Hello Cannon Crew. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Heavy Seas Beer, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Cannon Crew. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Cannon Crew|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. --Hadal (talk) 20:40, 7 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I did not know that updating content to my companies Wikipedia site is paid editing. I will take the steps to disclose that this is paid editing. Also the 2 accounts are for the same company but different people. But will only be using the Cannon Crew from here on out to make any changes Cannon Crew (talk) 14:45, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

User is unresponsive. Yamla (talk) 22:27, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

What sort of editing would you intend to do if unblocked? signed, Rosguill talk 02:12, 15 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
We will be updating the Heavy Seas Beer site on Wikipedia. information is out of date. This is the only thing we will be doing on Wikipedia if we are unblocked.signed, Cannon Crew talk 10:08, 27 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It's unlikely that you will be unblocked unless you agree to avoid editing the Heavy Seas Beer article directly, and instead use the edit request process to submit changes that can be reviewed by neutral editors. And apart from the most basic facts and figures taken from company sources, the majority of your sources will have to be reliable sources that have no affiliation to the company. We have little interest in what a company wishes to say about itself. Will you agree to these conditions? --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 16:00, 27 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Checkuser note: Heavy Seas Beer, Cannon Crew, and Houndtown are  Technically indistinguishable. @Nihonjoe: I'm not sure I understand why this is a sockblock? Heavy Seas Beer was blocked for the username alone, with autoblock disabled, account creation enabled, and a block notice that invites them to make a new account, which they did. That said, the COI and continued evasion as Houndtown (an account that hasn't disclosed) is obviously a concern. --Blablubbs (talk) 15:07, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
They were blocked as a sock because they continued doing exactly the same thing while the other account was blocked for having a promotional username. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 16:17, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Houndtown has also been blocked as a sock, despite their denials on their talk page. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 15:54, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
