You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Sara Rue; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. First allow me to apologize, I was not aware that IMDB wasn't a acceptable source. Could you tell me what constitutes a reliable source please. Since this is not an acceptable source, I don't know how or where I would find out her Birthday outside getting a copy of her drivers license or Birth Certificate. Secondly, I was still in the process of entering her birthday at the same time as you were deleting it. So I was not starting any kind of "Edit War". I only wish to make Wikipedia better because I think it's a fantastic place to get information. Can you steer me in the right direction vis-a-vie Sources. Buskieboy, hi, thanks for your message. The first place you might want to look is WP:RSP which is just a repository of the most frequently used and abused sources in Wikipedia articles. The green ones are good for use, the red ones bad. The reasons we don't use IMDb are because it is chiefly user-generated content, and this content is published uncritically, without a lot of editorial oversight.

It is actually not permitted to use driver's licenses or birth certificates. See the policy WP:BLPPRIMARY. We basically need this stuff to go through secondary sources. The most common outlets to publish birthdays would be interview or trade magazines, such as People or Variety or Vanity Fair. If Rue isn't in the habit of disclosing her birthdate in interviews, then it probably just isn't out there.

We also have a policy WP:DUE that says we put stuff in articles according to its coverage in reliable sources. So if an aspect of Rue is widely-covered, such as her starring in Less Than Perfect, then we give it prominence in the article, and if it's got less coverage, then it gets less prominence.

I hope this helps a little bit. Wikipedia has a lot of policy dedicated to reliable sources, and we also have a noticeboard for questions about them WP:RSN - the best way to use this would be to search the archives for previous discussions! Hi Elizium23, The license/birth certificate was me being cheeky. Thanks for the guidance, I will go to the places you suggest in the future. I don't edit too much, just small things I may find in my travels on Wikipedia. I figure if 1,000,000 users all contributed a tiny bit this would be an even more amazing site. I'll leave the large edits to the pro's! I'm still a newbie with this stuff. Thanks again, and have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. (So long 2020! :D )
