Hello, Catcrazy5. You have new messages at Wikipedia:Help desk.
Message added Dismas. You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Please help. I am new to Wikipedia. I am not sure exactly what a block means, so please explain. I would appreciate any tips to improve my contributions.

August 2012[edit]

Your addition to How I Met Your Mother (season 8) has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text, or images borrowed from other websites, or printed material without a verifiable license; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. AussieLegend (talk) 02:41, 25 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did to Heinrich von Bamberger. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. AussieLegend (talk) 02:50, 25 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Please make sure to include an edit summary. Please provide one before saving your changes to an article, as the summaries are quite helpful to people browsing an article's history. Thanks! AussieLegend (talk) 02:51, 25 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your suggestions! They are very helpful!

In response to your feedback[edit]

I think it should be rather obvious why something like this is considered vandalism. The rest of your edits have not been particularly helpful, and you have been warned about them. If you understand and acknowledge your mistakes in your unblock request and apologize, then you may be able to edit again. My bad, it seems you block has been lifted. But please try to be more thoughtful about your editing in the future.

So sorry! My younger sister got on my Wikipedia account and had no idea what she was doing! Then it said my account was blocked and I didn't know what it meant. I will definitely change my password and explain to her how bad it is to make careless edits. Once again, I'm so sorry about that! Thank you for your help though! It is greatly appreciated! Ah yes, little brothers and sisters are always a problem. I assume your little sister did this. Have you changed your password yet, becasue this looks more of the same. --AussieLegend (talk) 00:25, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

While I'm here, please ensure edit summaries are accurate. This didn't de-orphan the article at all, it just removed the orphan tag. And don't link dates, either.[1] Or common words.[2] --AussieLegend (talk) 00:25, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, in fact she did! I will change my password right now! Thank you for letting me know. And thank you again for your very helpful suggestions. I can always use those! Catcrazy5 (talk) 00:37, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Please be aware, as AussieLegend noted above, that you are responsible for everything that happens on your account, regardless of who you accuse of doing it. Further infractions carry the risk of losing your editing privileges. I, Jethrobot drop me a line (note: not a bot!) 00:41, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, thank you for making me aware. Catcrazy5 (talk) 00:47, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Because all accounts on this computer are now blocked indefinitely, and wikipedia has not been the best experience for me, which is a shame, because I was looking forward to helping contribute to this site, would you mind just deleting all of my accounts or at least the information from them? It would be appreciated. Catcrazy5 (talk) 01:18, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid Wikipedia accounts can't be deleted. A boat that can float! (watch me float!) 05:04, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please unblock my account? I have come back weeks later to ask this which I hope proves that I want it back really, really bad! Thank you. P.S. How do you sign your posts? Thank you again!

I've re-added the block template that you removed below, as it explained how to request that your account be unblocked.

You can sign your talk page messages (as you did above) by adding ~~~~ (four tildes) at the end of your post. DoriTalkContribs 01:14, 28 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

block template[edit]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because your account is being used only for vandalism. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Can you please unblock my account? I have come back a month later which I hope proves that I want my account back very badly. If it doesn't, can you please tell me what I have to do to get it unblocked? Thank you.Catcrazy5 (talk) 21:14, 28 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Since you said your little sister got a hold of your account, we must consider it compromised and we will have to leave it blocked per WP:GOTHACKED and basic principles of network security. You can always start another, or use one of the other accounts you just inadvertently admitted you have (as long as you don't use any of the other ones). — Daniel Case (talk) 14:06, 29 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • The question that I have is: why do you want your account back very badly? What will you do if you are unblocked? --Rschen7754 07:43, 29 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I see above you said "would you mind just deleting all of my accounts". How many accounts, and what are they? Peridon (talk) 12:52, 29 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

For the most part, I look up information and if I catch something small, such as a spelling error, it would be nice to correct it. There are two accounts on the IP address. One of them is another member of my family's. I don't know what it is, though. Catcrazy5 (talk) 14:55, 29 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
