List of Unrecognized Countries (Add the following consensus to the TRNC paragraph that appeared before edit-wars)

You should fix the page to a situation that is just before edit-war. If you analysis the previous versions of the page (21.07.2007 and earlier ones), you will see that the phrase "UN Secretary General Kofi Annan's 2004 Report to UN Security Council on Cyprus (after the referenda in both sides of the island) writes the urgent need to remove the isolation of TRNC" . This phrase became a consensus through Cyprus discussions and till 21.07.2007 it was in the page, nobody rejected to this phrase. On 25.07.2007, somebody deleted it witthout any explanation. Two days later, explanations came into arena (they say the phrase mekes the TRNC paragraph long. However, the reality is that the phrase extends TRNC paragraph only one line and TRNC paragraph becomes 4 lines. Also, currently Macedonia and Myanmar 7 lines, Sahrawi 6 lines! If the issue is about POV, then there are also myriad Wiki authors that they consider that it is not POV. Think that, in the page it writes "israel currently recognized by 156 countries and nonrecognized by 34 countries". The phrase is just info and "recognized by 156 countries" never says to 34 countries "Why don't you recognize it?" ) and "nonrecognized by 34 countries" never says to 156 countries "Why did you recognize it?" So, you should not delete the consensus. And you should add the above consensus to the end of the TRNC paragraph (On 28.07.2007, 27.07.2007, UN Sec. Gen. Report's hyperlink to official report is also given), otherwise I will surely complain about your neutrality to the official Wiki Admins. Vista 2100 06:40, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Human figure[edit]

Article Human figure is substantially different than afd'd article. You can please compare old human figure, but see deleted version of old before that article was afd tagged. Or rewritten article, which is completely different than old one. i have archived but placed link at top of talk page, speedy nom failed to notice that. Tell me what should i do, should i go for WP:DRV? I think this is not necessary as article is completely different than old one. Thanks. Miyamw 10:20, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You compare new article with version before article was tagged afd, as all comments of afd were made on that version. Dont compare with latest version of old article. In that case articles are completely different as old version was focused on differences etc.
Term "human figure" is used only in aesthetics, while Human body shape is technical and figure drawing is just connected to this subject. I think new article should qualify to be separate article as you can see google results mentioned references section. Thanks. Miyamw 03:28, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Urgent help please!![edit]

There is a user whom has many IP addresses and is using them to troll wikipedia and push his POV onto all articles related to Manchester here is a list of IP addresses he has used so far:

.... (redacted whole list for neatness)

and he plans to continue vandalising wikipedia. Here is an admission that he is perm blocked User:Rob right: here also showing he plans to continue also here the edit summary: here shows that he is going to continue for 8 hours. He has already excessively damaged Manchester's chances of becoming WP:GA as all of the reverts needed by many registered users. Can I also draw your attention to [2] it clearly shows that Rob right is not a helpful user here on wikipedia and is intent on making destructive edits at every given chance. Could I suggest an IP range block as this user simply switches IP addresses every 5 mins so blocking single ones will have no affect on his vandalism campaign. The whole report of everything which has happened is found here: Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Persistent IP trolling, urgent admin attention needed, help would be much obliged as this has been going on for a day now. and-rewtalk 14:08, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: So your just going to let the user carry on vandalising? There must be something you can do as constantly reverting is getting tiring! and-rewtalk 14:10, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Could you not block the range for a short amount of time so at least he can try and find something better to do with his time? Also look at this summary: [3] he is just going to carry on all night! and-rewtalk 14:16, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Captain Falcon[edit]

OK, I'm not sure about this: you gave an IP address a final warning at 01:11 about vandalising Captain Falcon - then you reported this to WP:AIV for vandalising the article again at 01:13. Yet that IP's record only shows one edit to the article - at 00:32. Certainly confused me - Can you explain? ELIMINATORJR 00:22, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Probably a mistake. Having given a final warning, I assumed it would be correct to then report the address for vandalism. Clearly both of these are not required, so in future I'll just report if a final warning has already been given. To be clear, there was only one instance of vandalism here. --carelesshx talk 00:27, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

please restore SLPJ[edit]

Please restore the redirect from SLPJ to Simon Peyton Jones. This is not a typo. Simon refers to himself with the initials SLPJ. See http://conferences.oreillynet.com/presentations/os2007/os_peytonjones.pdf slide #116, http://www.haskell.org/haskellwiki/Talk:History_of_Haskell/Version_2, etc.

While not an obvious alias (like RMS, etc), the fact that it's confusing actually necessitates its inclusion. For example, when I first saw SLPJ on slide #116, I did a Wikipedia search.

John Hooker (Connecticut court reporter[edit]

I think the deletion of an article I started was done prematurely, John Hooker (Connecticut court reporter). I just created the article and was planning to add additional information but no sooner than I created it, it was deleted. This particular person was very active with the women's suffrage movement. He wrote a few books as well. He may not meet the criteria for notability and I would have no objection but I am curious as to the quickness of the article being tagged and then deleted. He was the brother-in-law of Harriet Beecher Stowe and although that in itself does not make him notable. It should be enough to allow for more time to research. Field Commander Site Vandalization[edit]

Dear Elimator,

Why not remove the Field Commander page itself??? If you are going to listen to one individual (who doesnt own the game anymore or play the game anymore)....yes BlackBeark2K7.

The whole Field Commander site has been defaced. The sections that your have removed are NOT in the manual. Obviously, the person who is complaining, does not own the manual. I have no objection of removing that section as it was irrelevant anyways to the game Field Commander.

Also, the most relevant thing about Field Commander that makes all of the players continue to play the game are the League Championships. I have referenced the League Championships to the relevant Web-pages. We have nearly 6000 entries there from players all over the world where is discuss, strategy and set up games. If this isn't relevant to Field Commander, nothing is. Why don't you visit the site and see for yourself whether it is relevant to Field Commander or not. Field Commander Site You may note, there is NO other such live Website where people can discuss Field Commander nor is there any other Field Commander League Championship as it is here.

I am sorry and disillusioned with Wikipedia. When one individual, who was a perpetual troublemaker on the Field Commander Forums and repeatedly banned, can hijack this Field Commander page and destroy it to irrelevance. If you care to check his edit history (BlackBeard2K7) you will see he is here on Wikipedia just to deface the Field Commander site. If you also see the history of his edits, you will learn that he first defaced the Field Commander page by putting Warnings in BOLD LETTERS against various links and accused me of hacking into peoples computers and threatening and abusing people (Libelous to the extreme)

I have reverted the sections which I think have total relevance to Field Commander page.

Hi there, would you be so kind as to provide an indepenant neutral opinion of the image Construccionkaiserrick.jpg at the section of the same name on the talk page of Richmond Medical Center here please? One is unfortunatly not available, though, furthermore construcction has progressed and the taking of a new may no longer be possibile. Hey there,[edit]

You deleted my first attempt at a wiki page. I can respect that it was a bit brief, I was hoping to expand it after making sure I understood the UI.

After reading the rules, if I understand this correctly, I'm not allowed to make a page about myself? Is that correct? If so, why not? Do I have to be famous first? Write a book, sing a song, act in a movie? Are normal people such as myself prohibited from being represented on Wikipedia?

Anyway, look forward to hearing back from you, thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.80.99.247 (talk) 07:50, August 25, 2007 (UTC)

Myles Dyer[edit]

Hey, I noticed that you deleted the Myles_Dyer and Blade376 pages and I would assume that you also protected them from creation. I would like to ask that you allow these pages to be created again. I understand completely why you made this decision, and I would have done the same if I was an admin. The cause for the incoherent pages was due to the fact that the people creating them were simply users watching one of the guy's live casts. Basically someone said "hey, why doesn't he have a wiki", and a million random people just added a bunch of stupid stuff. I tried to interject and create some order, but by the time I got to the page, it had been deleted already. I remade the Blade376 page and attempted to keep it orderly, but I was thwarted by another deletion. People just kept remaking them and I assume that's why they were prevented against creation. Please reconsider. I have a basic template for the Myles_Dyer page and would simply redirect Blade376 to it. My thoughts are that once a respectable page is created, people will refrain from editing all willy nilly. My greatest request is that you don't scar my account at all, I hope to be a meaningful editor of wikipedia and I can't exactly do that if I'm banned. Thanks for reading. As probably one of the most tech savvy people who were speaking of these pages, I feel that I am the one who should take responsibility for our (read "their") actions as well as the creation of a decent wiki entry for a great guy. I am a bit confused by your undeletion of We Are Electrocution! despite a consensus to delete it at AfD. The deletion was not contingent on the band being non-notable. I am not aware that there is a firm consensus that every album released by a marginally notable band is automatically notable. The album page certainly doesn't meat WP:N as it stands. Hello. I just noticed the events at User talk:Laertes d, and I had an idea that I wanted to at least suggest. This user has, if I count correctly, thirteen blocks relating to edit wars. I wondered whether spending some time on a voluntary 1RR limit might be more effective in getting him/her to collaborate, and I further wondered whether you might be willing to reduce his block if he promised to do so for the remaining time? It may be a terrible idea - what do you think? Best wishes, Jakew 22:04, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Field Commander page under attack again by BLACKBEARD2K7[edit]

Dear EliminatorJR,

I wish to complain about the user BLACKBEARD2K7 again. Now, he is writing his personal commentary on the game in which he bashes the multi-players aspects of the game Field Commmander.

(1) I don't think personal opinions count on Wikipedia. (2) As his reference he is siting Forum entries (which he himself has written under various aliases). He himself had earlier stated as "As previously noted, discussion forums cannot be used as a reliable source of information".

Despite repeated requests he persists in adding his biased unfounded commentary to the Field Commander page. Which I have again deleted.

Also, he has Re-entered the links to his personal Web-site & Forum on the Wikipedia page of M.U.L.E. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M.U.L.E.) which you had previously deleted.

Thanks in advance.

Hungrywolf 09:24, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

With regard to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M.U.L.E. I have not re-entered any previously deleted links. I have added a link to an article from a gaming magazine site, which I do not believe violates WP:EL. Blackbeard2k7 15:50, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It absolutely violates WP:EL.
Due to the rising profile of Wikipedia and the amount of extra traffic it can bring a site, there is a great temptation to use Wikipedia to advertise or promote sites. This includes both commercial and non-commercial sites. You should avoid linking to a website that you own, maintain or represent, even if the guidelines otherwise imply that it should be linked.
The site that BLACKBEARD27K attempts to link (now indirectly) is his Website/Forum that he runs. Also, "Wikipedia is NOT a repository of links...if that was true then each page would have 1000 external links if everyone puts his own (useless links).

Hungrywolf 16:51, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't matter what other links exist in the article itself. The article contains unique information about the game that is not available anywhere else. The article is not my personal web site and the link does not take you to a forum. I do not run a web site or forum anyway. Regardless, EliminatorJR already agreed with me here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Blackbeard2k7#M.U.L.E. In addition, a third opinion on the discussion page of the article in question confirms the legitimacy of the link. Blackbeard2k7 18:01, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

M.U.L.E. External Spamming link Violating Copyright Material.[edit]

This is complain for Wikipage on M.U.L.E. [[6]]

BLACKBEARD27K is linking to his personal Website. M.U.L.E. Software Download When that was deleted by the Admins, he is now (indirectly) linking to it via another personal Website.

(1) BLACKBEARD27K is offering, on the above Website, for download a pirated / modified / hacked version of the game M.U.L.E. without the permission of the original authors or publishers ATARI. This is a serious violation of copyright material.

(2) It is in violation of WP:EL as it is SPAM and he is trying to propagate his own web-site Forum here.

(3) Wikipedia is NOT a collection of links.

(4) Also, using common sense, no link on Wikipedia should point to the download of any executable software from a very unreliable source (as above). Such software may contain trojans and keyloggers which steal your personal information (including Credit Card Nos & passwords)

This individual persists in reverting the deletions. I have deleted the offending link. Please give your opinion regarding this on the M.U.L.E. discussion page.
