On you review of Coca Cola you said the following

  • "Coca-Cola did actually contain cocaine at one point per se, which is a highly refined extract of coca leaves and was always far too expensive to use in a mass-market beverage. However, as cocaine is one of numerous alkaloids present in the coca leaf, it was nevertheless present in the drink." These sentences need to be re-written.

Could you explain why/how you want them rewriiten.--Natl1 (Talk Page) (Contribs) 20:35, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

History of the Jews in Malta / History of the Jews in Libya[edit]

Thank you for your response to my comment on the article: History of the Jews in Malta. I see we see things the same way. I will make a minor adjustment aimed at making the article somewhat clearer.

BTW I notice you also worked on the article about Jews in Libya. I wonder whether you have any information about a story heard that immediately after the destruction of the second temple, there was massive jewish emigration, and that the new emigrants successfully converted almost the whole Libyan population to Judiasm, and that the name Libya in fact signifies "land of the Levites"?

German/English translations for SS divisions[edit]

Hello. Wandalstouring indicated to me that you might be able to give a little guidance for translations. I'm in the process of doing some (minor) improvements to our articles on the various SS divisions, and, after discussion with a couple other users, determined to translate the orders of battle into English. You can see my first stab at this here. However, I have a couple of questions. First, is "detachment" the best translation for "abteilung"? And second, while I think "assault gun" is the best translation for "sturmgeschütz," the resulting "assault gun detachment" is a little clunky. Is ther another (better) translation? Any other suggestions/corections would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Carom 17:35, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

a Wilderness of Mirrors[edit]

Well, thanks for replying, at least. I responded to your initial mark of deletion within an hour. I listed reasons for its inclusion on the talk page. In the next THIRTY SECONDS, someone else tagged it for speedy deletion and someone else erased it. I think that's pretty stupid. An article in good faith and well written, on an album that's in print, on sale currently, and reviewed on allmusic gets erased with no real warning and absolutely NO chance for the writer to defend the inclusion, while every single trivial iteration of childish cartoons, fantasy characters and video games no one has ever heard of get their own page. Not to mention that Wikipedia has (badly written, error-ridden) articles on every trance DJ and niche artist ever, and it pretty much reveals that Wikipedia is an essentially foolish project: nerds getting themselves off with the only power they'll ever taste. Anyway, that's me done with this thing. I can see now why vandals love this place so much. Ensiform 22:52, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I mean, look at the article on Nelson Miller, for God's sake! Why not delete it? he doesn't even have ANY albums! Ensiform 23:02, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Talk-page speedys[edit]

I'm probably not the best person to ask, as I don't do a lot of SDing in the article space, but I say "yes", as deleting the content would have made such a comment moot... Alai 19:11, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I saw you reverted the anon's blanking of their talk page and accompanying apology. I was wondering why? From what I've seen around there is consensus that users are allowed to remove comments from their talk pages, and the comment he/she replaced it with seems like a good faith apology for past vandalism to me. It almost seems lik biteing to revert it. I undid your edit, left an {{Unsigned|150.199.175.70}} tag on their apology, and gave them a welcome-anon message. We should probably keep an eye on them to make sure they don't start vandalising again; but still - I see no reason to revert their apology. Do you? ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 19:43, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Winner Winner Chicken Dinner[edit]

I'm not big AfDing legitimatly contested prods. I've always been of the opinion that if there's a legitimate reason to object to deletion, that I should watchlist it, and add appropriate maintainance tags. A few times such articles have festered for several months and I've afd'd for lack of sources and being orphaned. So, at this time, I'm not going to nominate it for deletion. i kan reed 00:35, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

I have proposed that List of German agriculture ministers be merged into List of Federal Ministers for Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection (Germany), an article which you created. Do you by chance have the source for the content of the latter page (or are the ministers' articles themselves the sources)? If you could specify the source, I will perform the merge myself (the latter article is more detailed, but the former's coverage begins in 1919--30 years earlier).

Thank you, Black Falcon 03:51, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The information was taken from the German language article.--Carabinieri 12:00, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, I will use the information there to complete merge. Black Falcon 17:59, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Carabinieri, many thanks for your comments on the ARF's peer review. I edited in accordance w/ your suggestions but for the one about "most politically-oriented"...it's because the 2 other main political parties (Hunchak and Ramgavar Party/AGBU) aren't as active as the ARF and they have mostly been working educational and cultural projects. I tried to include it but that would kinda go off topic in the header. I completed all other suggestions and am looking forward for your next batch of comments whenever you can read the rest of the article. Thanks again :) - Fedayee 22:05, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Leo Messi article[edit]

Hi, i was not logging in of late. Saw the following message of yours

Way back in June you edited the article about Lionel Messi adding the following sentence: "Messi famously acknowledged his shortened initiation in international football before Argentina's next match against Paraguay saying "This is a re-debut, The first one was a bit short.""([1]) You did not, however, a source that statement. Could you please do so? Google only finds Wikipedia and en.thinkexist.com when searching for that quote and aparently anyone can add quotes to the latter website so it's not really a reliable source. If no source is found the assertion will have to be removed.--Carabinieri 21:29, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

I can see that subsequent to this you had carried out the said removal of content. My mistake not to cite the source in june; actually it is only later that we added sources to this article. However the the quotes were true and there is no reason for google to fail in providing the sources if searched with consideration. Here is one reliable source for you[1]. Anyhow since it is not a very important statement in the light of the article, I am not pushing the quote back :) --Su30 15:48, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:The Wild Child.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:The Wild Child.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box.
