Welcome![edit]

Some cookies to welcome you!

Welcome to Wikipedia, Butcherfan! I am Mysdaao and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

Butcher page[edit]

Please don't butcher the Butcher page (sorry - couldn't help the pun). If you make an edit and the templates are suddenly broken, undo your changes and ask how to use templates first. If you can't do that, ask on the page's talk page for help. -- kainaw 17:54, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

And be aware that you don't "own" the page. You are just another editor, with no right to preserve what you created once you donated it to the Wikipedia project If you do not want your writing to be edited, used, and redistributed at will, then do not submit it here. --Orange Mike | Talk 18:01, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Assuming you are new... You did update the page, but you didn't provide any references. You didn't cite any sources. So, changing the missing references date from Aug 2009 to Feb 2010 was not justified. If you need help citing sources, please ask. -- kainaw 18:24, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I received your message on my talk page and saw your message on the Help Desk. I do not believe that you understand that you do not in any way own the Ed Butcher page. You are not the administrator of it. You are not the manager of it. You are not the protector of it. You are nothing more than a volunteer for Wikipedia - the same as everyone else. So, anyone here is allowed (and expected) to edit the Ed Butcher page. If you have a dispute with how it is being edited, state so on the talk page: Talk:Ed_Butcher. -- kainaw 20:02, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
