Lots of work to do, but there is no limit to what we can achieve!

Il campiello cast[edit]

Thanks for these. I think the tenor Zaccarini is Franco. Do you agree?

Signing[edit]

Perhaps I should explain that the way we sign is with four tildes ~ ~ ~ ~ without the spaces!

Kleinzach 00:54, 30 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Or click the second button from the right in the row above this box, as I am about to do --GuillaumeTell 12:01, 1 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The tildes are upper case (at least on a Mac keyboard). Does that help? - Kleinzach 11:20, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

AOL IP[edit]

If you give me the IP that was blocked I can unblock it for you. This is just because of User:Dante26, another AOL user who is causing problems. Ashibaka tock 22:56, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Ricci brothers[edit]

I wonder if you would you like to write short articles or stubs on the Riccis? We are trying to complete our coverage of 370 opera composers, and they are among the last 12 to be written up! Best regards.

Kleinzach 12:46, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The articles are up now. Did I forget to tell you? They are are at Federico Ricci and Luigi Ricci. Best - Kleinzach 11:22, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Opera buffa vs Comic opera[edit]

Both opera buffa and comic opera suggest (regardless of the accuracy of the statement) that the names mean the same thing (not to mention Opéra comique). Since you have stated that you feel a merge is not required, perhaps you could join us at Talk:Opera buffa and describe what you see as the appropriate distribution of the material that is currently located across multiple pages. Thanks. -Harmil 15:32, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Alessandro nelle Indie[edit]

Hello, I'm afraid I've reverted your edit, because I double checked my source and it does indeed say it had 70 consecutive performances in its opening run, and because you gave no source for your edit I figured it was safer to keep it with something sourced, just in case. Could you explain your reasoning or give your source for your edit? Talk:Alessandro nelle Indie would be the best place to discuss it, or you could just change the article and add a source. If you need help with the weird citation style, let me know. Mak (talk) 17:52, 23 July 2007 (UTC) Hi: .I have seen the source that gives 70 consecutive perfs.butcan't find it now. . Thereis a relatively newchronologyof the San Carlo(Il Teatrodi S. Carlo vol. II, Naples, 1987 which gives ALL the operas each season. Thus Sep. 30 was Alessandro,Nov.4 was Berenice in Roma(35 days later), which makes70 consecutive perfs. impossible.[reply]

Note that70 consecutive perf. is highly unlikely sincesingersneed a rest.

I've just tabulated the list - hopefully without too many mistakes! Best. --Kleinzach 06:25, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Current Opera Project discussions[edit]

Hello from the Opera Project. I'm writing to all members on the active list to let them know that we could use your input on several issues currently under discussion on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Opera:

  • The use of italics in article titles
  • Possible changes to the article guidelines concerning "Selected Recordings"
  • Suggestions for the July Composer of the Month and Opera of the Month

Please drop by if you have the time. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 08:25, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Message to all members of WikiProject Opera[edit]

Please see our project's talk page for a discussion of the possible changes to Wikipedia's policy on the biographies of living persons and the implications this will have for many articles under the project's banner. This is especially important if you are looking after or have created unreferenced or minimally referenced opera-related biographies of living people.
