Dear Bill, You reverted some of my edits just now. Any particular reason? Savi.odl (talk) 18:11, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

Reply: I even first undid your changes so that you might be notified about the problem in your edit. You just have to understand a simple thing that, this page is about the "University of Delhi", not about its affiliated colleges. You may refer any good article of any university and you won't find any such things, for instance check University of Cambridge, University of Michigan, NYU, etc.
Sure - your initial deletions I interpreted as my computer misbehaving!! till I looked at the history page. Sure. I agree. I am sorry - I am not a frequent editor of wikipedia - will learn. any special reason why Stephens, Venky, and Hindu are stet? Savi.odl (talk) 18:43, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
Reply: It's soothing that you've understood. These colleges you're taking about are there much before, but don't worry when I'll work on this article, I'll remove them too...Bill william comptonTalk 18:54, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
Well, I'll add information as and when I can to make the DU page more 'wholesome' Savi.odl (talk) 19:12, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

Portals Asian Games

Ok here is how i tell people what to do.......go ahead and start i will jumpin were need be.Moxy (talk) 20:35, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

Step one

First we search to find the page we wish to create...we then click on the red link like this one-->Portal:Asian Games and past in what is bellow..and save page!!

<small>{{browsebar}}</small>
__NOTOC____NOEDITSECTION__
<div style="float:right; width:100%">
{{/box-header|'''<big>Asian Games</big>'''|{{FULLPAGENAME}}/Intro|}}
{{{{FULLPAGENAME}}/Intro}}
{{/box-footer|}}
</div>
<div style="text-align:center; margin:0.25em auto 0.75em">{{purge|'''Show new selections below... (purge)'''}}</div>
<div style="float:right; width:55%;"> <!-- This width add to the the margin below to equal 99%-->
{{Random portal component |max=1|header=Selected article| subpage=Selected article}}
{{Random portal component |max=1|header=Selected bio| subpage=Selected bio}}
</div>

<div style="width:44%; float:left;">
{{Random portal component |max=1|header=Selected event| subpage=Selected event}}
{{Random portal component |max=1|header=Selected picture| subpage=Selected picture}}
{{/box-header|Categories|{{FULLPAGENAME}}/Categories|}}
{{/Categories}}
{{/box-footer|}}
</div>

<div style="clear:both; width:100%">
{{/box-header|Topics|{{FULLPAGENAME}}/Topics|}}
{{{{FULLPAGENAME}}/Topics}}
{{/box-footer|}}

{{/box-header|Related portals|{{FULLPAGENAME}}/Related portals|}}
{{{{FULLPAGENAME}}/Related portals}}
{{/box-footer|}}

{{/box-header|Associated WikiMedia |{{FULLPAGENAME}}/Associated WikiMedia|}}
{{{{FULLPAGENAME}}/Associated WikiMedia }}
{{/box-footer|}}
</div>
|}
{{-}}
{{portals}}
<center>{{Purgepage}}</center>

[[Category:Portals|Asian Games]]
Step 2

We now have to add codes to 2 of the e subpages to make the layout work! In the red link named -->Portal:Asian Games/box-footer we have to add the code below.

{{Portal:box-footer | {{{1}}} }}

The next code is for the colors that you can choose ... we need to place the code below in Portal:Asian Games/box-header.

{{Portal:Box-header | title={{{1}}}
|editpage={{{2}}}
|border=#aaaaaa <!-- This is the color of the borders around Box Sections -->
|titleforeground=white <!-- This is the color of the Box Section Title Bar text -->
|titlebackground=#aaccff <!-- This is the color of the Box Section Title Bar -->
|background=#f9f9ff <!-- This is the color of the Box Section background -->
|foreground=black}} <!-- This is the color of the Box Section text -->
So your done coding now need to fill all the boxs with info  :) those red links...

Adding a second and/or third selection.... ok so as of now there is 1 box for each section selected ...to change/Add more selection/a second box ... we need to Up the max=1 number to make more selections for each one that can do that... the code on the main page is --> {{Random portal component |max=1 .... So change |max=1 to |max=2 etc... save page purge and they will appear.

Reply: Thanks a lot Moxy, but really I was aware of most of these things, as sometimes I work on few portals [but, didn't make any by myself], actually the major [and only] point of my confusion was– "ParserFunctions extension", honestly I don't have any idea about it, I don't know how to install and implement it. On Instructions, it's a very first step, which make me feel myself dumbfound about the whole procedure and I thought if I'm even not able to understand this basic step then how would I be able to get success further. I still have this doubt that whether we've to use this thing or not, if not then everything seems fine and under your supervision it won't be a great deal, thanks again for your prompt response. Bill william comptonTalk 01:57, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
I will be honest i have no clue what "ParserFunctions extension" is - I have never used it nor ever heard anyone say its sonething thats needs to be done.Moxy (talk) 02:04, 21 April 2011 (UTC)

Portal

OK i can help - however File:Asian Games logo.svg cant be used for the portal image (cant use any type of copyright image in portals at all - one of my pet peeves that portals cant use them ) - As for the portal image (when you find one that's fair use) you can simply add it to --> Template:Portal/Images/Asian games like at Template:Portal/Images/Olympics - this will make the image appear automatically.Moxy (talk) 05:57, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
