Question from AlexaVLTD (20:21, 8 March 2024)[edit]

Hi , when making an article , is it very important to add references , what if a person or a user has no article based on them but wants a prescense --AlexaVLTD (talk) 20:21, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A request.[edit]

Good morning/evening/afternoon to you, I am requesting your assignment to me as a mentor as my past mentor CommanderInDubio is now serving a permanent block and I have no mentor due to that.

Question from WendlingCrusader (00:11, 16 March 2024)[edit]

I followed the link to a suggested (easy) edit, but found that the article was seriously hi-jacked back in 2017, and now represents an entirely different subject. Where do I even begin to discuss this? FYI the original article was about a charity created in France in 1980. The current version is about a (related but independent) British branch of the same charity, featuring a similar name, founded much later in 2006.

Aviation Without Borders aka Aviation Sans Frontières - ASF (UK)

Link to the edit/editor who appears to have initiated the change in focus https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Aviation_Without_Borders&oldid=808717968 --WendlingCrusader (talk) 00:11, 16 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Update; I have just discovered some further information on this matter. It appears that one or more staff from the charity 'Aviation Without Borders' edited this Wikipedia entry back in 2017, in order to change the subject matter. This was using an ID which has subsequently been blocked. There has been an appeal, and a discussion about the user ban as recently as December 2023, which I have only just found;
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Aviation_Without_Borders
Note that the username is identical to the title of the article, and seems to belong to either Junaid Moolimani (Trustee/Chair) or Stanley Stewart (Trustee), or is shared between them.
Note that they are both involved with ASF (UK), not the 'parent' organisation in Geneva, or the original charity in France. It seems that they desire the Wikipedia article to be about their UK branch of the charity. Surely that should be either a whole new article, or a sub to the original article.
Maybe sorting this mess needs someone with more Wikipedia experience than myself? WendlingCrusader (talk) 00:55, 16 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
