nice overview of what follows in the main article. Kmzundel 15:10, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ceoil, since I'm not sure what you're thinking re: adding a couple more bio sentences to the lead paragraph...is that something you would want to tackle? If not, please give me an idea what you'd want to see there and I'll work on it. Many thanks again. You rock.  :-) Kmzundel 21:21, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I added content to the lead paragraph (and another ref) and also added a bit more to the sound sample captions. Assuming Phorque gives his Support - what happens then? Is there a mininum number of votes required to reach a consensus? Who actually gives the FA stamp of approval? The FA Director? The process is still a little murky to me.... Kmzundel 12:15, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Coil article[edit]

I added this as a second citation to the sentence referring to Scatology as innovative. --AlexOvShaolin 19:36, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello WikiProject Alternative music member.
WikiProject Alternative music, in my eyes, has proved to be successful "improving the encyclopaedic coverage of articles relating to alternative rock", and improving their quality as well. One specific example I have witnessed is The Smashing Pumpkins article. The page has gone from a mediocre work, to GA status, to FA nomination. Only appropriate, as the Pumpkins are undeniably one of the most influential alternative rock bands on the 1990's and beyond.
This is the stuff I wish to achieve with the somewhat recently ressurected WikiProject Rock music. I hope to also attract attention to rock music articles of all sorts, and hopefully change some to GA or FA status. I invite you to come join us, and not only be a member of alternative Wikipedians, but the rockin' ones as well.
Rock on.

Coil[edit]

Ceoil, per your request, I have left a few comments on the Coil FAC page and also made a few style edits in the article itself. I am quite nervous about editing/critiquing others' work. Please let me know if you think my comments and edits are appropriate. Kmzundel 16:44, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the words of encouragement (again!). I'm not sure there will be a next project, at this point.  ;-) One step at a time. I looked at the article you hope to nominate. Very impressive. Confused about where it sits on Wikipedia, since the link to the same article on your user page is much smaller. So many things about the Wiki environment are confusing to me! Speaking of user page.....I looked everywhere and can't seem to locate an e-mail address for you. Where would I find it? :-) Kmzundel 22:20, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yikes. I had never looked at my preferences! Not sure if I want to activate the e-mail preference yet. I need to work on my user page too. Little by little....  :-) Kmzundel 23:06, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Another question/comment. I noticed that although you left comments on the Coil FAC page, you have not supported or opposed. So....it's OK to do that? I'm happy to leave comments for improvement, but because I don't know the subject matter at all, I don't feel comfortable/qualified to support or oppose. Kmzundel 13:43, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Will try to take another look at Coil over the weekend but may not have the time and/or energy. Leaving for New Mexico/Arizona early Tuesday and since I have to work Monday, I MUST prepare for the trip over the weekend. Too much to do and too little time. I'm pretty crazed....but still flying high from the FA.  :-) Kmzundel 04:47, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

One more thing - check out the improvements to my user page. I'm pleased since I don't have a clue as to what I'm doing.  ;-) Kmzundel 14:35, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lol you seem to be giving this Coil article a hard time at FAC. Guess the star will be appreciated more as a result. :) LuciferMorgan 00:34, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sock puppets[edit]

Ceoil, thanks for educating me about sock puppets. I happened across your posts on the Queen FAC. Very interesting.  :-) Kmzundel 17:09, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • I've taken care of some of the issues you have brought up. Please take a look at the current revision and re-review. (Ibaranoff24 22:55, 22 February 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Hi I hope all is well. I wish to submit this article for FAC very soon, and was hoping you could give it the once over to make sure there are no visible problems within the article. If you're too busy, then that's fine - anything you can say regarding the article is fine, whether it be critical or an appraisal. Thanks! LuciferMorgan 00:37, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok thanks, I look forward to your feedback when you have time. I'm sure you'll enjoy Slayer - I saw them in October 2006. LuciferMorgan 20:12, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I hope I don't sound cheeky, but I find my version of the article prior to your edits easier to follow than yours in places, though I like some of the changes you made which help (except the typos!). I'll go for a hybrid - I like your changes to the lead mind. Could you post any suggestions you feel will help on my talk page? Thanks, and hope I haven't caused offense. I may nominate before then, but this depends on what others say. LuciferMorgan 00:48, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm upon closer inspection I'm finding your edits better - the typos put me off. My apologies. LuciferMorgan 00:55, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Is my apology accepted? Will you help me out? I'd be real grateful :) LuciferMorgan 01:02, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I'm real grateful. There's only one or two sentences I had trouble with, but I'm not that good with editing etc. These are the two;

1. "Lyrical themes, in particular in the song "Jihad", which describes the September 11 attacks from a terrorist perspective, outraged the Mumbai-based Catholic Secular Forum in India." Just thought the sentence was a bit snaky that's all.

2. "Jamie Thomson of UK's The Guardian newspaper was scornful of Rubin's contribution, and observed that Slayer "seem unwilling to ditch the nu-metal tendencies that have made much of their recent output so resistible, which suggests Rubin's involvement was considerably less hands-on than in his remarkable redemptions of Johnny Cash and Neil Diamond." I would have used "observing that" instead of "and observed that", since the sentence isn't on another topic but part of the same one. Does that make sense?

Anyway, please don't take offence to my pain in the ass nature - any help you can give would be warmly appreciated. I'm a little wary and scared of the FAC process if I'm to be frank - I'm afraid of 10 people swarming the page and tearing the article to shreds, so thanks a lot for your helpful contributions. LuciferMorgan 01:16, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Much thanks for the extensive work you've done to the Christ Illusion article both today and before, and all the feedback you've given. Last night Seegoon gave me a list of concerns he felt needed addressing - I tried addressing all the ones I felt equipped to do, though there are some left that I don't understand. I'm not saying I disagree with what he is saying, but I don't understand what he saying. If you'd like to strike out the ones you felt you addressed today, then that'd be extremely helpful.
As concerns a Slayer project, it's called WikiProject Slayer and you're welcome to join if you wish - I think you've made enough of a contribution to definitely be a worthy member.
Unfortunately as concerns Blabbermouth, they're a premier metal source and one that all other metal sites steal from. I'm very aware of the over reliance on them as a source as it's been raised a few times, but I can't find alternative sources to do so. With instances where they excerpt from printed interviews, the main problem I have is I don't know which issue (s) the interview (s) was / were printed in, and don't have the page numbers - if I did, I would change them to the original sources straight away.
As concerns the Rubin section, I was thinking of making it its own paragraph first? What do you think? Since I wrote 95% of the article before the copyediting, I can't really see anything wrong but if you can spot something then I'm sure others can. Edit that as you wish.
If you feel the alternate cover would be better placed elsewhere, (maybe the Album Artwork subsection) then go for it and see how it looks.
And don't worry - everything is in the spirit of collaboration, and that's a warming thing. My reverts were rather hasty, and from someone who was editing an article which is the first one he's significantly expanded - before then, my main contribution was adding infoboxes. I hope you can understand, and don't let that minor setback cloud your thoughts of me - ie. don't worry. I'm just wondering why you reverted your own edits? They're fine. Hmm what's going on? You seem real annoyed about something. LuciferMorgan 01:23, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Aggressive comments? I wasn't aware I was being aggressive? I'm sorry if you feel I was at all, but I really want you aboard to help. Can we sort all this out? I'm happy with all your edits, real happy, and am real grateful. If you feel I was aggressive, then you have my humble apologies. LuciferMorgan 01:30, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
When I recieve the email, I'll respond to you. Thanks for the email in advance by the way. I hope we can sort out the "issues" definitely, whatever they may be, as I think we're alright at helping each other out on Wikipedia as Punk Rock and Christ Illusion has shown. LuciferMorgan 01:37, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ellis Paul FA[edit]

Ceoil, I am incredibly humbled. Thank you for your assistance. So many questions....will the Biography Peoject know? Biography Musicians? Still so much to learn.... Kmzundel 12:05, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Helping out with the Unassessed Wikipedia Biographies[edit]

Seeing that you are an active member of the WikiBiography Project, I was wondering if you would help lend a hand in helping us clear out the amount of unassessed articles tagged with {{WPBiography}}. Many of them are of stub and start class, but a few are of B or A caliber. Getting a simple assessment rating can help us start moving many of these biographies to a higher quality article. Thank you! --Ozgod 20:21, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar[edit]

Thank you very much for the Barnstar. How nice of you! --Bookworm857158367 00:40, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
