I am getting no help from the page editors on this topic other than copied stock replies. Just that in your opinion, it is wrong. There is an obnoxious template on the page that is seemingly asking an admin to remove the plot that is there. Having compared the plot summary that is there now, it doesn't appear to be plagiarized from "Esquire". I was asking why the template you placed on the page? Oh, I see. No, that template alerts administrators to the fact that a copyright violation existed in the article's history. Copyvios can have legal ramifications, so those revisions will have to be deleted from the history. Personal letter to you

Dear Bonadea:

I am very sorry I have frustrated and irritated you. I deeply am. I am a nice fellow and, by nature, am not pushy or demanding. Nor am I thick-headed. I regret I have come across this way.

The fact is, I have been operating under fear. I have been very afraid of what has been happening to this page. I have held much pride in the page for years and have drawn strength in my writing from the presence of "Wikipedia" page about me.

When a month or so ago I myself uploaded photos and caused a conflict of interest, I broke into panic of what was happening, and this irrational state has continued and caused my frantic messages ever since. I blindly ran past your replies and overlooked the fact you are volunteers - and did not appreciate and respect what that means.

I now see how my replies have come across unwisely and rashly. In particular, by saying "my page," I actually intended to shortcut the longer phrase of "the Wikipedia page about me" - again, a rushed use of language under the wind of desperation and fear of time passing.

I am 56 and feel 76. I don't have children or a spouse or a significant other. My work has made me a recluse--or rather I have let that happen. For the last two years, I have suffered from near-paralysis due to a spinal cord injury. None of this is an excuse for my behavior, but perhaps it offers a little explanation. I do not feel well. I have not felt well for some time while staring into the face of my own mortality and knowing that my best work lies years ahead, years I may not have.

I cannot express enough how much fear has worked against me in our interactions and has worked against you in helping me. I have alienated you when all my life I have been told I am a sweet, unassuming, dear man.

Being afraid is a terrible feeling, and I have let it force my hand in poor judgment.

Please forgive me and allow me the chance to listen and act carefully from now on.

You're a 'Featured Host'

You may have seen this announcement that all the 'Featured Hosts' - whose names and pictures randomly cycle round in the Teahouse Header - have just been updated.

As you are currently one of the 29 most active editors at WP:TH, your name and an image has now replaced that of an inactive host. But because you haven't yet added yourself to the full list of active hosts, I have simply used the default image of a cup of green tea. It would be great if you would now do two things:

• Check or change the 'featured host' image allocated to you. Edit it at Wikipedia:Teahouse/Host/Featured/19, or undo my changes if you don't wish to be 'featured'.
• Create a 'host profile' for yourself, and choose a relevant picture - click the 'Experienced editor?' button in the TH Header to formally sign up to create a separate entry on the full list of all 89 current hosts which new editors can view.

I'm afraid this coincides with me feeling rather disenchanted with Wikipedia (for several reasons), but Teahouse hosting is still something important to do and I'm happy to stay on the list of hosts until such time as I decide that I'll withdraw from circulation entirely. You deleted not only the Tripadvisor, Facebook groups etc but the newspaper articles sources. 2. There was over 10 of the cross-references provided. There is no problem to provide hundreds. Will it fit the guidelines? 3. Flixbus own page is extremely biased. It does not match with any of the rports online even closely. Newertheless the link on Flixbus is staying on the page. There was a Polish newspaper source but it was only used to support a sub-clause in the text, plus one of the bullet points (all of which were original research). It doesn't matter how many primary sources you use - you cannot synthesise them in a Wikipedia article. That is original research. This was nothing short of ridiculous. In the unlikely event that you were actually trying to improve the article you could add one or two cn tags, but since you required citations of relative pronouns, as well as facts that were well-cited in the article, it seems unlikely that you were after anything other than making a point and making the intro unreadable. --bonadea contributions talk 14:02, 21 June 2019 (UTC)

WMF at work on NPP Improvements

More new features are being added to the feed, including the important red alert for previously deleted pages. This will only work if it is selected in your filters. Best is to 'select all'. Do take a moment to check out all the new features if you have not already done so. If anything is not working as it should, please let us know at NPR. There is now also a live queue of AfC submissions in the New Pages Feed. Feel free to review AfCs, but bear in mind that NPP is an official process and policy and is more important.

QUALITY of REVIEWING

Articles are still not always being checked thoroughly enough. If you are not sure what to do, leave the article for a more experienced reviewer. Please be on the alert for any incongruities in patrolling and help your colleagues where possible; report patrollers and autopatrolled article creators who are ostensibly undeclared paid editors. The displayed ORES alerts offer a greater 'at-a-glance' overview, but the new challenges in detecting unwanted new content and sub-standard reviewing do not necessarily make patrolling any easier, nevertheless the work may have a renewed interest factor of a different kind. A vibrant community of reviewers is always ready to help at NPR.

Backlog

The backlog is still far too high at between 7,000 and 8,000. Of around 700 user rights holders, 80% of the reviewing is being done by just TWO users. In the light of more and more subtle advertising and undeclared paid editing, New Page Reviewing is becoming more critical than ever.

Move to draft

NPR is triage, it is not a clean up clinic. This move feature is not limited to bios so you may have to slightly re-edit the text in the template before you save the move. Anything that is not fit for mainspace but which might have some promise can be draftified - particularly very poor English and machine and other low quality translations.

Notifying users

Remember to use the message feature if you are just tagging an article for maintenance rather than deletion. Otherwise articles are likely to remain perma-tagged. Many creators are SPA and have no intention of returning to Wikipedia. Use the feature too for leaving a friendly note note for the author of a first article you found well made or interesting. Many have told us they find such comments particularly welcoming and encouraging.

PERM

Admins are now taking advantage of the new time-limited user rights feature. If you have recently been accorded NPR, do check your user rights to see if this affects you. Depending on your user account preferences, you may receive automated notifications of your rights changes. Requests for permissions are not mini-RfAs. Helpful comments are welcome if absolutely necessary, but the bot does a lot of the work and the final decision is reserved for admins who do thorough research anyway.

Seeing your previous editing activities, I doubt it. What is the link? I'll probably remove it from this page after looking at it, but it would be impossible to agree to add a reference without seeing it first. Also please be clear about which unsourced information in the article would be covered by the citation. --08:08, 5 July 2019 (UTC)

B&R Samizdat Express AKA Seltzer Books

I see that you deleted the brief article about my business that was originally submitted to Wikipedia by a customer over 20 years ago. The deleted content still appears at https://en.everybodywiki.com/B%26R_Samizdat_Express That text was recently revised and is accurate.

In your note about the deletion, you say "They changed their name to Seltzberg Books last year, but I cannot find independent sources discussing the company in depth under the old or the new name." "Seltzberg Books" is not the name. Rather it is Seltzer Books. It is possible that you were unable to find other sources because you were searching for the wrong name.

My website has been active since 1994 and includes archival material of interest to Internet historians, such as the complete text of the first consumer book about search engines - The AltaVista Search Revolution (the Way Back Machine archived this site 666 times), as well as unique information about the history of Ethiopia, including the complete text of the book Ethiopia Through Russian Eyes, which the journal Old Africa called "he most important book on the history of eastern Africa to have been published for a century." There are references to and links to my web site in Wikipedia articles related to Ethiopia.

Hi, I did not delete the article B&R Samizdat Express, I merely nominated it for deletion. I suspect that "Seltzberg books" was a typo in the nomination statement (embarrassing for me) because I know I searched for sources based on the current website of the company - and doing so again right now I still can't find a single source showing that there is any notability, according to Wikipedia's definition of notability. Also note that two other editors also looked for sources and didn't find them. I don't have the tools to undelete articles in any case; the administrator who actually deleted the article can be found through the deletion log of B&R Samizdat Express. --bonadea contributions talk 15:44, 5 August 2019 (UTC)
