Radio station formats

Please refrain from introducing original research, as you have done in several instances on radio station articles, most recently here. Mediabase 24/7 should be considered the official source for format classifications for stations that are monitored. Just because Station X may have made a certain adjustment to the number of spins on their top songs, that does not mean that they have changed or adjusted formats. Thanks! StrikerforceTalk Review me! 16:27, 14 July 2011 (UTC)

Once again, I must ask you to refrain from introducing original research, as you did on WKRZ and WXRK, per the rationale that I provided above. Thanks! StrikerforceTalk Review me! 03:06, 27 July 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the pix

Thanks for updating the i-MiEV picture on Hydro-Québec. Since you obviously were present at the last MIAS, I was wondering if you had a general picture of the show to feature on Montreal International Auto Show (one with crowds or a general picture of the setup). Cheers. Bouchecl (talk) 05:15, 7 August 2011 (UTC)

RE: Your edit to KWYL

Per Mediabase, all three stations - KLCA, KWNZ, and KWYL - are CHR/Pop. You continue to draw conclusions based on original research that you can not cite. Please stop changing the formats of radio stations without a reliable source. I daresay - given what I do for a living - that I might just be a bit more of a qualified editor in this field than you are. If you can provide a reliable source to support your conclusions, that's great, but without a source, it's OR and it's not permissible. StrikerforceTalk Review me! 22:45, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

CKX-TV

Hi. I've reverted your edit to CKX-TV claiming that the license has been revoked. While I do believe a revocation is inevitable, I've yet to see a CRTC decision about this (and any time a license revocation happens, the CRTC issues a decision on it, even if it's a very short one indicating they merely approved what amounts to simply handing the license back in)—and no other source was given. (Then again, REC, and thus Industry Canada records, does seem to show that all that exists of CKX-TV are digital allocations (the only "CKX" that doesn't meet that criteria is radio station CKX-FM), but the CRTC's silence is unusual; when CHCA-TV, another Canadian television station that closed in 2009, was revoked, there was a decision that said so. But CHCA does not appear as such in REC/IC records at all anymore, so it's apparent that CKX-TV still exists on paper somehow, but perhaps solely as the as-yet-unbuilt CKX-DT.) You'll have to cite a source for the CKX-TV revocation claim if you re-add the it to the article. Thank you for your understanding. --WCQuidditch 00:03, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

Rogers adult contemporary stations in Northern Ontario

Hi there, I didn't know that CJMX-FM is still listed as adult contemporary through mediabase so I am going to list CHAS-FM, CHUR-FM and CKGB-FM back to adult contemporary from hot adult contemporary and the same goes for the List of radio stations in Ontario. The reason why I listed them as hot ac is because the music has more like a hot ac feel to it with the "Today's Best Music" slogan. Webfan29 (talk) 02:00, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

CFTM/CFMT

Hey, just to note that as of 11:05am today, CFTM-TV Montreal is still analog. Maybe you meant CFMT Toronto is switching to digital? InMontreal (talk) 15:06, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:1990 Stanza.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Please stop adding original research statements to articles

Hello. As an established editor, I am not going to template you, but I am going to ask you to stop adding original research statements to articles about radio stations. While some of your edits as of late may have been technically accurate, you (nor anyone else) can not support those edits with reliable sources. For example, saying that KHHM can not be a CHR because a market "can't have three of the same format" is wrong. There is nothing written anywhere that says a certain market is limited to two of any given format. Any further edits that are purely original research may be considered vandalism and reverted (as well as reported, if it gets to that point) as such. I've taken a look at your edit history and your work with car articles looks very good.. just have to improve on the radio station front :) StrikerforceTalk Review me! 00:15, 22 September 2011 (UTC)

I have commented previously (see my notes above of July 14, July 27, August 8, and September 22) about your tendency to add original research to articles about radio stations and made fair warning that continuing the habit of doing so may result in those edits being considered vandalism. As such, this warning. Sorry. StrikerforceTalk Review me! 02:18, 3 October 2011 (UTC)

WLER-FM

Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to WLER-FM. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. PLEASE stop adding original research to radio station articles. The simple fact that station X is one format does not in any way, shape, or form mean that station Y can not be that format. It doesn't work that way. StrikerforceTalk Review me! 03:28, 18 October 2011 (UTC)

WWFS format

My contention of the format being Mainstream AC is supported by two reliable sources - Mediabase 24/7 and the corporate website of CBS Radio. I have suggested (twice now) that you see the WWFS talk page in order to participate in a discussion toward reaching consensus. As I am well aware of the limits of 3RR, I will not be reverting you again, but I will not hesitate to report you, should you revert without participating in the discussion that I have begun on the article's talk page. Your efforts on this front, as well as your continued insistence in adding original research to articles (namely, stating that station X can not be a certain format because station(s) Y and/or Z are that format in the same market or that their sister station, sister station J, is one thing, so station X must be the same) leads me to believe that this subject (radio stations) may not be one that you should be editing within. Please make sure that your additions are supported by reliable sources. StrikerforceTalk Review me! 04:58, 18 October 2011 (UTC)

IFCAR's photos

I'm sure IFCAR is more than capable of inserting his own images into articles where appropriate. It is getting very annoying having to revert (no joke) half of your edits because you seem to assume that just because the image is newer it therefore must be better. I generally find IFCAR's judgement of image quality to be spot on, so can we leave this up to him to do please? Regards, OSX (talkcontributions) 01:47, 16 October 2011 (UTC)

Also, while you're on your self-improvement kick:
1. If you do change an image, also change the caption as necessary.
2. Try and make a change in one edit rather than two. IFCAR (talk) 02:54, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
And you're still doing it. Another four articles today. OSX (talkcontributions) 09:00, 13 November 2011 (UTC)

Vehicle pictured is not a Triumph TR250

The vehicle in the photograph you uploaded to the Triumph TR250 page is a Triumph Herald. It is not a Triumph TR250. The TR250 had the same body as the TR4. The main difference was the engine. It also had a stripe that ran horizontally across the front of the hood and down the fenders on either side. (See the photo by Simon Clay that also appears in the TR250 article.)

Another one was done at KJLH when the User:SanDiegoCa listed the station as urban contemporary, but they're not. By Arbitron, Mediabase & Nielsen BDS, KJLH is an urban AC. -- Bull-Doser (talk) 06:03, 16 November 2011 (UTC)
There isn't any musical difference between Urban Contemporary and Urban Adult Contemporary. Seriously. It's like comparing McIntosh Apples with Rome Apples. Same damned red apple, just a different name. It's symantics and you are trying to create a reason so you can put unsourced information into radio station pages. Ain't gonna happen. - NeutralhomerTalk • 08:59, 16 November 2011 (UTC)
Late to the party on this, but in defense of BD, there is a difference between Urban and Urban AC. UAC tends to lean much harder on recurrents and gold than Urban, much like the difference between Hot AC and AC. However, other parts of his edit history do - in my opinion - justify the block issued below. StrikerforceTalk Review me! 05:10, 20 December 2011 (UTC)

Incorrect Vehicle Identification / Picture Posting

Please remove your picture on this page [1] as it is not an e21 3 Series limo, it is an e12 5 Series limo. You should also change your identification of it at this address [2] since it is not correct. The key styling points that show this is an e12 and not an e21 are the turn indicators being in the fender (they are located in the grilles of the e21 between the headlights and the fender) and the vents at the rear of the hood line (e21's have slats integrated into the hood, not separate plastic grills like in the picture). This information is available anywhere that talks about the styling of both vehicles, you should have researched before posting.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.105.195.146 (talk) 21:48, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

Sadowski (talk) 10:14, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

By the way I REALLY need a 1941 Oldsmobile 98 image, preferably a 4-door convertible. It would really kick off the Olds 98 page. If that were to happen I would feel enervated to completely rewrite the page with references. Sadowski (talk) 10:19, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
I don't know how you go about your business but I must say the following. Although I often reject your additions (I also often add them before you do) I often find some of them incredibly indispensible. Wikipedia is in desperate need of Oldsmobile 98 images. I know the cars are rare. But they are very interesting. Sadowski (talk) 00:52, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
P.S. Please tone down the unusual exposures. I think a more simple approach to car photography would be much more acceptable as well as be more interesting. Believe it or not a nice simple three-quarter regular exposure shot is highly desirable (and seemingly extremely hard to come by).
P.P.S. As much as I have opposed you, I also support your efforts.

I have reverted your edits on this page.

As someone living in Saint-Hubert in the 1980s and 1990s, I know this mall well enough to know that the informations you've wrote are inaccurate. And I can clearly tell that you've edited this page based on what you thought was the "most likely possible scenario" instead of researching thoroughly the history of the mall. While some of the things you wrote on the article is true, the vast majority isn't and gives the impression that you were editing through wild guessing.

Therefore, your edits have been reverted and it will stay that way until you start editing based on facts rather than by your own assumptions and perception. I could have corrected the incorrect infos but they were so many maistakes than I just thought it would be better to revert all your edits for now and to start from skratch.

Also please note that although Greenfield Park is now part of the city of Longueuil, "Greenfield Park" is what should be displayed on the infobox since Canada Post never changed the addresses of Greenfield Park. Thank you. Farine (talk) 04:39, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

WSNE-FM

WSNE-FM is not part of the Boston DMA. It may show up in the ratings there, but they are not a subscriber to the Boston ratings book, nor part of the Boston MSA. In the future, to see what market a radio station belongs to, use this lookup tool which shows market listings per market. A couple of other notes, while the station is licensed to Taunton, the actual transmitter is in Rehoboth, at the tower farm used by the Providence broadcasters. Yes, the signal does get into Boston, but so do signals from New Hampshire (WZID), Cape Cod (WCIB) and Worcester (WSRS), that doesn't define them as Boston stations. So with respect to WSNE-FM, it is not a Boston radio station. Please do not re add WSNE to the Boston market listing, it doesn't belong there. NECRATSpeak to me 01:54, 15 July 2012 (UTC)

Please do not use the defunct infobox template on the article until ALL stores have closed in 2013. Until Zellers closes its very last store on March 31, 2013, it logically isn't a defunct chain. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
